We recently moved and Marley was having trouble holding commands with different owners and was leash reactive. The trainers made a point of having multiple trainers work with Marley and took her out on walks with and around other dogs. The trainers were very friendly, communicative and accommodating throughout the process. After the room and board we had a lesson where we got to spend time with the trainers and see what she had learned. We also have another lesson we can use where a trainer will come to our home to see how her training is progressing. Overall we had a positive experience with ATX K9 and are grateful for the trainers that worked with Marley.

Fortunatley he healed well after two weeks of dedicated TLC but the trauma of the experience remained with both him and me well after Ryder physically healed. I reached out to Matt for virtual dog training appointments to help us through that, and his guidance and great wisdom around dog psychology and behavior and deep empathy for Ryder and in general made such a huge impact. I learned from Matt how to help Ryder through his fear and trauma and how to recognize when he was experiencing trauma (for example, he developed a new and strong fear of rumbling engines). By applying Matt's empathetic practices, Ryder has become much less fearful, is no longer afraid of rumbling engines or playing with other dogs and he's back to his old happy, playful, super enthusiastic and friendly self!! :) Matt also greatly helped my dog Ellie through the excessive anxiety that resulted from my marital separation and helped us learn what an impact the breaking of that social bond had on her and how to address it! We now give her the extra attention she needs when doing hand offs to switch between homes. The upper level classes work on "rally courses". Cons: All classes are on Margaret's land/field (this has both pros and cons). Great when it's warm and sunny or overcast, not so fun when it gets rained out or in the heat of summer. (Though many of the reschedules classes were nice, like in the cold winter/holiday months). We chose to work with Humaner Trainer because of the many recommendations from friends and neighbors. Margaret and Kathleen work by cues, marks, and positive reinforcement (by treats, praise, or play)) to the dog. They are very knowledgeable about various methods of animal training, and the pros and cons of them all. As with ANY dog training, it does require work and consistency on the part of the dog's family. Margaret gives you the basic tools to train your dog, and to keep it healthy and balanced. The longer you can work with Margaret, the more practice you and your dog will get. I love how at the completion of level 4, our pup knows how to walk well on his leash, knows how to walk to my side while watching for my cues.

The program is far more comprehensive than other snake avoidance training. Some classes only provide a brief negative reinforcement exposure to snakes which may not be sufficient training. Utilizing both negative and positive reinforcement, Kris' program teaches dogs not only that snakes are dangerous, but how they should respond when encountered. The expert snake handler provided critical knowledge for dog owners which added to the comprehensive nature of this course. We are planning to reinforce our dog's training with yearly snake training at Canine Moxy and continue other training with Kris. Canine Moxy and Kris provide exceptional training and we highly recommend.

I brought my dogs in to the canine center for a few classes and a private training. Today, our trainer said that to solve my GSD's reactivity on the leash, we just needed to stop letting her go to the dog park. Okay, that's fine to have the a stance about a dog park, but i expect some sort of guide or training if I'm paying for a private session; not just - "stop taking your dog to the dog park." That's not a cure-all. Giving us a scripted answer that the dog park is the root of all evil isn't particular helpful for the situation that we're currently in. Which is truly, she has already learned reactivity on the leash so * where do we go/what do we do from here. * My vet had recommended this place many times but fool me three times canine center! Maybe other trainers are better or a better fit, but I felt like I could have Googled and saved myself $100. Additionally - the website says their recess is their take on day care; the trainer told me it's only for puppies. Too many conflicting message here. This place isn't for me and my fur babies.

She showed me this video of a mama dog correcting her pups and this is what the leader of the pack (me) does. I'm basically mama grunting at them when they do anything out of line or any thing I want to correct. Amanda is super cool and personable and can show you so many ways to get your dogs in line. There's obviously more to it than just grunting so make you're appointment with this company!!! My dogs are happier dogs! My dogs don't have anxiety and IIIIIIIIII don't have anxiety. I can enjoy my dogs now! It's crazy. It's totally working! No treat or punish training. My Cooper is not fear barking and lunging at people and my other dog Hunny isn't separation anxiety barking outside when she can't see me. It took one water spray and a grunt before she came inside; I closed the door again and she quietly, patiently waited to come in until I let her. Some dogs are a little more stubborn (cooper has been surprisingly) but it's working. Hunny fell in line immediately. My dogs aren't CRAZY! Amanda and I are working on leash training in 2 weeks.
