My original visit was for a screen repair. I closed a pen in my laptop by accident. About a week or so later the SCREEN began to blink and make a noise after the screen replacement. I called and was told to bring it back. When I took it back he advised if the screen is malfunction he will replace it. I never received a call. About two weeks went by. When I called I was told the laptop had liquid damage. I use my laptop for business purposes so it's very important to me to keep it away from liquid. Keep in mind the laptop was never around liquid. He CLAIMS it came from the bottom of the laptop. But also no EVIDENCE to show not even on the side ports. Now he's saying I need a new motherboard: I'm not happy with this. My laptop was fine minus the screen prior to the first visit.Therefore, I'm very unhappy with this service and will never patronize again. read more

I had to replace my laptop keyboard, as I am pretty hard on them and one of the keys broke off, others were getting ready to do the same. I had bought a new keyboard online. After watching two YouTube 'do it yourself' videos on replacing my laptop keyboard, I knew I did not have the patience or acumen to do it myself. Took it up to Peter at SunSky. What an honest and upfront computer guru he is. He did a great job and told me, before he started, what the rates were if he was able to use the keyboard I bought, or if the keyboard I bought turned out to be substandard, how much it would cost for him to order a new one and install. It turns out that Peter found that the keyboard I bought was fine. He charged me for labor only, and he cleaned and blew out my laptop as well. It looked brand new when I went to pick it up a day earlier than expected. I am so happy that I found SunSky as it is close by and an excellent, professional place. Sunsky is a great resource if you like to find great deals on used computer equipment and components. They sell new computers as well, but the best bargains are to be found in their refurbished systems and salvaged components. I bought most of my parts for my first home built system from Ginstar. They run manager's specials on pre-built new systems that will blow the price at big box stores out of the water. However, and this is a big however, you're taking them at their word about what quality components they used to build these systems. But that's just the cynic in me pointing out potential problems. sunsky is definitely not for everyone. If you prefer buying components or used equipment in person rather than on-line, then it's for you. If you have trust issues on used gear or want more of a big business style warranty, I'd shop elsewhere. My experience here was greater than expected. People were very nice. When I took my computer in for repair, he helped me find a solution that would not cost me an arm and a leg. This was over a year ago and my computer runs better than when I brought it in. I am now in the market for another computer and he helped me figure out which one would best fit my needs even if it was not one he was selling in the store.
