Horrible customer service. We terminated service at our old address and had to set up a new account at our new address (not a transfer). We contacted Spectrum by phone and were given instructions to return the equipment to our local Spectrum store. That location stated they no longer accept equipment, we need to drop it at a UPS. None of these communications provide any documentation. They started emailing us about assisting us with service setup at our new location. 15 mos later we discover they have been charging one of our credit cards for service and are refusing to credit us. Spectrum is HORRIBLE! I am the only one in my home using WiFi, I have 300 Mbps and it is still slow. It also drops all the time and there are frequent outages. I pay $89.99/mo for this and it's a complete ripoff. The reviewer who said make sure you cancel before the intro period was 100% right. My rate more than doubled. And if you decide you want to downgrade, forget about it! They tell you they don't offer that plan in your area. Oh, ok. They take advantage of the fact that they are the only choice in some areas. Are they just peachy. My husband tried to cancel service and was told he couldn't unless he took a survey. He gave up. I called a few days later and only issue I had was the refused to probate my final bill. The Rep claimed that they can't. I am livid. Spectrum TV is such a joke. I am disabled no income. I took advantage of an offer from spectrum TV for Internet service. I had no idea that they were charging me $29 every month for over a year. I'm livid. I've just spoken to customer service billing and all they can tell me is that they can't credit my account that $29 x 17 = $ 493 they've been taken out of my account for TV service that "I've never knew I had so I never used it! " when I called in and spoke to a supervisor in billing by the name of John (who refused to provide me with a last name or ID number) Told me that all he can do is stop my services .. I was hoping that he would at least credit my account or refund my money and they said there's nothing they can do but turn the TV service off. They don't care, they could not set up my autopay correctly for YEARS and could not merge my biz accounts ever, even though they promised they would, promised they would give a $ credit for the issues and they have constant interruptions in their internet and phone service. This is by far the worst experience I've ever had with an ISP. I previously had Charter in 2015 and had issues of random connection outages but it happened a few times a week and was getting 1/3 of the speeds I was paying for. I recently switched back but it is by far worse. I game online and have had service only 2 days and have been kicked offline in 2 days at least a dozen times and even watching YT video, it starts freezing and saying I'm offline at least half a dozen times or more. I strongly recommend to avoid Spectrum as their service is by far the most unstable iv ever had in my life. Near all the negative reviews I've read online which are many say the same. If you are unhappy with you ISP, Spectrum IS NOT the answer. I hope this review helps someone not make the mistake I made. Faster is only better if it is constantly on and they are not. read more

I am assisting an 82 year old Senior Citizen reduce her bill to no avail. We have been waiting 4 weeks to get her phone number processed from AT&T to them. It has been gone like this: 1. We can't process because agent didn't put the order in right 2. We can't process the order because agent didn't put in access code 3. We can't put order in because Agent put in wrong account number We are still waiting to get this phone number transferred to Spectrum. AT&T made us drive 30 minutes out the way passing AT&T store in Athens to go to Madison because this Senior Citizen couldn't remember the access code from when she purchased the account from AT&T in 1972. BTW, the AT&T Agent said Spectrum will screw this transaction up royally. The Agent from AT&T said it will be a month before this was taken care of. Now Spectrum saying said it will be the 8th of November, 2021 before the number switches to original number. Right now, I say don't switch to Spectrum. I have been with Bright house / Spectrum for over 15ys. In the past, they have always try to make cable affordable by putting you on another plan if need be. Now my bill went up $50. / $187.71 before my plan had expired, and when I said that I have 6 months more on my plan, they said that I was on a 6 month plan, not so. I live in a 55+ community and on SS, they said Tuff Sh*T. They rather get No Money than have someone paying on a plan, Dumb... So, if anyone out there can get with another company, then do so. Last July 2021, my Spectrum internet kept going out multiple times during the day. I called Spectrum. The guy came out. He told me the problem was with my RG59 cable. He said I needed to have RG6 installed. This surprised me because for the last 7 years internet has been fine. I also needed to hire an electrician to install. Spectrum does not install cable inside the house. Logically, this still didn't make sense to me. Internet had been fine. All houses in my community would have RG59...They had no problem. I then decided to call and speak to another tech support person. I spoke with Leon, in San Diego. I am in Palm Springs. Leon said my cable was corroded...how he would know this w/o looking at it? I believed the problem was probably with the cable/signal coming into the house. I suggested getting a signal amplifier. Leon said it would only amplify into a corroded cable. I was not satisfied. He didn't answer any of my questions. He seemed more concerned with deflecting my problem. SOLUTION: I ordered a TV cable amplifier from Amazon. I also ordered a new splitter. I hooked up power to My internet has been fine! Finally! After 4 months I have excellent, reliable internet! No thanks to Sprectrum tech support!!! read more

