If I can give them zero stars I would. Will is extremely unprofessional, incompetent and unfairly expensive. I had him over to do the pre-wiring for my internet at my house and it was a complete nightmare. Him and his team didn't know where and how to start. They spent 6 hours trying to figure it out with no avail. Luckily the house was already pre-wired or I don't know how they would have done it. We discovered that on day 2. They still charged me about $3,000 to test which of the wires were working. Something you can do with a $20 tester. Same issue with the wiring of the speakers. Overall they are horrible and I do not recommend them. Will was screaming at me on the phone. If I had more time I'd take him to small claims court. read more

These guys seemed really sketchy to me from the beginning and they proved it with poor performance. My son loves video games, so I finally decided to get a home entertainment system. A Speaker Guy sales rep sold me a Samsung led tv and a Bose V25 system. They came next day on time and installed my system. Everything looks beautiful, no wires, no mess, and my son absolutely loves all the special effects. I live in Sherman Oaks, and am currently in the process of remodeling my home. I met with Speakerguy on multiple occasions prior to moving forward with my project and Alex and Will were both extremely helpful in helping me design a system that is not only within my budget but is also realistic within my remodeling schedule. They realized my long time dream of having a 5.1 surround theater in my basement and also installed speakers and tv's throughout my house and guesthouse. They installed a sonos system so I can listen to all my music using my phone and ipad. Amazing work and simple to use!!! I also contracted them a month later to install a 12 camera system. Now I can see all my cameras on my phone. Main thing I want to point out is that I delt with many companies in the past and speakerguy truly did the job right. I need to ding this company. A week ago I spoke to someone named Reggie to inquire if they might be able to assist with running an ethernet cable from one side of my house to another and also the potential for installing my rear Bose Speakers for my home theatre. He set up an appointment for today around what he said was 9 or 10am and that the hourly rate for the work would be around $85/hr. He said he would confirm the exact time on Thursday which was yesterday. I didn't hear from him, so I called him around 7:00PM on Thursday evening to inquire about the appointment. The next morning, I tried again around 9:30 in the morning and again after 11:00am. Its now 3:20PM and still not one call back. The fact that I re-arranged my work schedule to work from home for this I guess doesn't matter to them. If you are this unprofessional and uncaring of customer's time prior to getting the business, I can't imagine using a company to see how unprofessional they might be once they get the business.In my experience this is usually a reflection of the quality of work. read more

Very bad experience with Speaker guy . They came for a few hours programming our universal remote for our TV and multiple speakers in and out our property. Before starting the job, we were informed it would cost $600 max . When the tech Robert completed his job, informing us all was working to perfection, he suddenly went outside talking to his boss Alex who was waiting sitting inside a car the entire job (we found very strange that the actual boss would wait in a car for hours). Robert was a polite man, gave us his business card and cell phone and said the job was under warranty and if anything does not work, he would come back right away at no charge. When he came back in, he said his boss in the car said it will cost us $750 cash. We were not too pleased to hear they did not honor the agreed price but still gave him $750 CASH. We, then asked for a receipt and were told that they were late and had to go but they would definitively email us the receipt as well as the written step by step operating instructions the next day. We trusted them and shacked hands, went to dinner and to bed. Well Well !!! that's when complications started... Note that originally, we had asked for specific remote performances which we paid more than we originally owed. When we tried our system the nest day, the cable box would not turn on and off with the remote as promised, the speakers outside area did not work and one could not get a picture on TV while I pod was on and more... . Most of what we had paid for did not work . Since no email came in the next day, we called them several times and only got voice mail, left several voice and email messages to let them know that they need to come back and fix the problems asap and at same time to please bring our invoice receipt with their company's name showing we paid them in full. Nobody called us back and no emails was received. After several days of insistence on our part trying to speak to someone, Alex finally called us back saying that if they were to come back, we would have to pay an extra $300. We could not believe it and argued that he must be joking.. He became rude and unprofessional . They NEVER followed up on anything besides what we were told and promised by his tech... We NEVER received our invoice receipt nor did we ever received the system instructions and worse they NEVER came back to fix the miss functions which were supposed to be under warranty. We had to call a different company to solve the problems and this ended up costing us several more $ . If we could give Speaker Guy a ZERO STAR, we would. This is a very dishonest company and a non- professional company. who does not know what they are doing and take advantage of clients. read more

