I had an outstanding experience with Dr Christopher Long and his entire team at Pasadena Eye Medical Group. I came to see Dr Long for Cataract Laser Eye Surgery ( Evaluation and Surgical Procedure ) . Dr Long walked me through every step of the procedure answering all my questions with patience, kindness and expertise. The Laser Surgery went smoothly and the follow-up care was top - notch. I had the unfortunate experience dealing with optical. I needed a stronger Rx and the girl knowingly gave me the wrong contacts to try on a Friday (after waiting a week for them to come in) so had to wait until Monday to call back. She rewrote the RX wrong again. Had to call back multiple times to finally get the correct Rx written. Then she told me I was wrong based on my glasses Rx. Umm, then the glasses Rx is wrong as well! I had my next yearly appointment scheduled with Dr Pi and although the only issue I've had is waiting up to over an hour past my original appointment I just called and canceled and will never return to that office ever again. read more

Pros: Compassion and empathy A+. Eye exam. Very thorough. Office bright, clean. Doctor and medical team use the 'explain method.' Very calming, and reassuring. Cons: The in office optometrist. Once I got in, the first person that did all the testing was very disorganized and I had to wait 45 minutes to get into the appointment appointment! I had to finally ask what was going on because I had waited 45 minutes after getting there right on time. The quality of care was excellent once the doctor came in. read more

I came for my annual exam with Dr.Yu. I only have vision in one eye so the health of my eye is extremely vital. Dr. Yu did not check my prescription which is 2 years old. He only checked the pressure in my left eye because I asked. My previous ophthalmologist was concerned that if the pressure in my left eye was too low, the eyeball might collapse. I asked he had read the reports from my retina specialist as I have had retinal repair in my seeing eye in the past year. Dr. Yu replied that he didn't need to know as he was only concerned about what was happening in the front part of my eye and not in the back. When I asked about my prescription, he said I could make another appointment if I wanted that checked. I was very unhappy with my exam and his responses to my concerns. read more

Only a 4 today. Did not enjoy being "pushed" in testing equipment. But Dr. Pai is great

I really wanted to like this place. The staff and doctors were super friendly but unfortunately overcorrected my new prescription. After receiving it, I repeatedly informed the optical team that the prescription did not feel right and requested a complete recheck. Instead, my concerns were consistently dismissed, and I was given multiple trial lenses over several months (June - October) rather than being re-evaluated. Eventually, I sought a second opinion where I learned that my prescription had indeed been substantially overcorrected and that astigmatism in my right eye had been missed. My correct prescription for my left eye is -1.25, yet I had been prescribed -4.25. I'm sure this was a mistake on Pasadena's end, but it is concerning that this wasn't a red flag when I consistently brought it up to the optical team. I communicated multiple times that something felt off, but unfortunately, my concerns were not adequately addressed. This was disappointing, as I had hoped for a higher level of attentiveness and clinical caution from the optical center. read more

Dr. Yu is great but there was a back log in the office for my visit. My appointment was scheduled for 2:10 and I was not seen by Dr. Yu til 3:40. Way too long a wait. Not usually this behind but I hope they will remedy the timing of the appointments. read more

This review is for Dr. Christopher Long. I have seen him for both medical eye issues and glasses/contact prescriptions, and my experience has always been excellent. To be honest, I was initially surprised by how young he looked; and I'm not used to having super young doctors. But shortly after the conversation started, I just realized he is the most thorough, knowledgeable and patient eye doctor I'd ever had. And I can feel that he genuinely cares about the patients and wanted the best eye care for them. I'm so glad that we have a new great choice for eye doctor in the Pasadena community. read more

Front desk clerk seemed like she was new to how offices are are run, but the eye doctor (Dr. Vicky) was awesome and very attentive. I forgot to ask if they validate parking, for the attached outdoor parking lot nor did the front desk clerk ask if I needed it, so that hopefully tells me they don't. I forgot how much it is per minute or hour, but I was there awhile, so I paid $12. Clean facility and everyone was in their A Game and I will definitely return. read more

I had a wonderful experience visiting pasadena eye medical group. I originally had to wait 4 months for my first appointment but I called to see if there were any cancellations and the front desk checked and called me back and I was able to find an appointment the next day. The office is nice and clean and staff are friendly. The doctor was running late from his previous appointments but the staff checked in on me and made sure to explain what was causing the delay and how much longer I had to wait. I appreciated their efforts to keep me informed. Dr. Yu is very professional and kind and he listened to my concerns carefully and made sure all my questions were answered. I never felt rushed and felt confident in his treatment and care. I highly recommend! The only thing is, parking is very expensive at the facility ($1.50/15mins) so try to street park nearby and walk if you can. Or have someone drop you off if possible read more

The doctors a nice but one of the young girls at the front desk with dark hair is extremely rude. She has no business being the face of their company when you walk in the door she looks like she's miserable working there and gives the patients a condescending attitude followed by a smirk . I was seen promptly at my appointment time and the wait time to see the doctor was short. Everything was accomplished very efficiently.

All of the people working there are very nice, Cinthia is incredibly organized, and Dr. Pai is the best.

I think Dr. Khemician is very good, but the last two times I've been there, I've waited an hour and hour and a half, respectively, to see him. I may change providers or see him only for ophamologic matters and go elsewhere for optometry. read more

This review is based on not actually seeing the doctor, as after waiting over an hour from my appointment time for a simple eye exam, I had to leave to get back to work. There were so many people waiting that it was standing room only, with 5 people not having any chairs to sit in, and patients even waiting out in the hall and by the elevators. The only thing to conclude is a breakdown of the front office staff and scheduling team in this office. During check-in, you can see the sheet printed with everyone's names on it, and you can tell the exams were scheduled way too close together. On average, a comprehensive eye exam takes about 20 to 60 minutes. However, many more patients were scheduled per hour. Edit seems other reviewers had the same experience, and got the same attitude when they told the front desk they had to leave. read more