The internet is horrible and the tv service is equally bad!! Your tv will constantly be in buffer mode. I was on auto pay and they took two months of payments accidentally and wouldn't refund me the difference. I canceled my service with them after that experience and returned ALL the equipment to the best of my knowledge. I shipped it in a box, then they called me stating I owed them $300 for equipment I don't have nor do I have proof it was all sent nor proof of any kind so I had to pay for it or they'd send me to collections. There are countless Spectrum customers who are not getting their bills in the mail repeatedly and this is NO accident but it is a SCAM. It is a calculated risk that the customer will simply forget to pay because no bill showed up and then the unsuspecting customer gets double billed the next month with an added late fee which is NOT their fault. Big bucks rolling into Spectrum's pockets. When trying to report this to representatives the customer...even if they are a longtime faithful customer... is NOT allowed to talk to anyone in corporate about it but simply given a website with nowhere to type in complaints. BTW, do you think Spectrum reads these reviews and then seeks revenge on customers by screwing with their service who are rightfully seeking to share their complaints with others? The worst customer service I have ever had. Normally I am not one to write a review unless the service is absolutely terrible or extraordinary. Spectrum decided we needed to have a new modem and instead of scheduling a date and time to replace the equipment, they just shut it off in the middle of a work day. When I called they simply told me my modem needed to be replaced and the ONLY two location in my state were both over a 100 miles (round trip) away or I could wait for up to a week to have one sent by mail or pay to have a technician come to repair it. After making the 100 mile round trip the new modem did not work without some technical support. When I asked why we couldn't have schedule the upgrade to the equipment the customer service representative "Huston" said he could offer me a $10 credit. I replied to him with "you have to be kidding me a $10 credit is all you can offer in a situation that could and should have been avoided". He then placed me a brief hold and came back with we can give you credit for the two days you were without internet service. Wait for it... a total of $14 is all they can come up with. I told them, "You're lucky you are the ONLY option we have for service, because this was insulting enough to make me switch". He simply said "I am sorry you feel that way" I guess we there is NO OTHER choice, you really do not need to have very good customer service. An EXTREMLY disappoint Spectrum Customer. I would give zero stars if I could. We have had multiple issues with service, dropped calls, and inability to simply stream music in and around our neighborhood of over 6,000 homes for the last year now. When we have called we were answered with "I'm not showing any outages and your coverage is 5G", which didn't help or solve anything and of course no one ever bothered to call back or check on our service. So we look to switch to T-Mobile due to some great offers that they have. I called on the 7th to pay off our phones completely which was a task because they couldn't find mine or my wife's phone number in their system. They asked if we were a new account...we had been with them for almost 2 years. I then tried to start what I didn't know would be the most asinine process to simply get our phones unlocked. We were told it would take 24-72 hours to unlock them after I went through a series of unlock codes that they would send via email, which if entered incorrectly would lock me in to my account with them...keep in mind all of this lengthy over exaggerated process is extremely coincidental since the new billing cycle begins the next day. So we wait for the email to come...48 hours and nothing. I call back, go through all the numerous minions that it takes to repeat my story in order to speak to a supervisor, and then explain why I am disgruntled. He apologizes and coincidentally again is able to quickly send me the unlock instructions which were just a link to apple.com and their instructions. He unlocked our phones immediately and then explained that we would be charged $120 for the new billing cycle that we were trying to avoid and get closed out 2 days ago. Spectrum Mobile is an absolute joke from top to bottom and now Spectrum Internet (apparently a different branch) has lost our internet business as well because of how they have handled this. The worst part is that they are completely fine with taking $120 of a customer's money for a service that was trying to get closed out. All this has done is validate that we will never again do business of any sort with them, nor will our company that is expanding, and I will personally advise anyone and everyone to avoid them. A word of caution if you are considering Spectrum services. We had their internet service over a period of years. Initially we were a satisfied customer. However, we noted what appeared to be a decrease in the speed of the network, over time the outages became more frequent and we decided to terminated the service. To top off our experience with Spectrum we were 5 days into a new billing cycle and they refused to prorate the monthly charge. If you signup with them I wish you better luck than we had. read more

Waited around for an hour for them to show up to fix my service and they never showed or called. Called the 800 number and got told they cannot call when they are late if they are working on high voltage lines. Since when is cable high voltage? Even if I was to believe this, am I also to believe they do not have a dispatcher who controls and monitor their schedules and jobs? Hidden fees. I had them a year and then noticed my bill increased substantially. The current bill showed I had an increase of $15.00 due to a promotion that ended the anniversary of my start date. As a result, my bill was $64.99 instead of $49.99. When I called I was told that I had been receiving not a $15 credit, but rather a $30 one although this was not shown on any of my bills. All my previous bills just listed a flat-fee of 49.99. In summation, I was informed that they were doing me a favor at letting me have it at $64.99, because otherwise it should be $80.00. The latter of which will be the price in 12-months when the other 'mysterious/hidden' credit of $15.00 drops off in a year. Due to their many outages and customer lack-of-service, my husband and I have never had many good things to say about Charter/Spectrum (ha), but THIS just takes the cake. You think the service is bad? Try CANCELING it! The closing date on our house was April 14, which is the day we moved out. It was Easter weekend, so we called on April 18 to cancel Charter. Well, years ago, their modem stopped working. Considering that their customer support is a nightmare to deal with, rather than try (likely argue, because they always blame the customer!) to get them to replace it, we bought our own modem, and called Charter to activate it. When we told them the old modem no longer worked, they said to discard it. Fast forward to April 20-22. We got an emailed bill for the old, broken modem ... the one we were told years ago to discard. We called them yet again, and were told that they'd give us a $75 credit towards the modem. The representative said to wait until we got a paper bill in the mail with the corrected total. We also found out that they'd mistakenly placed our service on hold rather than cancel it (!!). They supposedly fixed it. Fast forward to today. We got the paper bill. You guessed it. They're still saying we owe for the broken modem. SIGH!!! Another very lengthy phone call later, they told us that the previous representative can't give us a credit for the modem, because "it doesn't work that way". They were also trying to bill us for May through June, even though the service was supposed to have been cancelled on April 18. Hopefully THAT part is straightened out now, but they're still wanting us to pay for the broken modem that THEY told us to throw away. We'd been Charter customers for over a decade.
