The day of Packer Lion big game our internet and TV went down. My wife works from home so having the internet is critical. We saw a spectrum truck on the next block. My wife opened a support ticket. In the process, the First Lady she spoke with spent her time trying to sell her more services causing more aggravation as we we were down. After 20 plus minutes, my wife got transferred again. My wife explained that we lost both our TV and internet at the same time. And she told her there was a Spectrum truck nearby. The lady stated "the truck was around for a different issue" and not related to our issue and was rude and insistent about it. They determined our issue had to do with an issue with the feed into the house. Soonest the could get a tech out was in two days. Tech came out Saturday and I explained what happened. We both went to the amplifier and opened it and determined that the Tech driving around Thursday disconnected our cable and forgot to reconnect the coax. The tech reconnected us, but mentioned he sees this two often. He was a good technician and our service was restored. My biggest issue here is that my wife gave Spectrum technical support all of the pertinent information to help resolve the issue. Not only did they insult her by trying to sell her services when we we down, but she didn't bother to contact the tech in the area that day to have him follow up on a nearby outage. Had she contacted the technician, he could have returned to fix the problem, easily by reconnecting the coax cable. It would have taken him a minute to fix. Instead we were down two days. All resulting from a tech in the area doing sloppy work and an untrained phone agent who didn't bother to do her due diligence to contact the field technician. I mean here we have an outage, followed right after someone was right in the area. How much common sense does it take put two and two together. A very rude and stupid lady. Inexcusable! End result, my wife had to drive 50 minutes each way to her office the next two days to work. We also lost access to be able to watch the big game from home. After all the extra gas money, and frustration, Spectrum offered a $4.60 two day credit. What an insult and joke! I am a long time customer of Spectrum and have been patient after numerous outages, increases in bills, poor customer service. This was the final straw. I am going elsewhere now. I just moved into a new apt on July 1....Open my mailbox and I literally have 9 letters from Spectrum. My building is pre wired for cable. So I only wanted to order JUST TV....I had an appointment and was on hold for 20 mins to cancel it and then transferred to another person, only to be put on hold for 40 mins! Then, someone calls me the next day to tell me they are in the neighborhood and could they stop by for the installation ...after I had cancelled it the day before. Three weeks later I made another attempt to actually visit the Spectrum store to try to get JUST cable again....After speaking to 2 people in the Fleetwood store ...Being told I needed to present a copy of my lease. It has been two days since 8/11/21, the day I found out my service was not "downgraded" -- like I asked-- but instead, it was canceled by "mistake." Huge mistake for a service provider. On 8/11/21, I tried to return the equipment after my boyfriend spent his phone with Charter Spectrum from 3 pm- 8 pm. The result of that very long-winded conversation was my account closed on "good terms." They tricked him into creating his account. I told him everything, plus the install would be around $250. Well, yesterday, the projected bill came to $300 and something (view pictures). He was so angry that they lied AGAIN, he decided to cancel everything. Today I returned my equipment to a store location that had informed my boyfriend they do not do returns (view pictures). The reason I went back to that store location: 95 Storrs Rd, Willimantic, CT 06226. The cashier was "SN7" she moved too quickly for me to catch her name tag. Now on 8/11/21, my boyfriend entered the store location to return my equipment as they were sending him his new equipment. The same lady who lied to him but ended up doing my return anyways was there. She lied about what she told my boyfriend to save face. I did get my equipment returned but only after jumping through many, many hoops. I even went as far as emailing Alexa Mayo (view pictures), who called me on 8/12. When I went to return her call, she didn't answer. Since then, I have left her voicemail, and she has not called me back. Her office hours mentioned were M-F, 8:30-5 pm. It's now 3:13 pm, and still no callback. Suppose you want to trust your hard-earned work money to a provider that gives you the hassle. Lies. went into Spectrum to pay my bill and upgrade my cell phone. A very heavy set short woman with bad dandruff and glasses sat in the corner on her cell phone. I had to ask if I could get some assistance, please. She looked up at me, continued to use her phone for several more seconds, and then asked how can I help you with an ear plug still in one ear. I asked what her name was, and she paused, looked at me for a few seconds, and then said Candice how can I help you? I explained I needed to pay my bill and would like to upgrade my phone. She said, "Why not get a new phone with a new number?" I told her my current phone is still not completely paid for. Candice, when on to say you can transfer the payments to your new phone number. I explained to her I needed the current number because everyone I knew had it. Candice then said you can give them your new number. I again declined the offer. At the point, she seemed to become disinterested in helping me and took my payment. I asked about the iPhone 16, and before I said which model and color, she said we do not have any more in stock. I said I haven't told which model I am interested in or the color. She then asked which model and color you wanted. By this point, I was no longer in giving my business to the location or to Spectrum. When I said never mind, forget it she replied in a sarcastic tone "bye". Once I got home, I called customer service. The representative told me that the payments do not transfer to a new phone number from my current phone number. After this kind of service, I have transferred my number to another carrier and will soon be transferring my internet service as well. I had Fios for many years but the price was getting ridiculous. I was paying $330/mo. so I switched to Spectrum. I pay $80 less than before. The problem now is reliability. Internet service is constantly going down. I'm paying for the highest speed internet and almost daily I lose service for a few hours. My family likes to joke and yell out that the modem is RED... when it should normally be BLUE. At first there were scheduled outages from work being done up the street- but this is getting ridiculous. read more

