They make it a pain to cancel your internet service. The process takes 20 minutes or more on the phone which is ridiculous. They will ask you: "Why are you canceling?" And if you say you are switching to another company, e.g. Google Fiber, they will waste 5 minutes of your time trying to convince you why their internet service is better than the other company. The simplest answer you can tell them is: "I'm going off the grid and don't need internet anymore." Even then they will try twice to sell you a different internet package, and a bundled package. Even when you tell them "I don't want any services from Spectrum" they insist on reading their upsell script to you. I had pretty good internet service with them while it lasted, but the cancellation process is beyond annoying. read more

The best part is the store uses AT&T Internet. They don't even use their own crappy services. Facts! What a joke. Brought all my equipment in and still had to engage in a 24 hour waiting period to return again to close things out. It can't come as a big surprise that Spectrum provides such poor service and I write this with the hopes that someone from Corporate will pay attention. I have used Spectrum not because the are better, but simply because they are the only option for where we live. I have used AT&T in the past and not that they were great at customer service, but certainly better than Spectrum... but I just don't have the option of using them. We have two accounts at different locations. We have been waiting on our house to finish and have been renting elsewhere. Our house was nearing completion so we set up service at the new house... by the way, no joke, that took four weeks with four separate visits. The fourth person to come out actually knew what he was doing and was great. But the first three... well, one didn't show up and the other two just didn't know what they were doing. We are finally about to move into our new house so we want to cancel service at the rental location. We went into the store figuring this way we wouldn't spent an hour on hold with Spectrum and there would be no confusion. And of course... we were wrong. First, when you walk in, you have to "sign in". There were plenty of service personnel who could help... but they wouldn't until you signed in on some tablet. Somewhat intrusive... but there is no way around it. And of course, no sooner did we enter our information into the tablet and we were called. Again, just another way of Spectrum wasting your time. We explained we were terminating service at one location and keep the other. Simple enough and the person who was helping seemed to understand completely. He made the visit very simple and when we walked out... we were even a bit puzzled at how simple it actually was. But of course... NOTHING is simple when it comes to Spectrum. When we got home, it was only to find out EVERYTHING had been cancelled. Not just at the one rental home, but at both locations. Despite us asking the person that it was just one location being cancelled... everything was cancelled. Now for some, this might just be an inconvenience. But when you run a home business and you depend upon the wifi and not to mention if you have "smart" equipment like garage door openers, security cameras and more all connected and now are inoperable because you've lost everything from your service provider... this can be incredibly inconvenient to say the least. So, I have to make the dreaded phone call to a Spectrum representative. Three hours later and I can't even count how many people I was transferred to, I was informed they did mistakenly cancel both accounts when it was supposed to be just one. So, now I have to start an entirely new account. For some reason, Spectrum says they cannot restart the older account and have to start all over... which by the way comes with a $40 new service fee! I can only wait for the day when AT&T extends their service to this area and I'll leave Spectrum in a nanosecond. Again, AT&T has their issues to with customer service, but in the more than 15 years I was with them previously, I never had the problems I've encountered with Spectrum in the past 18 months. Again, I am sure this comes as no surprise and it's more wishful thinking on my part that someone from Corporate will read this and actually do something about the way they conduct themselves. I have found this particular store to be very effective and efficient in helping me accomplish a very complicated transition from apartment to apartment. I've not always had honest dealings with other aspects of Spectrum and Faith, who has been moved to another store unfortunately, was the main reason for my great experience. I've gone back since and so far so good, but still need an issue resolved so will be back. This store is in a good location but all else is a fail. 1. Not customer friendly or oriented 2. Unwilling to correct their mistakes 3. Inept and ignorant staff 4. This may be my lucky day! But what do we look for when going to an internet supplier storefront? I personally want to get in and out quickly, have my problem solved at the spot, have friendly knowledgeable staff assist me, find nearby parking easily, bonus if it's a newly renovated or is a new establishment. Spectrum met all my needs today. Upon arrival, you put your information on the iPad and they will assist you accordingly. There's a screen that shows your name and order so there's no confusion on who should be helped first. Spectrum staff noticed me walking in cluelessly and told me to use the iPad first. I was then promptly called by Faith. She asked me why I was there (to pick up a modem) and casually said she saw me using my phone, she wonders who we have as our phone provider. I don't feel pushed at all and appreciate her effort to ask and see if there's a better deal. Faith is such a gem and Spectrum is lucky to have her. This location is a lot less of a hassle than you think it would be. It's in the Domain, so everything is crowded and parking is a nightmare, right? Turns out there's a parking garage right behind the Spectrum store. And at least on Tuesday afternoon, I was able to walk right in and get a replacement TV remote and a new cable modem. The staff was friendly and I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. The only negative was that, as usual, the replacement modem wasn't activated despite the store staff saying they had. Thus, I had to place a call to tech support to activate the modem. read more

