I'm not super familiar with the Independence, Kentucky dining scene, but Crewitts Creek Kitchen & Bar has to be one of the best restaurants in the area. I stumbled upon Crewitts Creek while in Independence for my son's soccer game. I only had a short period of time, and though the restaurant and bar were pretty full, I was in and out in less than an hour. Happy Hour is available from 2-6 Tuesday through Friday (they are closed Mondays). Their pick any two for $13 from the Happy Hour menu is an amazing deal! The choices are side salad, wedge salad, bowl of Chili, soup of the day, Jr. club sandwich, or Jr. BLT with cheese. I started with the classic wedge salad with bleu cheese dressing, bleu cheese crumbles, applewood smoked bacon, red onion, and Roma tomatoes. This was a large serving and was full of toppings. My second choice was the Jr. BLT with cheese, and while it says Jr. in the name, this was a full-size sandwich featuring a grilled cheese combined with bacon, lettuce, and tomato. And it was even served with fries. I was not expecting this amount of food for a happy hour offering, but it was more than I could eat, and it was all freshly prepared and great tasting. I would definitely go back to Crewitts Creek again when given the chance. read more

We went this past weekend and it was kinda rough. Server was new so we gave some grace but failed to get a simple drink we ordered (Tequila/Soda splash of lemonade came as wrong tequila with tap water) and when we identified it was wrong there wasn't offer to fix. Was difficult to get refills on bar drinks when ready and dinners were subpar. Strawberry salad chicken appeared to be boiled instead of grilled and steak special was a bit overcooked and unseasoned. Omg, the onion ring tower is life changing! Could be the best onion rings I've ever had. I just ordered the appetizer portion of hanky panks - I was full from the onion rings. My husband ordered the meatloaf which was recommended. He said it was fine but not something he would order again. The service was awesome and the menu has lots of options. We have been to Crewitts a few times and it's been better each time. The food is always super good and the drinks are strong! Our servers have been super nice and this last time I even had a very good Pokémon go convo with our waiter . If you are looking for a chill bar to spend a date or just to get a couple drinks, this place will really deliver on that! read more

A party of 4 of us dined on Tuesday around 3:30. We tried the Happy Hour Hanky Pankys, and the Onion Ring appetizer. Both were so delicious! For dinner we had a wedge salad, grilled chicken salad, Grilled chicken over pasta, and a Grilled chicken wrap. All of those were excellent! We will definitely be back! I don't know why we don't come here more often. There are so many amazing items on the menu. If you haven't done the creek get over here. If you come during dinner expect a crowd but don't give up. We tried this place for the first time on a Saturday night. I'm glad we went early (around 5pm) because there was a super long wait when we left. I guess it's a popular place! It's a sports bar type atmosphere with lots of TVs, a prominent bar, high tops, etc. It's extremely loud so not the place to go if you want to have a conversation but definitely an energetic and fun vibe. The service was extremely slow. Drinks arrived promptly but we then had to wait about 20 minutes before the server showed up again to take our food order. It was then another 25 minutes before we got our food. So we were seated for almost an hour before we even started eating. Everything we had was great. My party had sandwiches, salad, catfish, tater tots, and hot slaw and it was all delicious. The menu is huge with a lot of things that look great so I'll definitely be back to give it another try. First of all, Kyle the bartender is 5 stars and beyond! He is outstanding! We have loved Crewitts menu & friendly staff, I am only knocking a peg because on our last visit, we waited forever & the hostess staff was not at all friendly or accommodating. There was no manager who came out to assist. Thankfully Kyle helped us to finally get seated after over an hour. Having said that, we did enjoy the food & our server was very nice. We had dinner here this past Saturday night. We started off with the GOAT balls which is meatballs drenched in made from scratch marinara and topped with goat cheese. Served with baked crostinis. There's enough of these for 3 or 4 people!! Then we shared the Pavarotti pasta which is linguine drenched in made from scratch Alfredo sauce, topped with grilled chicken & basil. Our food was absolutely amazing! Service was good. We've eaten here a few times and NEVER ever had a bad meal. Some things were really good - the fried green tomatoes were very tasty and they have two sauces with them. I love the bacon jam that came with them. The wedge salad was excellent. I'd asked for no onions and it came with onions, but that happens. We then had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans. It was good but not the best. There's places that have much better mashed potatoes and much better meatloaf to be honest. The thing that was actually not good at all was the chocolate raspberry bread pudding. It wasn't very good because they had let it cook too long and it was hard as a rock. I would be leery of their dessert simply because the one I had was so bad - there were a lot of items on the appetizers that I would like to try and I will go back because I want to try their independence Hot Brown. read more

I had wedge salad but unfortunately it had wayyy too much dressing on it. For entrees I chose the deviled eggs with hot honey chicken- this was ok!
