8-11-23 if we could only give a zero. the tech before who cane out a while back he was afraid to check the lines out side so he was worthless and he left like this guy celestino appointment set for 11: to 12 ok they were informed no house entry because of dogs. i had to replace modem and wifi before as they were updating there system. its put in below the computer desk with lots of other stuff i have collected for reference and will have to move a lot of stuff for someone to get to the 2 boxes as they are 5 inches apart.. ok put in new stuff and its running fine. as when you 75 plus you do stuff at your speed. then my neighbor calls them as they are never happy with much. they come out and fix his stuff at the pole junction box and my system now takes a dump and is slow like at&t was. so i get a great tech guy on phone in morning and we go thru all the setups on modem and wifi. it was corrected as i was back to 450 rather than the 120 speed so we are happy and then spectrum does a shutdown and resets all the systems. ok it was now down to 360 speed and it was not a problem but then i see spectrum at my neighbors house and oh shit here we go again. so i called them on 8-9-23 and girl tried to reset the system and she just dumped a visit on me. i had informed her up front tech person is not allowed in house because of dogs. she say thats ok he can check outside lines. wrong the first must get into your house and disrupt your house to get to the modem / wifi. thats not going to happen. since celestino was not willing to check outsize wires first i said if you can't do that they go as your not getting into house. he leaves i believe and i get a phone call from someone and he gives me same bull shit we must get into you house. fyi i was robbed once already in 2023 and nobody gets in my house now. so tel the second caller if you can't check outside wires we have no reason to proceed further and call ends. within 3 minutes i get another call from spectrum upper guy and he gove me a same bullshit line. we have to get into your house. so i said we are finished and have a good weekend and hang up. its interesting that they are to lazy to check the wire system but are real interested in gaining access to you residents. looks like i will be looking for a new gable / internet / wifi bunch. if i am capable of making the change over to there new system and it functions fine but when one of the "tech people" screws with the line to the box its connected to why would you "not look at the source first and believe what the customer states. them to have to do it there way is like calling me a liar. 5 fingers for your bunch spectrum read more

Worst service and customer relations ever. The individual people that answer calls are fine; in general, I do not believe it is their problem but rather a systemic lack of training and focus on any real concern about customers. The result of a monopoly granted locally. No company would survive their bad service and crazy high price without the monopoly power they have. I have many examples of bad service calls over the years. All of which culminated yesterday when I must have spent several hours on the phone with them trying to get them to fix their equipment. They had to make 4 separate service visits to get their equipment working correctly. Then they refused to give me credit for the time that the service didn't work because I didn't tell them soon enough. Yikes! And the all time classic 'too bad for the customer" approach. Three different service people told me during phone calls that they have scheduled their tech to come back and fix their equipment in the sidewalk and that they would call first....and that if i didn't answer they would not come as they would assume no one was home. Get this ..1. the problem is in their equipment located underground in the sidewalk (i.e. they don't need me to be here for them to get to their equipment) and 2. wait for it..........my phone service, which they provide, doesn't work because of the problem in their equipment under the sidewalk !!!!!!!!!!!!!. Why would they expect me to answer my phone which service they provide and which does not work?????????????My mobile service is very unreliable at home due to living in a mountainous area and that's why I have their phone service. So, unless I have another phone to answer their call, they won't come and fix their equipment in the sidewalk so that the phone service that they provide will work - so if you get their phone service you need to have another phone service. How should I put this... Being a customer for Spectrum and Spectrum Mobile is like playing Monopoly with That Rapist Brock Turner after he bought you a drink. They are the banker and have bought all the properties in the first 3 turns, That Rapist Brock Turner is their customer service representative (both in store and on the phone) and will whisper that they're there to help but leave you on your knees before knocking you unconscious. They're the Starbucks on every corner selling diabetes syrup disguised as coffee. They have high speed internet, but its run by a narcoleptic. I currently pay for 400 down but barely get 100 down most nights. My neighborhood has a similar experience. We would love to try other ISPs but Spectrum is the convicted sex offender that prevents other companies from moving in because they have a large family of options to provide potential customers. They're the drunk racist uncle hitting on your cousin at Thanksgiving dinner. They're an organization staffed with energy vampires. I was trying to move my mobile account from a