Maintenance guy shows up at my door looking for the pedestal. Showed him where it was and he said he just needed to check the neighbor's connection. Next thing I know my internet is down. Went out and told him and he says "I know." What?!?! No concern at all - he just took the customer offline without any notification. Terminated my active work session and couldn't care less. When I got on him for not bothering to ask me if this was OK he got his panties all in a bunch and says "OK, how about I just go to lunch and leave it down!" Told him "Go ahead, you do that." He just pouted. What an ignorant loser. There's a lot more, but suffice it to say these people are absolutely abysmal. Well, here is the funny thing about spectrum. Had there services at my apartment for 5 years now and it's been awful the entire time. Intermittent outages, and overall slow speeds ranging between 20-40MB. I've complained a bunch of times and reset things and changed the units out and got nowhere. I pretty much gave up. Because of the location it's convenient to walk through and I figured I'd go in and at least complain to somebody to feel better about myself. Lol Wound up speaking to Suzi who absolutely made my day. She was enjoyable to speak with while being extremely professional. I was pleasantly surprised by the entire experience. She actually cared that our service has been so bad and immediately made suggestions to help. We went home and replaced both units and for the first time in 5 years did a speed test getting the numbers we've been paying for. 450+MB My internet is now amazingly fast. Before the Quarantine, my employer required me to work from home, so I had to get WiFi. They gave me what I need and the WiFi has worked smoothly! I dig having WiFi in addition to cabled internet. Now I shall address Spectrum in general. When I first got my internet installed, we had some bumps, so the agents struggled to get my service running, but they ended up getting it going. Right before Quarantine, my internet modem wasn't working, so an agent came out, and he was helpful and agreeable, and he replaced the modem. Thank you, sir, as the internet has enriched both my personal and professional life during this Pandemic. The ads get annoying, as they send you letters saying "urgent" on the enveloped so you get worked up thinking that you're going to lose service or something like that, but the letter pitches an upgrade. This paragraph is all the criticism I have for Spectrum. I no longer needed my phone service, and I feared a hassle, but the agent on made removing it simple! Spectrum's speeds serve my needs! Spectrum's service is up 99% of the time, so how can you ask for more? I wish all the people in my life were on game 99% of the time; how blessed my life would be if that were the case! The one star is for the new facility only. Three employees scheduled for work but when we entered the facility only one was working the other gentleman and young lady just stood taking to each other. We just need to drop off equipment nothing else the sign in board has 10 customers on it two names highlighted in yellow so that left eight but it was only 4 customers in the store to include me and my husband so the rep on the phone cancel the wrong cable box so we already spent about 45 mins on the phone until we got a person with knowledge who saw the service had been canceled In error now we have to sit and look two employees standing around talking with customers waiting. Spectrum what is really going on your customer phone service SUCKS and you have this fabulous new building with employees that SUCK I see why you over charge for the service you provide. I moved into a new house 2 years ago and set up Spectrum. When they sent out their receivers they sent 4 instead of 2. After sending them back to spectrum I assumed the issue was resolved, nope. They have been billing me an extra $22 a month this whole time. When I discovered it I called to have it resolved and all they would credit me after over billing me almost $400 is a $44 credit. I've had AT&T fibre and Spectrum INTERNET in the same apartment. The AT&T fibre has a MUCH BETTER connection. My Spectrum connection goes in and out constantly. Spectrum's customer service is great, but their internet connection is awful. Even after they replaced the router. Regarding their cable TV (which I can live without), the sound goes in and out on several channels. They tried to fix it, but they couldn't. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. read more

