I have been a customer of Petco through many, many, many managers. I asked for an even exchange for the filter and because of their 30 day NO exchange, refund, don't ask, question or inquire policy - would not even consider an exchange even tho they had three on the shelves. I needed to invest in another filter because I did not want my fish to die. After going through Petco Corporate Headquarters, I called Aqueon. This company stood by their product and I was able to speak to them as a solid customer of their product and got a satifactory resolution FROM AQUEON. Aqueon products are sold ONLINE. I would recommend buying these products online and NEVER going to PETCO for anything - ever!!!!!! Can exceptions be made?? Of course they can. Hello Petco! This could have been a much different review. I don't need to get anything at this store. I supported it through the 12-4 opening only hours. What a waste. Now I know - Now you know. As a kid we'd see Drs Buzz and Barbara Boyd at this location w pets in times of joy, crisis, routine, and sadness. I admired their knowledge, and their respectful and kind approach with me and my pets to the extent I always wanted to become a vet... this desire waned when I figured my aptitude probably was not up to that required to pursue such a profession. On their retirement we moved on to other vets in the area who had the skill, reputation and manner we sought. Eventually time again came to choose a vet and we moved our patronage here. I felt a sense of warm nostalgia returning to this location. My wife has done most of the visits with our pets here for maybe 5 years. I've had 3 instances there, each involving the euthanasia of a beloved dog. (This not something my wife wanted to experience.) In other instances with different vets, they'd carry out the procedure in my presence, offer reassuring consolation that having watched the pet grow the vet could also tell the time had come. The veterinarian seemed to respect my opinion and insights on the dog's health, shared experiences of similar situations, and left me with a feeling of confidence and dignity having carried out what some call the final act of kindness. Each of the three experiences I had at this clinic were unpleasant, disappointing, and left me with a layer of sadness on top of the grief of the loss of my beloved friend. First of all in a very modern manner the vibe is tantamount to being in my own mass produced primary care doctor's office... The girls at the front present nice enough, but of course, very tied to what information their computer has or needs updating. Each of the vets I've met with, as they've been different each time I've been, seem very self important, that I'm imposing on their time, give me an impression that once I finish talking they'll tell me the facts... a feeling my thoughts, experience, or insights into my animal are quaint yet unimportant and indeed led me to question my heart breaking decision my pet's time had come... Furthermore at the worst time in a pet owners life, my experience w the euthanasia was clinical, rather than comforting, in two of the cases although the animal had been a patient for years was not known by the doctor. My friend was taken into a different room to have something done then returned to me for the final part of the process. These times of separation terrified my pet rather than comforted my friend. Each of these times left me with as noted earlier a layer of sad disappointment of the experience on top of the grief at that heartbreaking time. We're told to be responsible pet owners, spay and neuter, immunize and always offer a loving safe peaceful existence to our pets. My (apparently old fashion) experiences offered my vet would be a partner with me thru the life and death of my pets. This modern practice has changed that hope and expectation, and let me down in not offering that partnership I sought. I have only these experiences to reflect upon for this review. I presume the medical aspects of this practice are good, definitely modern and up to date. And I may have an old fashion opinion so young patrons may appreciate their style. I'm not going back...

Today was the final straw when she refused to help me (I wanted to see if my dog would tolerate a scarf over her head and wanted to use one of her coats--not to put on the whole thing, just a ribbed section over her head. There was no risk of damaging her merchandise.) When I expressed my displeasure she tried to back pedal and make alternative suggestions, but I have had enough of her passive aggressive behavior toward me and my (very well behaved) dog. I will not be visiting any more. This makes me sad because I'd rather support a small business than the big guys.

I do think $20 is a little pricey since TSC offers the same service for $9.95. Unfortunately, there isn't a TSC for 30 miles away that offers it though.

To go over to Greenbrier Emergency Veterinarian. No warning about how expense Greenbrier would be. The cat got good care at Greenbrier but was not prepared for how expense it would be. Payment needed to be made in advance before any care was given. Had to run home and get another CC that I don't normally carry with be. The practice is open late Friday - Monday 7:30 AM. Had to pick the cat up Monday morning doing a snow storm still with catheter sticking out his rear. Then take him to properly only vet open doing the snow storm. They keep him while I waited half a day in the lobby. Was told best to keep the catheter in for 48 hours. Cost at Greenbrier $2,900 and another $350 at Meadow Creek. I ask them if I came to them first what the charge would be for the same procedure. Was told $700. At Greenbrier I was also told that my cat may need to go next store to the specially surgical veterinarians for a future procedure . That they were the only ones that did that procedure in our area. Cost would be about $5,000. At Meadow Creek they told me that they could do the same procedure and cost would be about $2,000. They put the cat on a special diet and medicine so hopeful he will not need to have it done. Can not say enough nice thinks about Mesdow Creek and staff. I expect that they will be my new veterinarian. Finale thought my father was a veterinarian and I use to help him out at his practice. I know a few things about the business.

I love how friendly and caring the assistants and technicians are with our dogs. Ashley is very friendly, especially when it comes to our dogs. Staesha is also friendly and caring! Makes us happy when she pops in to say hi to our dog Ruka. He's a Ridgeback, which she shared she grew up with :) Cherish always welcomes our dogs and makes their tails wag! One thing we hate is when we feel rushed with our appointments, and Dr. Cain has never made us feel that way. He always explains things thoroughly and never makes us feel like any questions we ask are not good ones. Our little dog recently had oral surgery with dental extractions and we were very worried. Dr. Cain and his team assured us everything would be alright and kept us updated throughout the process. Our dogs love going to the vet now because of their amazing treatment, but it also could be because of the treats they spoil them with. Their customer service is great and am always able to schedule an appointment with no problem, even same day appointments. I either always speak to Jessie or Shane, they are always able to squeeze us in, especially for their nail trimming appointments!
