A friend recommended Spears for power equipment service. They fixed my 20+ year old snowblower promptly at a very reasonable price.

02/02/2025 - This review is for the Service Center and the staff that worked on this weekend;…read moreinteraction with the main store staff will be included: My wife and I made an appointment to have an oil change and tire rotation. Immediately we were greeted by a female service tech. Another tech joined her, and we were helped quickly. We exchanged information on the appointment and service to be done and it was refreshing to see their service was also personable, lending a confidence that we were in good hands. We proceeded into the store to do some shopping. We needed something from hardware, but because of the new remodel of the store, we weren't familiar with the layout. Immediately, a service tech (from the service center) was passing through the store and asked if he could help us. We told him what we were looking for and he took us to the hardware area. The was a couple floor employees there chit chatting, we had to wait for them to finish before they turn their attention to the service tech and us. Ugh. So after we got dropped off by the follow employee to look for what we needed, we proceed to automotive for wipers, we looked up the wipers but couldn't find where they were on the floor. Two automotive employees never asked if they could help us, I had to inquire, and the guy was very short, he pointed in the direction with his chin. The wipers were not in the automotive dept. Where the sign was located. I shop here once in a while and this is the typical service I can expect, but most are friendly and helpful. I just wish they would acknowledge you and help direct you where to go or even find it with you. After checking out we returned to the service center, and it's like a different country. They see you and don't waste any time getting you taken care of and on your way. Is safe to say, when it comes to customer service, the service center team is carrying this store. We will definitely be back.

I would never work with this tire service department again after this experience. The level of…read morecustomer service, communication, transparency, and professionalism was extremely disappointing from beginning to end. One of my biggest concerns is the information provided by staff to an outside company, Cooper Tires. I was told that staff member Pat provided information to Cooper Tires that was false or inaccurate regarding my situation. Providing incorrect information to an outside company is extremely concerning and raises serious questions about the accuracy and integrity of the communication coming from this service department. I was also extremely disappointed by the way the pricing was handled. The Service Manager, Mike, provided me with a price in written communication, and I relied on that written quote when making my decision. However, Assistant Manager Bryan later refused to honor the price that had been communicated to me in writing. Instead, the details and price were changed after the quote had already been provided to me as the customer. That is not an acceptable way to conduct business. When a service department provides a customer with a written price, the customer should reasonably expect that price to be honored. Changing the terms afterward creates a serious lack of trust and makes it impossible for the customer to have confidence in what the staff tells them. Another major issue was the tire warranty. The department did not provide me with the original warranty documentation or clearly explain the warranty terms and specifications at the time I needed that information. When I questioned the warranty, I was essentially told that I was "just supposed to know" what the specifications and requirements of the tire warranty were. That response was incredibly frustrating and completely unreasonable. Customers should not be expected to somehow know the detailed terms, conditions, limitations, and specifications of a manufacturer's warranty without being provided the applicable documentation or having it properly explained to them. The way I was spoken to throughout this process was also extremely concerning. I was treated in an unbelievably condescending manner and repeatedly felt that I was being talked down to rather than treated as a paying customer deserving of basic courtesy and respect. What made the situation even more frustrating was the apparent difference in how I was treated compared with my father. The staff's tone and demeanor toward me, a female customer, were noticeably different from the way they communicated with my father. When my father was involved in the conversation, the condescending behavior that I experienced was not directed toward him in the same manner. I should not have to bring a man with me to receive respectful, professional, and straightforward customer service. Regardless of whether a customer is male or female, every customer should be treated with the same level of respect, patience, and professionalism. Being spoken to as though I was incapable of understanding the situation, while my father was treated differently, was both insulting and unacceptable. What makes this entire experience particularly frustrating is that these issues involve multiple failures: inaccurate information allegedly being communicated to an outside company, a written price that was later not honored, warranty information that was not properly provided, and communication that was unnecessarily condescending and disrespectful. I expect a service department to provide accurate information, honor written quotes, provide customers with applicable warranty documentation, clearly explain important warranty requirements, and treat every customer with professionalism and respect. None of those expectations should be unreasonable. Overall, this was an unacceptable customer service experience. The lack of consistency, accountability, transparency, and basic respect left me with no confidence in this tire service department. Based on this experience, I would not return to this department for future tire services, and I would not recommend it to others. Customers deserve better than being given conflicting information, having written prices changed after the fact, being expected to "just know" warranty requirements, and being talked down to when they ask legitimate questions

Honesty: +++++ Quality: +++++…read moreSpeed of repair: +++++ Value/price: +++++ Updating my review. My first was with mowers. I did what you are not supposed to do and threw a tarp instead of snow threw my two stage snow blower and bent the blade. Brought it in and had the initial diagnosis and hoping the axle is not bent too. Within 6 hours (This is February) John called me to tell me the good news and then the bad news. A few other things like bearings scrape plate and skid plates (he said he would just flip them so no need to buy parts for that) would need replacing. The minimum was the scrape plate to do but the labor to do all of this was one hour ($80) and it would take him a total of an hour to do everything so why wait. John was very honest so I didn't hesitate to have him repair everything. With it being mid winter he said it would be 5-10 days but it was only because he is waiting on the parts. Not bad at all. Check out his facility. Very clean and organized which tells me John takes pride in his work and business. With spring almost here, I wasn't sure if I would be able to try the snow blower since being fixed. Well, Wisconsin and yet another heavy snow fall and I was able to try it out. I can say, it runs like new and I can't remember it ever running like this. All the things bad on it I just got use to. I think overall, this was a really good value in terms of price and quality. You can't put a price on honesty too and I haven't done a great deal of work with John, but I trust him.

I will on occasion come here for parts and advice. Jon is a great guy, very helpful and pleasant to…read morediscuss things with. Highly recommend JAS power.