We been with TimeWarner/Spectrum the entire time we've been in our home (28yrs) and the previous home (3yrs). Maybe longer. I recently "upgraded" our hardware that was 3 yrs old: 2 cable boxes (1 with DVR), 1 cable modem, and 1 wifi router. What a mistake. Keep your older cable boxes. The "upgraded" cable boxes no longer have: 1) a time display: even though the previous box's auto dimming feature never worked properly (random bright/dim), we did like having the current time displayed in those rooms. 2) the key lighting on the remote doesn't last more than a second after you pushed the last button: no ability to change. No light-only button on the remote, so you have to push another button, with your hand in front of the remote so the box doesn't react to that button, to get a light. 3) previous equipment backed up an appropriate amount after you fast-forwarded in a recorded program, so that it allowed for reaction time between you "seeing" where you wanted to stop, and when you actually pushed the stop button. Nice feature now gone. 4) for some reason, recording series on the new DVR is nigh-near impossible from what I can find. 5) not able to stop a recorded program mid-program and delete it immediately if you don't want it. You either need to FF all the way to the program's end for a delete button to show up on-screen, or you need to Exit watching, then find the recorded program again on your DVR, and then delete. 6) no dedicated Favorites button on the remote any more. 7) and getting all the new equipment up and running took several hours and several phone calls with no instructions provided when I picked it up. I'll end there. There's probably more lost features I'm forgetting. And, all of the less than perfect functions/interfaces like Search that was on the older equipment is still with the new stuff. All in all, a much degraded experience now, while at the same price. Thanks Spectrum! read more

I cautiously rate this 4 of 5 stars. We've had Spectrum for only a year but so far they've been great. There have been a couple of minor issues but they responded quickly and solved the problems. Soo.... I guess I can give them 4 of 5. Way better than AT$T, that's for sure. I wish there were another provider besides these two. Because I've tried at$t many times over the last 20 years. Once we had gone through everything necessary to get our phones, we were told that the had to SHIP them to us (when we were standing right there - and YES they had them in stock). I have never had as many issues with such an incompetent company as I have with Spectrum. No one ever knows what's going on, it's never the same story twice. Spectrum keeps calling me about $103 charge for "unreturned" equipment. I have been on the phone more than half a dozen times after they screwed up in August-November 2020. I moved to an apartment that had bulk billing, and they shipped out my cable box to me - they claimed I could not go to a store and pick up at that time because there "were no cable boxes" at the stores closest to me. Not a problem, I'll wait for you to send it. I never received the first box. After more than six weeks time elapsed they sent me another box out and I finally received during the first week of November. No issues until I returned the box end of August 2021 - I moved out of that apartment complex and into a new house. I returned my equipment to 11920 Alterra Parkway 78758. Received my receipt. I emailed the receipt one time, and even took it back to the store - and was dumb enough not to hold on to a copy. That is absolutely my fault. They asked if I had two boxes; I said no - and explained the above. They "took care" of it, but now I'm still getting calls from Spectrum about this account. Every time they say "oh it must be on a different account we don't see those notes" - and then get transferred between Residential, customer service, bulk billing, and managers. Every time I ask them to put in writing once it's completed, but they miraculously can't send an email to me that states it's resolved. Last time I spoke with a manager, approx. 3 weeks ago, she said she'd put a 50$ credit on my account because of all the troubles. They keep clearing this account or charging me, but they never have the right story. I still haven't seen that $50 credit. I don't owe any equipment. I returned my cable box as soon as I moved out of those apartments, just before Labor Day 2021. I never had two cable boxes, because the first shipment never arrived. I want Spectrum to clear this up, settle my account, take this charge off my name/credit score, and provide proof that it's done. read more

Spectrum sold my elderly parents a bundled plan a couple of months ago. They didn't tell my parents that they needed the dvr service to record shows. I was visiting them this weekend and they asked me how to record programs. When I realized they didn't have this package, I called Spectrum. They could only provide this service at $12.99 per month as opposed to the $4.99 it would have cost my parents when they first signed up. I relayed the situation to Spectrum and they would still not honor the $4.99 monthly fee even when I told them they hadn't relayed this to my parents at the beginning.
