Love this place! Matt at the counter is awesome. The ladies in the office are great and they have a couple dogs that are cute and very friendly. On a couple of occasions now I've talked with two of the techs in the back, an older guy and a young guy. They are very friendly and knowledgeable about a wide variety of equipment. I brought my manual start Toro Powerlite snowblower in for starting problems I could not resolve, plus the scraper bar was shot. They said my engine was pretty much worn out, so they put a good used engine on it from a machine that another customer had just left there. And this engine had an electric starter! So now I have a machine I can start manually or electrically. But wait, there's more. They thought the rubber paddles on mine were a bit worn out, so they put on a better used pair they had laying around FOR FREE! They also thoroughly cleaned the carb (by ultrasonic method) from the new (used) engine they put in, plus cleaned the fuel tank to ensure no starting problems. All told, they put a lot of work into my machine, including the engine with electric start, for under $200, which I thought was pretty good. It starts and runs like a champ now, just in time for today's snowstorm. Previously I'd only bought parts here a couple of times. And now I know their service/repairs are top notch too! read more

The worst customer service team I've ever dealt with! I brought my snow blower in because it was under warranty from the manufacturer. They agreed to fix it under warranty. When I came to pick it up the charge was $150! They never called me or updated me on the service (which took longer than they estimated) or the charge. The truth is, it was not the charge that made me angry, but they way they handled it and their attitude. It was 'pay it or get out and we keep your snow blower'. read more

I'm a fan of this local, 3rd generation family business. The day before Christmas Eve is not a fantastic time to be shopping for a snow blower. I wanted to walk into a business, buy a machine that was assembled, and go home and get to work on the driveway. And this is exactly what Medinger offered. Joe Medinger was informative regarding different brands and models. He put gas and oil in the machine I bought, gave me a brief lesson on how to operate and even loaded it into the bed of my truck. And 30 minutes after walking into Medingers, I was clearing off my driveway. I did not receive any of the poor service the other Yelpers did. In fact, the previous reviews almost kept me away. But I'm a supporter of local businesses. I'm I sure glad I gave them a chance. You should too! read more

Horrible customer service. I took a string trimmer in because it would not start. They said it would be a week to fix and they would call when it was done. NO ONE CALLED. I called after two weeks. They said it was done for over a week. I Also went in to pick up shear pins for my snow blower. I stood by the counter for five minutes (There were two people behind the counter) they did not even acknowledge that I was there . I left and went to Seedway. I will never go there again. I'll go to Bill's, much better service. read more

I've never had work done here because I do my own. That being said, they know a lot about many brands of machines, and they have a LOT of parts in stock. When they don't, it's only been a few days to order what I needed. They have always been honest and helpful when I've been there. read more

I'm disabled on a tight budget , a barely 2 year old used snowblower is what I purchased from them for a fraction of new. Now going on four years no problem , just stopped in to have my to have tubes put in my tires less than two hours they call me back the work is done . So fast wasn't ready on my end to pick them up stopping in to day to get them love this place. Keep it up , customer for life. read more

DO NOT USE THESE GUYS. Unfortunately I did not look at reviews until after I was put through the same poor/unscrupulous service other reviewers were put through. I bought a brand new professional series Husqvarna chainsaw (90cc) for homeowner use (I'm not a professional, but I like having long-lasting equipment). When it failed under normal use (or in reality, very gentile use compared to professional users) on its THIRD USE, I brought it back J.H. Medinger for warranty service. I was told it would be about a week. I was surprised at the fast [promised] turnaround because most places were out 2 to 3 weeks. I gave him a chance to amend this promise by saying "really, that fast, most places are out 3 weeks!", and he just said, "nope, we have about a week backlog right now." Well, after 2 weeks (100% longer than promised), I called and asked for a status update. He told me they hadn't lokked at it yet. After 3 weeks and 2 days, I called back to find out they had looked at it and determined a blown engine. Over 300% longer wait than promised! I was using Husqvarna pre-mixed shelf-stable fuel. They found that the cylinder/piston had scoring, so the J.H. Medinger guy told me it was my fault/non-warranty because I didn't mix the fuel/oil properly. I told him it was impossible because I was using fresh Husqvarna premixed fuel. I asked for another explanation for the scoring and he said there was no other possibility. I asked what I should have done differently and he had nothing. He threw up his hands and said there was nothing he could do. I took the saw back in 100 pieces in an oil soaked cardboard box, and had to pay him out of pocket for an hour of their time. This was a $1200 saw, using [overpriced] premixed fuel! To summarize, DO NOT TRUST J.H. MEDINGER, DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS ESTABLISHMENT, DO NOT BE VICTIMIZED; YOU WILL LIKELY REGRET IT... and lastly, maybe reconsider buying Husqvarna equipment? I mean, if the equipment fails this easily, and they are OK giving a dealership to guys like J.H. Medinger, should you trust them? read more

I prefer smaller shops to big business, especially when family owned. I was excited to find this place. I took in a small electric chainsaw saw for a new chain. (The chain is not a standard stock item anywhere that I can find.) The man was polite and professional, and offered to sharpen the one on the machine. All good until I go to use it. Within 3 min, the chain flew off and is lost in a tree line. Thankfully no one was hurt. When I called and spoke with the guy, didn't even get a fake apology. I won't be back. Summation: Avoid this place unless you know what you're doing and can verify the work was done correctly. But in that case you'd probably just do it yourself. read more

They suck like i told him on the phone guy behind the counter looks like als toy barn from toy story eating free popcorn he said he fixed my carbonator but it was dented when it came back then he said he changed my oil which he did but he flipped my machine to fill it to the rim which ur suppose to not do they destroyed my off n on switch they take forever to do stuff when they dont do nothing they suck on so many levels dont use them at all read more

I would NOT recommend going here. They took 3 weeks to fix the lawnmower, which I understand that people get busy, but initially we were told about 1 week. They claimed to have "fixed it", but clearly they didn't even look at it and just threw a new spark plug in there (I already replaced the spark plug 2 days before giving it to them, so I'm not sure why they did that. We got it back and it was the same issue.... nothing was fixed. So after a bill for $120 (which they should have asked us for approval because for a $300 I wouldn't have agreed to the repair), we took it back and the different guy at the counter realized that they didn't really do anything the last time. This time I believe they actually looked at and admitted that they put a used part it in before, and they would put a new part (float) in this time. So clearly it wasn't tested after they "fixed it" the first time. I did read the reviews prior to bringing my lawnmower in there, but maybe they are from friends and/or family, because they guys just don't care at all. read more
