I went to this vet for a while I was living in Texas. I have a black lab, and she is not overweight and looks like a typical black lab. I went in to get treatment for fleas during the summer. When the doctor walked in she said, "my your dog is obese!" I kind of ignored her comment and went on to tell her I needed flea medication. She examined my dog and agreed she had fleas and told me she was very fat. I disagreed, and told her we go on runs almost daily. She then recommended heart worm medication, and I told her I couldn't afford to pay for heart worm medication at that moment. And then this lady told me this, "Well, if you weren't feeding your dog so much food, you could of probably saved up enough to get the heart worm medication." I was super irritated and said I just wanted the flea meds and I got out of there as soon as I could. What a rude lady, I hope nobody has her as their doctor ever.

I always have a fantastic experience with this vet. Both Dr. Glowski and Dr. Carballo are great and so is the rest of the staff.

Century animal hospital is amazing!! I've been to many many animal hospitals and they are honestly the best one I've ever used for my pets. All of their employees are so sweet and caring. I can tell they truly enjoy what they do. The vets are very knowledgeable and compassionate. They have been able to fit my pets in much sooner than other vets which I sincerely appreciate. I can not recommend them enough! Thank you so much century animal hospital for taking such good care of my babies.

Recently moved to Austin and we were on the search for a new vet for our pup Cosmo! Century animal hospital was really accommodating and could get us in the quickest compared to other vets in the area. Staff here is the nicest and friendliest I've encountered! Dr. C really takes her time and is really good at laying out treatment options and medication recommendations that suite both the pet and the owner! Cosmo recently got neutered here and the actual cost came in less than their original estimate by a pretty significant amount. She was super empathic and walked us through the surgery, expected results, and even called to check up on him the next morning. Prices are pretty reasonable but we did pay $35 for a vet tech appt to get our poor boy's glands expressed whereas at a previous place in Houston we only paid $15. But otherwise still a bargain with most importantly quality and empathy. They're also super covid-19 friendly and practicing curbside pickup for the time being.

Then, she passed while the doctor and I talked about her life and how wonderful she was. It was the hardest day of my life, but the easiest day of my sweet baby Gracie's. It was worth every penny. I have never seen such a peaceful ending. There are not words big enough to communicate my gratitude. The end of her life was so sacred, which is more than most of us people get. My usual vet, who we have been seeing since adopting the cat almost 2 years ago, rudely dismissed my concerns over the phone and insisted that I needed to pay an $80 office visit fee just to get an answer to my question over the phone (the question was "What does the PCR panel test for?"). I started calling every other vet in Austin to find a clinic that has experience with Tritrichomonas and that I felt comfortable with. Several clinics admitted that they did not know what the parasite was or had never treated it before. Another lied and said "oh, that is super easy to treat and really common and straightforward!" which I knew was not accurate from the empirical literature online. I finally found Austin Urban Vet and the experience we have had so far has genuinely been night and day different from pervious clinics. From the very first call, the AUV team was empathetic to our situation, VERY transparent about pricing (they provided it in writing), and explicitly clear about which PCR diagnostic panel they use at AUV and exactly what it tests for. They were open and honest about their experience with Tritrichomonas and I immediately felt at ease and confident in the care that they could provide my cat. After chatting with my partner about my findings from calling almost every vet in Austin, we both agreed Austin Urban Vet was the best one to move forward with, so we made an appointment. Right off the bat, I was happy to find that AUV has a private parking lot (for free!). I headed inside with my cat and the team at the front desk was so kind and helpful. They quickly checked me in and invited me to grab a bottle of water or make myself a cup of coffee as I waited for the tech to take us into the room. We waited for maybe ~5 minutes before the tech took us to the exam room, where she scanned my cat for her microchip, weighed her, and asked questions about the presenting problem, history, etc. Dr. Helen was who attended us for the exam itself, and she was so kind and thorough. I really felt that she was providing genuine feedback, and she was honest about her experience with this parasite. She was transparent about the treatment plan and let me know her general thoughts (Ie., "If she is still positive, we will do X. If she is negative, we can try Y.") We are now waiting for the PCR results, but so far, I am so happy with our experience and feel confident that Dr. Helen will provide us with the best care possible.

SOUTH PARK ANIMAL HOSPITAL is now owned by a VENTURE CAPITAL FIRM called National Veterinary Associates, which in turn is owned by JAB Holding company, JAB has tripled in size since it started buying up vets and charging confiscatory prices, taking advantage of our love of our pets. BUT they started burying me in pitch emails too, trying to feed fear about my cat's health, constantly trawling me for more money, more money, more money, all while pretending to care about my cat when they don't.
