Stopped in for my yearly eye exam and it was a breeze! I booked a few days in advance via phone…read more(where you chat with a robot, but hey it was easy). Following that, I was sent an appointment confirmation via email as well as a quick form to fill out ahead of time. I can't say enough about the friendliness of the entire staff upon arrival. Like exceptionally happy and kind, all of them! I was checked-in a browsed the walls of glasses for a few short minutes before being called back. For the first portion of the exam, a technician performs a few basic tests including color sensitivity, glaucoma (or "air puff" test), and something that measures your vision prescription. From there, the doc calls you into the office for the rest of the exam. He uses a light to checks your pupils responsiveness and the surface of your eyes for signs of dryness/damage. Then comes the well-known part of the eye exam where doc asks you to read a chart filled with numbers and letters, followed by placing a big lens refractor in front of you and asking which lens changes seem to make your view of the chart better/worse. Easy as that! Oh and if you're in for contacts (like me) there's an additional portion of the exam where you put those in and doc checks to make sure they're fitting okay. All in all, it took a whole 10 minutes. Lots of contact options available through Visionworks, including all sorts of colored ones if you're into that. I actually had blue ones for awhile which was fun! Plenty of glasses to choose from too, plus prescription sunglasses. Takes roughly a week to get your order, in which they'll text you when it's all ready for pick up. Exam (without insurance) costs anywhere from $110-$150 depending on what you need. I believe there are add on tests on offer too, like the pupil dilation to deeper exam your retina/behind the eye. Note: there's only street parking available, so sometimes it's a block or two way.

This store is so beautiful and the owner Emma is absolutely lovely…read more I did an internet search children's store in Milwaukee, which is what led me here. This was the #1 store I wanted to get to whilst we were visiting Milwaukee and I'm very glad I was able to make it. They carry some great brands here; Rylee + Cru, Quincy Mae, and PEHR are just a few that you'll find. I went a little bananas and spent a pretty penny, but it's not my fault--they were having an impromptu "garden sale" and they also had some of the most beautiful children's dresses I've ever seen. I found a seersucker tunic that is REVERSIBLE and I could not pass it up. There was a dress that was made from the same fabrics, which I originally bought for a friend's daughter but will probably end up keeping for my own. I can't wait to see her in all the stuff that I got. When we came in the owner's family was in, including her nephew, and my kiddo and he chased each other around the store and played whilst they were there. That was easy because this store has a children's area where the kids can play. This is a semi unusual thing to see in a children's store, though I'm not sure why. So whilst I shopped my kid was able to play at the kitchen and table and baby buggy and stuff, which certainly helped me spend more money but was nice that she had something fun to do as well. I love this store, and will be back anytime I'm in the vicinity. And they have a great web presence so that'll make it even easier to support this great little children's store.

I was assured Dr Petrou could perform this testing and that I should plan for an hour to and hour and a half for our appt. The appt before us ran long, and so we were not seen until 45 min after our scheduled time. Upon giving background Dr. Petrou suggested we were there seeking a "second opinion" to my daughter's standard eye exam she had had earlier this year, rather than acknowledging our concerns as an escalation of care. She then explained that a more extensive examination would take about an hour which was not what was allotted for by the receptionist(s) scheduling but that she would proceed with a standard evaluation. I declined to point out at that moment that it felt like we were being rushed along to make up for her prior long appt. As it became clear through the exam that this was another standard Vision exam and not a Neuro-ophthalmologic evaluation I voiced my concern and was reassured in a somewhat condescending manner that this was a Neuro-visual evaluation. The gist was that my daughter should change lifestyle (sleep, hydration, diet) and hold her phone further away from her face (ignoring our indications that symptoms presented year-round when school-schedule was in place). She also made a snide comment about "Dr Google and AI diagnoses. The receptionists and Dr. should be aware of their areas of expertise and not take in business that is beyond the scope of their practice. We left very frustrated with our experience and have now booked an appt with a Dr. with the correct credentials, title, and testing capabilities. As for any future standard care, you can cross this office off our list of candidates. It seems, based on their ratings, that they do basic optometry very well, but they should know what is not in their wheelhouse too.

I entered the store with a bag of items I needed to return, with a store receipt from the day before. I grabbed a jug of laundry soap and proceeded to the line. I told the associate that I had a return with receipt for the items in the bag. She told me that I violated the Dollar Tree return policy by walking through the store with a bag. I explained that I was unaware of that policy and she told me "it's obvious that you can't walk into a store with a return without announcing it." I've read the Dollar Tree return policy and it does not mention anything about making announcements. Then she proceed to tell me that I could not leave the store with the items that I had previously purchased. I said absolutely not and told her she should check the security camera or whatever she needed to do but she was not taking my items. Then she said she had to wait for the line to clear out. I asked her if she could turn off the light so the line would stop forming. She said no, because then the other associate would be backed up. So what? I'm just supposed to wait until zero customers are there? Then, she told the only other associate working a register to go on break. I didn't have all day so I just grabbed my bag and left and will deal with it another day at another Dollar Tree.