core account under my landlords name, under my core account and preceded to waste 3 months of my life. I'd leave for a competitive service if they didn't kneecap their competition. Charter has 100, 400, and 960 in my area Att? 10 Google? not available T-Mobile? Not available Local broadband? contractually unavailable to residences in my area, despite other residences in other neighborhoods and wards having them as an ISP Spectrum is a cancer, a disease, an infection, and a virus. I recognize how ranty and petty this sounds. Trust me, this is not my normal tone...I spent those 3 months playing ball and being amenable. Approachable and understanding even. I attempted to cancel my service on 8/12/2019 as I was in the process of moving to a new home. Spectrum does not let you cancel online so I had to call. There were long wait times so it was suggested I leave a phone number to call back at. I did and received a call. While trying to confirm my account we got disconnected and I did not receive a call back. I called Spectrum again and waited and when trying to confirm my account they could not and said I would have to get my account number. On 9/6/2019 I was able to call back to cancel my service and expected to be provided a prorated amount as I was not going to receive a full month of service. At this time I was told that as of 6/23/2019 they no longer offered prorated amounts of service stating that this was a monthly subscription plan. This information was not sent to me in a separate message nor was this on my May, June or July billing statements. In essence I have to pay for service for 8/31 through 9/29 even though I cannot use the service and they did not adequately disseminate this information. While subscription plans such as Netflix, Hulu or even Amazon Prime will not refund you if canceled in the middle of the month these services can still be used until the end of that billing cycle. This is not the case with Spectrum when this service is not provided at my new home. I have no issues paying for what has been provided but it is wrong to pay for something I cannot receive. In 2019, Spectrum changed their policy to no longer pro-rate their service. Now in 2020, during a pandemic and these hard times, they are still sticking to this policy. I was charged $74.99 for 1 week of service. I also had an equipment charge of $59. I immediately called regarding this equipment fee. They took 3 weeks to look into it and ultimately removed the charge, however, during the 3 week investigation, they tried to charge my card on file. It was NOT approved, nor was I trying to pay my bill until this fee was resolved, and so the charge was "returned". Spectrum then added on a $25 return fee. This is AFTER one of the service reps assured that I can pay my bill after the investigation and there would be no problems. In total, I had to pay $99.99 for 1 week of service, during a pandemic, where unemployment is at an all time high. When I asked for any financial assistance, I kid you not, the service rep said "I can hold off on sending you to collections". Whoa... just whoa... I have been a customer for years, never paid late on a bill EVER, and supported Spectrum even through all their price increases. This experience has made it clear that none of that matters to them. It's obvious Spectrum just wants your money, whether you're a loyal customer or not. Just a few words of warning about this business. 1). The internet service was underperforming more each day. Within my own small home I only had a moderate internet signal. I had to routinely reboot the modem to improve the signal. Initially I had a strong connection. I have read where most internet providers reduce internet speeds in order to get you to upgrade. That seems to be true with Spectrum. 2). You will not get any credit for cancelling a service prior to end of billing date. You will not be reimbursed anything for cancelling early. 3). When I cancelled services, I returned a modem. The company proceeded to bill me within less than a weeks time for the piece of equiptment as unreturned, even though the modem was returned per UPS the next day after discontinuing services. I had to use UPS due to coronavirus closings. Actually the modem rental was already paid for in the monthly fee and would not have been due to go back for nearly 2 weeks. They basically attempted to make me pay ahead for the equiptment. Pro rating it, for which I could possibly not have been reimbursed, because there is no retroactive reimbursement. 4). Lastly, you have no way of cancelling services on line. Offices have limited hours due to covid. And you must wait a very long time to talk to a rep, just to cancel services. My husband ran into a situation with Charter Spectrum, a cable company here in our area. On Thursday, 8/20/2020, my husband met a Spectrum van going the opposite direction and the Spectrum driver threw a full soda cup, ice and all, out his window hitting the drivers side mirror busting the housing and soda went all down the side of our vehicle. My husband made a u-turn and chased down the Spectrum van, getting pictures of the Van and the license plate number. He confronted the driver and the driver denied throwing anything out his window all the while he was speeding to get away. My husband called the police department and the police wouldnt write a report because this wasnt an automobile accident. The police officer did, however, follow my husband to one of the Spectrum Offices at 83rd and Parallel Parkway in KCKS to report the incident. Information about the incident was given to a member there to forward to their incident department. He has spoken to several people, and has basically been told it is a he said/she said issue and they are standing behind their driver, even though we have sent them pictures. If you see this Spectrum van with Missouri license plate 0N3N44 watch out, this POS is not an honest, upstanding person with no respect for other peoples property. After reading the terms and conditions for Spectrum, you can seek other alternatives other than a class action suit, including arbitration. Spectrum is required to pay all fees associated with this. I guess we will see if they know how to run a cost analysis, since just the filing fee is $500 and they are still billing me $250 a month for disconnected service...Hopefully their math is better than their customer service and unreliable products... 