We live in the Forney and for some reason this is our third association changes. During the storm, there were a bunch of trash cans that were scattered about and being good neighbors we picked up the trash cans and put it in front of the house so people can get them within a couple of days. Our neighbors were out of town and could not get the trash cans. The next couple of days we got a notice about trash cans being out in front. We emailed them to let us know and they wrote us a letter about our situation and our neighbor ended up taking the trash can. They have this thing where they have auto pay, but did not work for us. There system does not work. For some reason when they send us the bill, it usually comes in really late and have a couple of days to pay. They assessed us a late fee of $25 dollars and interest paid on top of that. We tried to contact them many times through emails and the phone, but they do not pick up. I guess like many home owner's association, they are there to make sure everyone complies with the rules and fast to react for people to fix it, However when it comes to contacting them can be a night mare. By far the worst HOA Management group. No in-person meetings, any questions are dodged or talked over. No plan to keep the homeowner's cost down or to maintain a proper appearance in line with the set codes. The only time the codes are enforced is when Management deems it beneficial to them. Makes being a homeowner difficult when you can't maintain a community to match the standards set in the Master Covenant. They are only concerned about the Board of Directors, which have been set by their voting system. I don't trust them. read more

I have been working with Jennifer Hansen for several years now. Over the time that I have been a member of the BOD for our HOA, we have gone through several coordinators. I felt as thought whenever we started to make an impact for our community, we have had a contact change. However, these last few years have really felt like a colloaboration and partnership with our management company and that is all thanks to Jennifer's dedication. Whether it is researching regulations regarding HOA laws or designing programs to assist with community outreach, Jennifer has been a real ally. I live in Chisholm Springs and our pool/gym was promised to be opened at the end of April. It wasn't. So we wait until Memorial Day which is the normal posted date to open. It wasn't. We send email after email after email with no response. No communication EXCEPT a letter in the mail reminding us of HOA dues. Which we have paid faithfully. Why has no one replied to the emails homeowners have sent? I am not the only one who has sent emails with no response! Also, why is our pool and gym being held hostage, it's way too hot to have kids cooped up inside all summer. Are they going to credit the days we've been without usage of our pool? Or even keeping it opened longer to compensate those days would work, it stays hot here way past Labor Day. In case anyone feels compelled to read/respond to this review, we have been using contact@spectrumam.com which is the email homeowners were TOLD to use to get in touch with someone. In summary, Spectrum AM is a greedy HOA company, takes your dues, doesn't grant the amenities you pay for, as well as the added bonus of no communication when you try to contact them. This HOA is a complete joke. Sent me a letter and photo of a 3x3 patch of dead grass on my almost quarter acre lot that had browned a bit. I had the grass installed 4 months ago and do to the Texas heat and water restrictions this 3x3 grass section didn't take. Winter is coming and all the grass will be dormant until spring... give me a break. I have lived here 10 years and have one of the nicest yards in the sub. They can KMA..what a joke read more

*Difficult to EASILY make payments on line. It appears membes have the option of setting up a spectrum account & paying by check, credit card, going into a store or by phone. I have an account & when I log in, it times out much to quickly 5 minutes--PLEASE. *Reaching a person by phone you almost have to be willing to be on hold over 30 minutes or make an appointment on line for a couple of days later. **I see no option to set up a recipient in my checking account offered by Spectrum HOA where I pay all my bills with CHASE which would make it much easier for the average homeowner. *I do *** Bottom Line: The service just to pay a bill is LACKING with SPECTRUM HOA ASSOCIATION MANAGEMENT *I value my time & it takes way too much time to get a bill paid!!! read more

Please don't, these Nazis won't allow my van to have a commercial wrap parked in my driveway, that is my only vehicle, my house, i pay my taxes,my dues!!!! You can not tell me i can't park my vehicle in my own house, i have a new born and that's how I support my family. It boils my blood to think about this HOA company. Lesson learned, never again!!! Wow. Where do I even begin? Refreshingly different is their motto. HA! My property has been under many hoa companies over the years.. But this one is the absolutely the worst!! No other HOA has caused us this much headache, spectrum takes the cake. This company manages hiddencove property in frisco. If you want to be ripped off and completely be stripped out of money for the tiniest of reasons, spectrum management is the best. The HOA board very difficult to get hold of. You have to go through many layers to even get a hearing meeting.Austin sies( our community manager is very responsive.so no complaints there. Thanks Austin ). We were bombarded with charges of 650$ in just a period of 3 months, for trash can located by the side of the house tucked away behind the bushes. The notifications were sent to the wrong address and as soon as we got aware of this situation we fixed this asap. We appealed and agreed to pay the violation fee but explained to them we haven't been even receiving this violation and requested the charges to be reduced to a more reasonable amount. The HOA board is COLD, HEARTLESS and find excuses to extort money from homeowners as much as possible. Despite numerous emails they simply refused! HOA board forgot they are supposed to work FOR the homeowners. These guys actively work AGAINST homeowners. I hope the HOAboard is able to sleep peacefully at night, knowing they ripped a family off with their Outrageous, exorbitant charges, especially during this very difficult, painful pandemic period. read more

