Spectrum has the worst customer service ever. Have been try to get a small problem resolved, for 4 days, via phone and internet...no resolution to date. When I called customer service, the representative spoke English with a pronounced accent. She obviously did not understand my problem, said she would call me back...4 days and still waiting for that call. Service has gone down in recent years. Constant loss of service. Switched to a new service. Attempting to cancel spectrum but the only way to do it is by phone. Been on hold for over an hour. I called them from another phone and pressed the number for add service. They immediately answered. I asked to cancel and shake transfered back to the other line. Finally, after my call was answered, I asked T. to kindly disconnect my cable TV. After about an hour he gave up and told me to go to the store....here I sit, waiting again. My daughter is currently on the phone with spectrum to set up service. She has been on the line for 55 minutes and the process isn't done yet. So let me tell you that first she's moving into a apartment complex that gives you a contact person to set up service. She calls this representative, for spectrum he states she would receive a confirmation email for the router to be shipped. No email, not a call. Daughter called Thursday before the date no answer. Left message on representatives phone. So what brings her to frustration with spectrum gee I don't know!!! She calls to deal with another representative of spectrum to now spends her time giving offers and bundles without listening to what she asked for.... just internet. She continues on, leaving dead air, putting her on mute not asking to hold, for about 45 minutes. She stated all different prices, didn't know the shipping company, FedEx, Ups? This representative had no clue as to when the router would arrive to her residence. I mean come on, spectrum let's train your front line before you allow this kind of service. I wish I could give less than 0 stars but I cant. We signed up our business with Charter Business Internet in August 2015. It was good for about 2 months then everything went wrong. We have had 9 technicians on sites troubleshooting the problem. We have replaced 3 modems, all the wiring at the pole and all wiring in the office. We have tried boosters and new splitters. We have called literally 100s of times to let them know the internet is down. All they do is reboot the modem. It will work for about 2 hours then goes down again. It has been like this since October. We have begged and pleaded to get a high level engineer or field tech out to the area to find the source of the problem but they would never send anyone. We have been without internet in the office for the past 5 days straight and no one at Charter will help!!! This is costing our business a lot of money!!! We are trying desperately to find another provider in the area to provide internet but no one else services the area. I am VERY VERY disappointed with Charter and will not ever use them again. I recommend that you never use them either. Very friendly support staff, but they are useless in fixing the problem and the field guys are the same way. She is very professional and tells me that spectrum will take care of any problems and walks me this the process. They have finally I pray fixed my problem. These guys are terrible, please save you money most importantly. They try and provide a service, but it's so unreliable. I contacted customer service multiple times only to be given a time frame for when a tech would show up the follow day to determine the issue in their "window" of course!! They no showed 2 days in a row, saying that they fixed the outage in our area and therefore did not need to address each individual issue?? I've been dealing with Charter for the past 7 weeks. I had a new installation consisting of cable TV and high speed internet in May. To this day they cannot figure out why I get kicked off the internet 20+ times a day. Two techs swore there would be no charge and they would refer it to a supervisor. Supervisor stood me up twice. I get my bill today and there's not a $40 credit as promised for the on time guarantee and there's two $35 charges for when they did show up but didn't fix anything. They don't even deserve 1 star. The customer service reps. are very nice and tell you what you want to hear, but when the technicians do show up, they can't figure out the problem. I should have went with AT&T!!! read more

Don't waste your time with this company. They are all dishonest and unprofessional. I upgraded my service in March of 2021 to the gig plan, I was using the ultra 400. The guy upgraded my service and said that my router was sufficient for the speeds so no needing new equipment. He said to reset my router in 30 minutes and the speeds would be upgraded. So I did and they were, I was excited seeing the high 800s. Fast forward to now my internet has been slow this week so I reached out. I was told that my plan was ultra 400 and I said no I upgraded back in March. She said no the upgrade was cancelled for not picking up new equipment. I said I was never told about this I want to speak to a supervisor. So the supervisor Halli comes and tells me that it was unsuccessful but not cancelled. I'm so confused at this point and asking why did this happen as I was told it was done, my bills increased and speeds increased same day. She said it was never upgraded. They didn't take any responsibility for the sales rep, instead the supervisor Halli said quote " spectrum doesn't contact customers for issues you contact us". I said I didn't know I had an issue, my service was upgraded. Why didn't anyone call me to say I needed equipment or that it was cancelled or that problems arised? Nope, not a call, email or mail piece came for me. Instead she proceeded to deflect and blame me. I then asked to speak with a manager, they transferred me to a guy named Oak. He didn't help, he just said he was submitting my feedback for coaching opportunities. Moral of the story Spectrum is a unprofessional company, who condones lies by the sales reps and management backs it up. They didn't offer me any sort of resolution, no compensation for my bills, nothing at all but to pay 199 to upgrade to gig and to piss off essentially. I'm in shelbyville Tennessee so not many internet providers around but don't trust anything these people say, check your bills, double check everything. I have screenshots of all my interactions, including the March interaction about my upgrade and an email saying it was successful. This company is disgusting. They don't take accountability for their actions and lies, they deflect blame onto the customer. I've been a customer for over 2 years now, my next door neighbor is a spectrum worker as well. Sad, when I told him about my experience he was not shocked and said he was paid decent enough and ignored the bs he encountered. Inconsistent both download and upload speeds. I stream (uploading youtube / twitch) content online for partial income, and the terrible speed of 2 mb's can't even be kept stable by them. I've called a good ... 6 times at this point, one time they sent a guy out who just attached a splitter (lolwhy) to my jack & said there ya go and left. Every other time, my speeds have been 25-30% below what the max speeds are, they just sit at the 'passable' grade from the company so they say nothing is wrong on the phone. Ontop of that, i've noticed that literally EVERY SINGLE NIGHT, from 2:30 am to around 5 am my upload speed cant keep a consistent half a mb, literally forcing me to stop 'working' in a sense due to terrible speeds. Out of all the ISP's i've had the misfortune of dealing with, Charter easily takes the cake for WORST INTERNET PROVIDER. read more