Spectrum will nickel and dime you to death. You'll get a bill for $200 one month, the next month the bill will be $209. If u call and ask why your bill is $9 more than the month before you'll get the same scam-like answer EVERY SINGLE TIME. "That was just a promotion"....i've literally got that response more times than I can count. Their reps are EXTREMELY annoying and pushy when trying to get you to switch to spectrum mobile. God only knows how many "promotion" excuses they'll use to jack up your now combined cable and cellular bill. I once forgot to pay Spectrum, after 4 years of on time payments Im only 3 or 4 weeks late FOR THE FIST TIME ...I get an email telling me they've sent it to collection. Why not just email me a payment remainder instead of trying to hurt my credit??? This company is the absolute worst, I've got many more horror scenarios dealing with these ppl but i'll just say 1 star is a generous rating . read more

This company also makes up prices when you call. They don't treat existing customers very well. Just give me the lowest price when I ask for pricing, and don't play games. After a very stressful week of calling customer service and tech support, I have finally made my appointment for Verizon to come and install Fios. The earliest appointment Time Warner could give me was more than a week from now. They have now lost me as a customer, and I was a customer since the 1990s. Cox is my service provider in Rhode Island, and their customer service agents are knowledgeable and polite. There are no games played with that company. I get the best deal for the best price. I expect the same treatment for service in New York. Bye-Bye, Time Warner. I am so glad to be done with you! read more

I ended my cable service with Spectrum/Charter on 6 Dec 2019. Yet when I received my December bill, I was charged for the "entire" month. When I called them to ask why my bill wasn't pro-rated, I was informed that Spectrum/Charter is a subscription services and when customers end or reduce services they must pay for the entire "cycle", regardless of the day you cancel. When I told the representative that I was not aware of this change, I was told that the notification was a part of the June 2019 billing statement and it is not the representative's responsibility to notify me of this information when I make a change. Yet, they do not refund $$$ when their service is down. Just another reason to cut the cord! read more

BEWARE..... I urge u 2 NEVER entertain a quote/estimate or consider Spectrum Cable for service. I've been w/FIOS for 9 yrs. I entertained a estimate quote since the girl knocked on my door. WELL NEVER AGAIN. Without my Consent and Authorization, they took my phone number out of no where my phone is now disconnected. Verizon is working on getting my number back. Last night, my cable and internet was disconnected.....This morning Cable and Internet have been restored and now Verizon is looking for my phone # I've had for 9 years. From an estimate, Spectrum took it upon themselves to come knocking on my door for installation. Get the hell out of here. I did not CONSENT or AUTHORIZE a change in SERVICE. I so agree that Time Warner is crap. I just moved to Westchester about two weeks ago. Prior to me moving, I tried to schedule an appointment and today was the earliest appointment I could get. So after waiting for 4 hours for them to show (had a window of 8 to noon today), I called them around 1 PM to ask where the cable guy was. I was told that they weren't coming because I already had a box (keep in mind, I just moved). Well it turns out the person who was in the apartment before me never returned the box. So they are charging ME $250 for the box plus an additional deposit and then the installation fee (which includes the first month's service) after I fax over my proof of employment, the lease (or in my case the title for the apartment), a bill in my name for this apartment as well as 3 forms of id. When I asked to speak to the manager, they told me that I had to do all this because I had a box. When I repeated that I just moved there, the manger replied, "that sucks for you doesn't it?" What kind of crap is that? In all the years that I had cable i have never had this problem before. I already reported them to the better business bureau and I am going to contact the city of Mount Vernon about this crap too. read more

Internet issues have been experiencing issues thought it was the equipment with the slow WiFi and rebooting for months.. So after a horrible experience with the local office on a cable issue. I called in on the internet issue after dealing with an on line chat.. The tech comes out and informs me that SPECTRUM charges me for 200 speed but the only way for me to get that is to plug into my modem/router with an Ethernet cable. And that I should get up to 100 with my WiFi depending on how close I am. I was checking my speed on their speed check and I wasn't even getting 10 on the download and tonight I cannot even get 50 on the download.. And they will not credit my account or assist me in any way because the State of NY is sueing them for this issue already. SO everyone BEWARE SPECTRUM is a RIPOFF... I will be changing to FIOS ASAP... They are not customer friendly and will not do anything to help... read more
