The poor ladies at the front desk clearly live in terror of this new optician and the vibe is really sad in there, to see how she treats them and how she treats the patients. I decided to follow Mindy, the previous optician, to her new practice Oculus, in South Pasadena. Mindy is the smartest, kindest, most competent optician I've ever seen and I have already called for my first appointment at Oculus, where it was such a breath of fresh air to call and talk to friendly people who clearly enjoy working there.

I always felt my regular glasses were too strong when working close to my computer, since I sit pretty close to the screen and my nearsighted prescription made things uncomfortable at that distance. The computer glasses have made an incredible difference. I also switched to scleral contact lenses, and they've been a total game changer. My disposable contacts just don't compare--I used to experience some blurriness with them. Dr. To explained why that happens, and the staff walked me through how to properly care for the new lenses, including how to insert and remove them. I can't imagine going back to my old contacts now. He does a very thorough exam every time and makes sure everything looks good with your eyes. I also appreciate that he's helped me out with extra contact packs when I've been running low. They take most insurance. I've been using VSP here with no issues. Pricing on contacts is also pretty comparable to other places, which is another reason I keep coming back. Overall a solid and reliable spot. Definitely recommend.