I have nothing but great things to say about Charter Spectrum. I was with AT&T for 10+ years, and have since gone away from them in all aspects of communication (direct tv, U-Verse, and mobility). AT&T were liars and signed me up for contracts I never approved. I ended up switching to Spectrum for internet, and have had nothing less but great service (4 months now). I have constant connectivity, and their customer service has been great. For those leaving negative reviews, you may want to call Spectrum and see what channel you should use for your router. Channels 1, 6, 11, work best for me. Spectrum also works better with certain type routers, as I find I get awesome speeds and connectivity with the Netgear Nighthawk 1900. If you use a cheap router, you get what you pay for, especially if you live in a large home. If you question Spectrums service to your home, run an Ethernet cable from your PC directly into the charter-spectrum modem, next, go to google and type in "speed test", select the one that says ...ookla, and this will be your actual speed to your home. By doing this test, you remove all interference within your home and your computer's Wi-Fi. Give Spectrum a chance...!!! read more

Terrible service, worse support. The head-ends for several HD channels in the Conroe, TX area are faulty. They routinely go dark and don't get fixed for days (typically late at night or on weekends - on weekends it won't be until late Sunday or Monday morning before they're restored). No one cares. They argue that it's not the case, but the evidence is right there for them to see. They scratch their heads, call the maintenance guys and *boom* the channels are back a few minutes later, after they reboot that head-end. And yet it remains broken. I cancelled my TV service over this. Full HD package with DVRs for 4 sets. Gone. Whenever I call for service with anything internet I have to fight with script monkeys just to get support. I worked IT for decades. I know what I'm doing. I typically know what the issue is, but cannot fix it from my end. So I call and let them know what's going on. They argue, they dispatch the wrong kind of tech, they claim they're going to dispatch someone and don't, they dispatch someone but the local office doesn't bother to actually show up (they mark the paperwork 'closed' and ignore it), they lie and say the number they tried to call me on was out of service when the tech can call me back on that number easily, proving that my phone does indeed work like it should. One tech got fired from the local office for calling in and impersonating his boss' voice to change his ticket assignments. My level of trust in the local line techs is zero, and my confidence in the support staff I can reach by phone is just as low. I've filed BBB complaints. I've filed FCC complaints. Usually this shakes them up enough to get things fixed. The latest row hasn't finished playing out yet, but it looks like it's going to be another teeth-pulling session just to get anything to work halfway like it's supposed to, and another round of massive credits to my account (and free service for a few months) just to keep me from crawling up to my ankles in someone's butt. read more

To start out, I have to say, this is by FAR the worst cable/television company I have ever had the displeasure of being a part of. Initially the sales lady on the phone gave me incorrect information. She stated that being a new customer, my bill will not be applied until the following month (which is how it should be), however they charged me for time that I didn't even have service. This should of been pro-rated (4 days at end of month), but instead billed me entire month, then threatened to send to collections. Reluctantly I took care of that. When the technician came to install service, he left without saying anything. I didn't even know he had left. Went out back to inspect his work and he had left the cable above ground, running the entire length of my yard (40 yards of cable) exposed. Was too lazy to bury it. I had to call another tech to come bury the cable. The other thing was the lack of up to date equipment. DVR box harddrive may hold about 15 shows (5 movies) and that's it. Also it is only recorded on that box, not a whole house solution. When asked about this, they told me they no longer offer that. Since when does a company go backwards on service? Comes to find out that they charge an extra $20 for having a remote! Guess this is how they offer cheap rates, because they hit you with all of the fees that are initially not mentioned of course. Who charges that much for "remote control" service? No one but these guys.smh. Also, they claim they have "ON DEMAND" service, which of course is conveniently "not available in my area". I've had Dish/DirectTV/UVerse/ , even friggin Comcast which, prior to this company, I thought was the worst. Believe it or not, Charter makes Comcast look golden. The one thing that is working well so far is the internet service, thank goodness, but other than that, the whole experience, bill, service, tv options, are horrible. Don't believe the hype. They are worse than the most awful review on here. Even the installer said that Spring has the most out dated equipment in the Charter family. All the adds you see and fliers in the mail are full of misleading lies. They do not have On demand in our market. The cable on screen interface looks like something out of the 80's. The Internet is fast but drops dead on a weekly basis. The TV signal is at times pixelated and makes even the best TV look terrible. If you want a better picture and cable go with AT&T, but beware it's costly. If your internet is more important Charter is better but not by much. read more