28. Repeat issues with Spectrum Business phone. Technicians are sent out to my office to resolve phone outages almost every month for last 8 months. Sometimes twice in one month. When they leave phones are working and a few weeks to a month later, phones are out again. We were without phones for two days with the last outage. As a law firm, any length of time that passes wherein our lines are down has severe consequences for our clients and community. I have spoken with supervisors and no one seems to think our business is important enough to send a well trained senior level technician to our office to figure out what the problem is. As a business owner, I know that supervisor and officers within this company may not know what is going on in the field unless it is bought to their attention so I will be completing surveys and writing reviews on google and any website that allows a review of services in hopes that policies and procedures change. Losing customers for a reason. I stuck with Time Warner and now Spectrum for many years. They will not offer you any deals as a long term customer, only to new customers so they can trap them in exorbitant fees and bad service. On top of that I cancelled my cable services on Sept. 7. The billing cycle started on Sept. 2. Apparently they have a new policy where they charge you the full amount no matter when you cancel. So if I was 1 day into the cycle, I still would have been charged the full amount. Probably because they have so many people leaving. Spoke with a customer service rep and then a "supervisor" and they stuck to the script. For an 11 year customer who was still going to use their internet service, they couldn't help me out one bit. Giving them 1 star for absolute stupidity during a PANDEMIC, by offering me ZERO no-contact options for returning a router we no longer needed to a 3 high-risk person senior household. Could not mail it in, MUST do in person. The phone rep firmly gave me the only 2 options, go in to the Spectrum store or go in to the UPS store. Nothing for NO CONTACT. C'mon Spectrum, you are in Florida and have LOTS of very high risk household like ours. Heck, the local marijuana dispensaries offer no contact service to protect their customers and workers, Spectrum should REALLY be doing that. Signal drop issues still frequent after 2 years, multiple tech visits, rewiring drop, upgrading to (own) router, and upgrading to fastest speed. It's gotten better internet speed wise, but the Roku App for Spectrum Streaming TV SUCKS and crashes often. read more

I had cable connection problems when I first signed up with Spectrum. They send a tecnician the next day. He had to build the whole cable system, worked 4 hours and made it work and they didn't charge me. Then 2 weeks later suddenly some of the channel were not available anymore. Customer service told me I was given one tier higher as a promo deal. Well, that was not my understanding of the deal. I fired a message to cust. ser. prez. ms katleen.mayo@charter.com. She assigned Mr Tim Downer to my case. He listened to my complaint and promised to resove the issue. He did indeed and gave me what I was promised and wanted and then some and told me to call him if I ever have any issues. I am totally satisfied the way they solved my issue. So I signed on to a promotion at 72.00 a month and had on auto pay. Some how I paid this for 6 months and all of a sudden my service was disconnected and I called to have it straightened out because I had on automatic payments. They told me it was not on auto payment anymore and was disconnected. Weird never had a problem with them taking payment every month! Never got a notice or a bill! Of course my payment was great and account had sufficient funds. They said I needed to pay outstanding balance then would reconnect Internet, paid the outstanding balance then was told because it was disconnected that I would have to pay the new fee without the promotions and cost twice as much!!! They went to 145.00 double what the previous monthly payment was. What a scam !!! read more

Because of my inability to get Spectrum on my outside porch TV, I had to make an appointment for a technician to come to my home. Jorge was that individual and his service was absolutely EXCEPTIONAL, the BEST we have ever had in our 20 history with Time Warner now Spectrum. He listened to our questions and concerns, did what was needed quickly and superbly, and made the entire experience a great pleasure for us. He had a great attitude and paid attention to detail throughout. It was simply a great experience for us and we would hope to use him again should we ever have problems in future. The VERY BEST tech we have ever been served by, a great credit to Spectrum. FIVE stars all the way!!! read more