All 4 companies were accustomed to doing high-end projects, but Alex won my business because he was the only one who was telling me what I didn't need. Just had an experience that is def worth a review. I finally decided to get home theater system so naturally started looking on amazon. My friend referred me to Alex from SpeakerGuy. The guy was great from the beginning, straight and to the point. He offered to come over and do a free estimate. He acknowledged that amazon had great prices on many items but put together an even better packages of components that actually work together better. His price was very reasonable. Installation was scheduled just 2 days after I approved his invoice. What I'm really happy about is that I didn't have to waste my time on researching these complex products. Speakerguy came in, designed the system from ground up, delivered equipment free of charge (so no shipping charges or chances of products being damaged). I didn't have to worry about staying home and waiting for deliveries, Speakerguy brought everything over and installed it same day. All 3 installers were very professional and polite. Even when I wanted to make small changes they accommodated. Will was especially friendly. I liked these guys from the get go. They mounted 2 TV's in my house, ran all wires into a closet which I wasn't using (Alex's ides), setup all my equipment connected 5 in-ceiling speakers so I now have surround sound. Hooked up a subwoofer, so my system has great bass. Most importantly everything looks really clean, there are no wires showing anywhere and speakers are completely concealed in the ceiling. Also, they programmed a universal remote so I can use one remote for my tv, musice, apple tv, cable box, and bluray player. I love my new system and very greatful to SpeakerGuy. I first called Speaker Guy in '08 and I have been using him ever since. I am extremely thorough in researching a product, and I'm convinced that Speaker Guy provides the best price and service in the greater L.A. area. Almost always, his prices are the best on the market. If they aren't, there is a reason. Yes, one can sometimes find a slightly less expensive price on the internet from an out of state website, but often they don't have a legitimate warranty, their product is out of stock, it isn't shipped correctly, doesn't come with all that's promised, etc. All Speaker Guy's products are completely legitimate and come with a manufacturer's warranty. Thus, the reason the Speaker Guy is an authorized dealer for many top of the line vendors. In addition to his competitive prices, the other main factor why I continue to use him: service. He is extremely efficient and expedient - he will help you select your product and will deliver it to you when you need it. With service comes reliability. I haven't had any problems with my products, however, I did have a potential problem with one and he was very reliable in helping me trouble shoot. Because he is an authorized dealer, the manufacturer itself was contacted and the problem was resolved easily. Finally, along the same lines as reliability, there is something to be said about someone who is easy to get a hold of. He's great about getting back to you with any questions/concerns before, and more importantly, AFTER your purchase. There is comfort in knowing that he's there if you need him. After rebuilding a home, and using several different contractors, service people, etc., I was motivated to write this review for The Speaker Guy, as he as stood out among the rest. I have never written a review on Yelp before but I had such a great experience that I had to share. First of all, I had just moved into a new place and it was the day before my Birthday. I called The Speaker Guy to see if he could do an install the next day. I gave him a tiny range of time that would work because I would have guests coming over and he made it happen. WOW. The installers name was Clark and he was highly professional and meticulous. The first thing he did was make a small trash can so that there was never anything on my floor from the equipment and packaging. (ummmmm my floors were far from perfect so I was really impressed). He measured, checked, and double checked and made sure that I liked the positioning of the TV. He mounted my TV, installed and mounted my sound bar system and blue ray. He even made some spacers for my sub woofer so that it comes up to the exact height of my credenza so it looks all custom made. AMAZING. We chatted as he installed and it came out better than I could ever have imagined. Not a wire is to be seen and the television is perfectly mounted. I am in the hospitality business and was really impressed with Clark and his above and beyond the call of duty service (for a price that was much less than what Best Buy wanted). My guests arrived just after Clark had finished and the birthday party was a screaming success. They only go to 5-star recommendation or I would give more. I had a really great experience!!! I hired speaker guy to work with me on clients project. I explained to them the style my customer was looking for (she wanted everything out of sight). Speaker Guy put together a system with in-wall speakers that could not be seen and we could paint over. They also put automated TV lifts inside furniture pieces that I used as part of my design.
