I only had a short period of time, and though the restaurant and bar were pretty full, I was in and out in less than an hour. Happy Hour is available from 2-6 Tuesday through Friday (they are closed Mondays). Their pick any two for $13 from the Happy Hour menu is an amazing deal! The choices are side salad, wedge salad, bowl of Chili, soup of the day, Jr. club sandwich, or Jr. BLT with cheese. I started with the classic wedge salad with bleu cheese dressing, bleu cheese crumbles, applewood smoked bacon, red onion, and Roma tomatoes. This was a large serving and was full of toppings. My second choice was the Jr. BLT with cheese, and while it says Jr. in the name, this was a full-size sandwich featuring a grilled cheese combined with bacon, lettuce, and tomato. And it was even served with fries. I was not expecting this amount of food for a happy hour offering, but it was more than I could eat, and it was all freshly prepared and great tasting. I would definitely go back to Crewitts Creek again when given the chance.

They may have been a little overloaded but got everything right and made sure we were happy. They're running a deal right now where you get a free drink with a meal, so that was a nice bonus. The biscuits and gravy were some of the best we've ever had! The hot honey chicken biscuit was great and my youngest son was in love with the biscuits too. My oldest had the French toast and also loved it. The iced coffee is Carabello's and it was great (we got vanilla). The prices are fair and portions big. We will return for lunch!

The service was not only slow, but unfriendly as well. While we were brought refills on drinks and the coleslaw that came with one of our sandwiches, they were thrown down without a word. I should mention that we were among several tables that waited a lengthy amount of time for their orders. There is a sign by the cash register (only visible when leaving!) that says "we specialize in fresh food, not fast food, so please be patient." It's an admirable goal, but not if the expectation is that customers will be fine with waiting an hour for said fresh food. Our sandwiches were good, but that may be because we were ravenous when they finally showed up! My impression is that Family's Main St Restaurant is primarily a hangout for locals to catch up with one another while waiting for breakfast or lunch. While there's a place for restaurants like this, I do not recommend it to travelers who want to eat in a reasonable amount of time and go on their way.

He got a kick out of being able to read his name multiple times around the restaurant and was happy with his eggs and toast which is all you can hope for with a six year old, am I right? I got the pulled pork omelette and it was amazing. I'm not a huge cheese and egg fan so the omelette was just pork and egg, so next time we stop by I might add a veggie or something for a little texture change, but the flavor was great! They don't turn on their ice cream machines till 11 so we didn't get to sample the dairy goods, but I'm sure they will be worth a second trip. We loaded up on merch to wear back in our neck of the woods and chatted with some of the workers on break who got a kick out of the story behind my Kelly's name and shared the OG Kelly's name origin as well.
