I have had this company out once to troubleshoot a problem and the technician did a good job explaining everything to us, and recommending a course of action. A couple of months later I called for an urgent need to have my air conditioning checked (it stopped working) but was unable to get an immediate appointment. GREAT quality work and AMAZING customer service! They are the best! I had a very old system. They came in and quoted a full new system but also gave us options to get a few more years out of the old system. This helped us spread out the cost. Once the old system finally died, they saved us money and worked on our schedule to put in the new units, and the follow up to make sure everything was working at its best was unmatched. Not happy with this company. Had Specialize come out to look at my heating unit last weekend to find out why my furnace was not lighting. I was told that the gas valve was bad and needed to be replaced, but that parts were not available because of how old it was. The tech told me that because he would not be able to get the replacement part, that I would have to replace the entire unit at the cost of $3,395. I paid them their $49.95 service fee and sent them on their way. I then went online and looked up furnace parts. I called the first place I found, gave them the model # of the furnace and the part that was needed to find out that these parts are still being made and are still available. I will gladly pay the $495 for the replacement part, but I will definitely call another company to install it. Thanks for nothing Specialized! read more

Jay came out to service my air conditioner which was not working efficiently. He quickly diagnosed the problem and found the part that went bad. He explained what the part did and other things that I could have him do to make the system run better. He was just offering options, never trying to upsell me on anything. He seemed like he genuinely cared about having a happy customer. Due to a scheduling conflict I had, I was unable to have the refrigerant added after the part was installed. Jay took notes of when I would be available and said someone would call me later that night or in the morning to put me on the shedule. Sure enough, first thing in the morning I received a call and was seen just a few hours later. My system is working better than it has in years. I have lived in my home for many years now. I've had various companies come out to repair or maintain my system. I have jumped around from company to company because either the workers made it seem like a chore to do the work or wouldn't follow through on appointment times. We needed a whole new ac system including new duct work etc. after years of being without air conditioning. I contacted several people on yelp and set up appointments for quotes throughout the day. I received a response right away from the owner for an appointment and was notified that the technician was on his way the day of the appointment . Marcus showed up on time and was very professional and thorough with what we needed and made sure we got the brand we wanted and that everything would be taken care of. He gave us an estimate without pressure and was on his way. After all of the quotes we received we chose Specialize because they were by far the most affordable and we were getting everything we wanted and needed. We liked that they didn't have to get back to us with an estimate. Marcus knew right away how much it would cost and they didn't play games. They also said it would take no more than 2 days when others said it would take about 5. They came prepared with 4 people to do the job. It actually took an 8 hour day and the next day about 4 hours. The technicians were knowledgeable about their job, courteous and worked fast getting everything done right. They made sure our system was working and that we were satisfied before they left. This company is amazing. Not only did they do the job fast and professionally, their customer service is top notch. Josh was the one who came to my home for an in home estimate. He called me after the person who was suppose to show up didn't. He came to my house last minute (and I bet after a long day) and took his time and explained their services and their units. I got quoted by two other places and not only were their prices better, they explained everything with so much more detail that that alone really motivated me to hire them for the job. The process was quick and easy and Josh was so patient and helpful. When it came time to put in our brand new unit, all the workers where professional. They did everything so fast but so well. Keep in mind to that my home never had an AC unit, yet the guys did it no problem. They kept my home clean while working and when they were done too. I interviewed 3 different representatives from air conditioning companies for a brand new unit & split unit and immediately knew that I was going to go with Specialize Heating and Air. The professionalism, sincerity and overall attention to detail displayed let me know that we'd be in good hands. Josh said the job would be done quickly, and honestly I questioned it because all the other contractors/companies that we dealt with said the same thing and it was never true. Well...in this case, Josh blew them out of the water!! Not only were our new units installed quickly but it looked and felt great! All the Specialize staff was very considerate and helped keep the house CLEAN! Which was really important to me! My husband and I have contacted Josh several times since then for random questions (about how to use the remote), and once to come back out because our (mediocre) electrical contractor made a mistake that was going to impact the AC. Once again, without hesitation Josh sent someone out to make sure the units they installed would not be impacted. I HIGHLY recommend Specialize!! They still have the old school mentality of standing by their product, their work and putting the customer first!! Ac went out so I called these guys, I made an appointment and they didn't show up. I gave them another chance based on the reviews and how close they were to my house. Guy shows up and quoted me just short of $1000 dollars for four pounds of 410A recharge and leak repair. Really? Needless to say I got a better deal, much better deal. Im sure these guys are good but if you are going to quote such a great amount then try to sell me a club membership for $130 more on top of $1000 dollars you could take your business somewhere else. Don't use this company. Within days of installing a complete heating and air conditioning unit, water began to leak through a bedroom ceiling. They sent out a handyman who stated it was nothing and just needed some ceiling repair to replace the wet part. Except the leak continued and soon involved the entire 150 sq feet of ceiling and 2 walls of the room, carpet, a bedroom mattress and more. Repeated calls to the company were not answered. We finally had to get our homeowner's insurance involved. In reading through the copies of the service reports that were left, the adjuster found that one of their technicians stated that the air conditioning water collection pan was installed backwards. Bottom line: the cost to repair the damage came to $15,000.00 and over a month to repair. Good thing we had homeowner's insurance ! Needless to say, the company never followed up nor did the one year service we were promised at no cost. I just had the unit inspected. The new service company found another $1,700.00 of needed repairs including that the air filtration unit was never hooked up and that wood was used to support the unit where its metal portion generates heat (can you say fire hazard?). Stay away from these guys. read more

I've been anxious to write this review about Specialize Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. in Ontario, California to say how happy I am with this company and the work they did for me. From the moment I made that first phone call and spoke to Lorenzo, everything was handled in a friendly, considerate, professional and timely manner. On a Monday morning, a few minutes before 8AM, after being referred by another happy customer, I called Specialize to ask how soon someone could come out to my condominium to discuss our air conditioning issues and needs, and was very happy to be told that Cory would be arriving within a couple of hours, by 10:00 AM, which he did. Since my a/c unit was 33 years old, I knew it was probably best to look into a whole new system and after discussing a few different options, I decided on the one that would best accommodate our needs and Cory quoted me a decent price. AND before Cory left, he also fixed a small problem I had with my kitchen sink disposal, which was so helpful and saved us a few dollars. My new a/c installation was scheduled for the following Wednesday which made me happy, since it had been 100 degrees and above for days. The team of 3 guys arrived at about 10:30 AM, along with the crane, and in spite of it being one of the hottest days of the year, they got everything installed and finished by around 3:00 PM. I have a split system, so that also meant working on the roof, after the crane helped place the condenser unit up there. All in all, we have been very happy with our new Trane system and just want to say that if you want a quality job done with quality people and products, I recommend you give Specialize a call. Just received an annual system check up with Specialize technician Tony. Service was excellent. We received a discount on the bill. I usually have questions about what the techs do when they assess these systems and Tony was very gracious and clear with his explanations of his work. He also cleaned up the smudges on the access panel to the attic which my wife really appreciates. My first time working with Tony is 5 Stars plus! Great job and thank you! I have been doing business with Specialize since 2015 and have referred them to many of my friends and colleagues.