Where do I start.... I have had this service for a few months now. From day one it as been an issue. First off the tech that installed my service laid my tv screen down on my dresser and leaned on top of it and cracked the screen. He installed the wrong receivers that were not programed to the right package. So we could not use the service for a few weeks. Everyday I called and was told because the work order was still open I would have to wait. Eventually someone came out and replaced one receiver. Several times the same receivers have stopped working. A tech came out said well I don't know its an issue in the outside lines. I don't know how to fix this I will send someone else out.......a few days went by did not hear from anyone. I called they sent someone else out messed with the connection at the pole said oh well I don't know. This week it happens again........OMG what a nightmare. First apt set the guy doesn't show up or call. Im told it will be rescheduled for later in the day. Still no one shows up. This guy puts a note in the file saying he came to a blue wood house knocked left a note. I live in a white Manufactured home. But don't argue that with them. they know better than me I guess. Next apt after my husband calls and argues about our house color. still know one shows up or calls. WTF. Well someone came out today to replace the same boxes that have already been replaced. I guess we will see. Why put up with this? No other service in my area except century link and that's even worse. If you have another option don't use Charter its awful. Oh yeah they did eventually replace my tv. but I still get to pay for the time I couldn't use the receiver that the broken tv was supposed to hook up to. read more

The only reason we use this company is because we have no other options for internet service in our area. From day one we have had problems with them. First they sent technicians that did not have uniforms, they were dressed in street clothes (and not very nice ones at that), they did not identify themselves, and were very unprofessional. Once we had service hooked up the internet looses signal 4-5 times a day. We called to get it repaired and they sent a technician out that did not have any tools or supplies and all he did was give us a new modem. He told us to call him directly if that did not fix the problem and he would come out to fix it himself. When we called him the next day he did not answer, we tried several times, before finally calling the main number again. We were told a technician would be out that day between 1 and 5. No one ever showed up or called. We called the customer service line and were first told that the technician knocked on our door and we were not home which was a lie, then the second CSR told us that the technician called us several times and got now response, he was calling the wrong number, which is ridiculous because they have our number on file. So they set up a time for the next day for a technician to come out between 5-8pm. Someone called us at 1 and asked if we were home yet because they could come out early, we were not but I rushed home because they said they would come by at 3pm. 3 rolled around and no one showed up, at 6:00 someone called and said the technician was on his way and he would be here by 7. At 6:50 the technician called giving us a sob story that he just received the call from dispatch and he was already home and had his feet up and begged us to re-schedule for the next day. This is completely disrespectful there was no regard paid to our time, why should we have to work around his schedule? If we were not forced to work with these people in order to have internet service we would take our business elsewhere and they completely take advantage of that fact. read more

This company is the worst cable company for its scheduling and the technicians that they send out. I have been trying to get them to fix the ongoing line issues in my neighborhood for two years. I don't have another choice for service in my neighborhood. The techs never call, and they show up late. They have claimed "it's not their job to call". They always see issues with incoming signals from Charter. The tests are run from my modem, outside my house, outside my neighbors house, and the node in the neighborhood. Every time they show negative signals (-10 on the meter they use). Calling in gets someone in the internet department that can not see the technicians notes, especially in regard to the negative 10 read from the technicians meter. Yeah, the internet department can't see the notes from the internet technicians or internet line technicians. One must go to the cancelation department to get someone who can access the notes. Of coarse, they can't help to get internet issues fixed. They can't schedule, either. The schedulers from the internet department always want you to miss work to meet the first technician that comes out (unless you want to wait around on a Saturday). The first tech does the tests I described, then they order a line technician. Only the first tech can order a line technician. When they have no-showed in the past, I have had to stay home another day. If you have another choice for providers, I strongly suggest going with them. If you only have charter for high speed internet, consider DSL. I should add, I've been trying to get them to come out, and I just got a confirmation email that I am scheduled for 10-11am. I never agreed to that time, and I reminded them that I will never miss work again. They must come after 5PM. Also, I have been waiting for a call-back from them all week. When I called today, they said they see an open ticket for me, and they can not create another one. The ticket mentions calling me to work out a scheduled time and date. Again, no one called, and no messages on my phone (they don't appear to understand that leaving a massage would confirm they called). Also, no emails saying they tried to call. Why,...they did not call. Almost every month they have to come out. They send the same group of guys, and they assure me "they fixed it this time". read more

I have had charter since 2013 and it has been a roller-coaster. At first the price was reasonable, but every year it keeps going up. I started at $60/month to $99/month. They do not offer any loyalty. And you have to keep calling them every year to talk them into giving a discount when the promotional period is over. Also the Internet is never at or near the 30mbps. Well maybe like a week every month it is.. but its never reliable. The cable/internet always seem to go down when you need it the most... so my advice is if its the only service available in the neighborhood.. go for it. just call and nag the hell out of them for the bad internet service and high price once the promotion period is up.