Unfortunately for the homeowner, the decision has already been made for you when you find yourself stuck with Spectrum Association Management. Firstly, be prepared for completely unresponsive customer service. You have to realize that the homeowner is not considered their customer so they will treat you like garbage----they don't owe you anything in their mind. You're only "allowed" to contact them via email as they keep their phone numbers a secret. Requests for supervisor phone numbers or emails are refused. After a month of sending emails, you may finally get someone's attention and receive a response. More than likely, they will tell you that they've responded to your emails on various dates but not heard back from you. Apparently, Spectrum thinks that you're incapable of checking your inbox and your spam/quarantine folders. You'll never receive an apology for the delay. Secondly, they will direct you to their website "where all questions can be answered" and they can conveniently hide behind their attorney- generated legalese. Thirdly as mentioned in other reviews, they hide behind their HOA Board using them as "shields" to insulate Spectrum from direct homeowner contact. Presumably this is done because Spectrum's employee turnover is so high that virtually no one sticks around long enough to solve any problems. My advice to anyone is that you better LOVE the property that you're purchasing if Spectrum Association Management is the property management company that you will have to deal with. Your interaction(s) with them will not be pleasant. read more

Spectrum Association/Southwind Community Association: The worst customer service ever experienced. The website is made to deceive homeowners about their dues. You send them a check on the 15th of the month, they choose to deposit it after the month is over and slap you with a fee (both HOA and Spectrum fee). Try to contact them, you would have to wait almost 2hours. Even when talking to them, you would feel the lie in their ethical behavior!!!! Willing to provide proofs. read more

TERRIBLE management company, crooks that rack up fees and take advantage of people's misfortunes. I've been President of my neighborhood HOA for years and have nothing good to say about this company. I terminated their contract shortly after taking over my neighborhood HOA years ago. Once they get the accounts in collections they drag them out and rack up even more fees for prolonged periods of time before getting legal involved. Legal is inevitable when running an HOA but knowing your rights as a board is critical. If you want quick resolution to delinquent accounts make the collection process as short as possible with the management company and make sure the lawyers hired for the HOA on behalf of the management company have solid guidelines to follow. Be realistic with payments and dont be afraid to foreclose on homes. Spectrum takes advantage people's misunderstanding of what an HOA can do up to foreclosure and they cash in on prolonged collections. Also, if you think they have the HOA's best interest in mind you're in for a rude awakening. Their number one priority is to keep the money flowing from the HOA's bank account into theirs. DON'T LET YOUR MANAGEMENT COMPANY RUN THE SHOW, THEY HAVE ZERO AUTHORITY AND DON'T LET LEGAL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOUR LACK OF KNOWLEDGE! read more

IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING HIRING THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR HOA, EXERCISE CAUTION. I would recommend finding someone else. They decided that there was not enough money in the HOA reserve account to cover maintenance costs of common areas. They held a meeting to vote on a 150 dollar "Special Assessment". I work remotely and have not been made aware of a way to attend the meetings or vote by proxy so I was not able to contribute my vote. The only email based communication that was sent regarding this charge was an explanation of the charge to come, but they did not actually email me a bill to confirm it was due. Because they only used conventional mail for the bill which I typically do not receive, they have stacked late fee after late fee on my account. They have even gone so far as to charge a $50.00 "Hand Delivery Charge" and a $120.00 Escalated Property Processing Fee", not to mention several $20.00 late fees. Now, they are showing a balance of $400.00 for a $150.00 fee that was not part of the agreement I signed when I purchased my property. They do not seem to understand, or care that this fee is outside of the typical annual HOA dues, and many residents are not aware of it. I have not asked them yet, but I would like to know if Spectrum Association Management pockets these fees, or if they go into the HOA account. If they keep the fees, then that completely explains why they are so excessive and predatory. read more

Poor communications. They hand out violation letters and then make it all but impossible to discuss with them directly. In between sitting on hold for inordinate amounts of time, and not receiving a call back when requested makes for poor service. I'd like to see SBB come back and manage our subdivision. read more

However, upon reassignment of our account to Shonna and working with her addressing the community needs (prompt and attention to detail responses) made an immediate impact on myself and the Board of Directors. The service sucks . My property is managed by this association. It is a gated property and the gate remote has not worked for the last 2 months . Multiple calls did not resolve this after 2 months . The gate remains out of order almost all the time . I pay a lot for HOA and it is so bad . I am just not sure how these companies survive . read more

Your telephone NON- response time is horrrible! I have been on hold over thirty minutes trying to get a response from a real person. This happens every- time I have called about anything. You need more customer service people to answer questions. Today my friend and I went to the pool and wee do most mornings and we were locked in. People were trying to get in and could not and we could not get out. We go in the mornings to walk in the pool. Today was a nightmare. We are both in our late 70's We called the number listed for Spectrum and it was not the right number. We were patient and finally in desperation we called 911. We were is the shade but I have a headache from the heat. The rescue squad came and was able to open the gate. You will have to send someone down to check the gate and make sure is operating correctly. We love having the pool but do not like your NON customer service! read more

Giving this HOA only one star. We are based in Frisco, TX. We previously had SBB Management in our neighborhood, they were just as awful! This HOA has raised our dues with no real additional incentives. When we started receiving notification that our HOA was changing, we did our Due Diligence in trying to follow-up on our dues to make sure our account was current. After several phone calls, we were able to receive information that our account was OK and no dues were needing to be paid. Then, WHAM! We receive a Past Due notice with a Late Fee added on. Attempted several times to get in touch with the neighborhood manager, and after several messages left-he still never returned our call-but had one of his assistance reach out to us. We had to nearly beg for a measly Late Fee to be waived to due THEIR ERROR! This company is already off to a bad start and after reading the reviews from the San Antonio, TX area, it doesn't look good.. I question some of the "Good" posted reviews for the Dallas.
