My mother passed away so I needed to cancel service. They tried getting me to transfer services to another property, transfer the plan into someone else's name and so on. Spectrum is a joke. While I enjoy watching the Buccaneers, they always elect not to show the Dolphins or Jaguars on other networks if the games are at the same time. Today broke the camels back, they listed the Dolphins-Ravens as a game they were showing but ended showing something else that no one is watching. Bad service , spectrum dud not start the TV service for months and refused to credit back for non received service

I have been waiting for 8 days to get my cell phone number transferred from one carrier to Spectrum. Yesterday I was told because the transfer got screwed up by Spectrum, It could not take over two weeks for their "Tier Three" team to fix the issue. TWO WEEKS. Are they crazy. I now can't even go to another carrier because Spectrum has my cell phone number in limbo. My internet service is spotty so even the landline I am using via Magic Jack is not working correctly. I can only use Spectrum internet because they won't let anyone else use their system in the RV park I live in. I am so disgusted with Spectrum that I am filing a complaint tomorrow with the FCC to get them involved. read more

I called the cancel for the third time. The last 2 times spent a 1/2 an hour on the phone with them to try to get me from $80 to 19. And it was from the purpose the way they do business instead of honoring my choices of cancelation. They continue to be persistent and next to you know. I get another bill so as of now. I got Spectrum really easy no problem. but when I got ready to disconnect I paid my balance and then was told they had to transfer me to another department. I waited for them to answer for 45 mins. I hung up and called another dept. and told them I would just send the equipment back with a note to disconnect. I was told they will keep billing until I actually speak to someone. spectrum uses cgnat, which is the equivalent of shooting yourself in the foot if you run any servers or need to port forward anything. the cgnat turns your router into a glorified access point. no more static/dynamic ip, as i guess then don't have enough of them, your router is basically a access point as the real router they control somewhere, all the setting in the router do nothing. port forwarding has no effect because of this. i cant run my servers or prioritize my console or computer for WIFI speeds. i spent hours on the phone with them and two of my tier 3 tech to see if there's anyway to go around this, they basically said to go kick rocks its not their issue and isn't on their end, (it is though) even provided proof when trying to ping specific servers. You'll have to tunnel or vpn which is drastically slower, and has a cost added. but i now have to pay for a VPS to run servers i used to for free, and port forwarding on the router doesn't actually do anything. not only that but they cap your upload speed to 40, no matter what speed you pay for. you could pay for the business internet which is $150 a month! just for 100mb static IP and they'll still cap the upload. the cgnat as a whole slows everything down as it has to take extra paths just to get to you. the router that controls your router also controls everyone that has their isp as well and is a liability as your information in congregated with everyone else regardless of what they say. to recap if you are under cgnat and have anything to do with IT i would stay away, it make it difficult to do anything even remote in. read more

I have been having issues since 02/04/2023 and was just informed im required to call in every single time their is an outage with your internet even though its your software and you should be able to see when theres an outage. If you can send me an email telling me theres an outage and a text message how is it possible no one in customer care or a supervisor can see it. How is this reducing customer effort and making it customer friendly. When theres an outage you cant even call in because theres so many calls coming in and the ivr states it cant take anymore calls. BE CAREFUL WHEN ADDING SERVICES. They will find ways not to let you cancel. I had subscribed to Spectrum's Cable TV with Xumo. I remember a year ago when I called and the service was so fast that I was able to add the service to my existing internet service within 15 minutes of being on the phone. Now, that I have decided to cancel (for legitimate reasons - we haven't used it for almost 6 months). They just made it difficult for me to cancel the services. My first call took 40 minutes after I was transferred by the initial call center rep then they cut me off which I know that they did deliberately. Then I called the second time and it took another 50 minutes until they were able to cancel the services. Not to mention that they ask you all these questions why I am cancelling and REALLY REALLY convince you to stay. I hope that they would just have the decency of making it easier just to cancel with no hassle. I will be looking to go with another internet service because this is just ridiculous for them to make it difficult for consumers to get out of a service. So before you add any service, really think about it. Otherwise, you may be stuck with it for life. read more

I am a customer and a former employee of 30 years of Soectrum originally Tamp Cable. I have never been treated so wrong. There was a service call placed on June 23 for a cut service line by a third party (Dave's Tree Service). There was a service order place for June 24 from 3 to 4 pm with a call ahead. The tech Aldo from Tampa texted me an hour before the scheduled time appointment, stating he was en route. I attempted to call or reach him back but to no avail. I called customer service to try to understand what happened? He never came to my home. And the end of the day. I had a horrible experience. No compassion and no empathy. No sense of urgency. My household has suffered due to unable to work from home. I will be in contact with the FCC to provide a formal complaint and moving my services elsewhere. Worst service I have ever experienced in my life..we had lost power, came back on while later but no cable. The power to the boxes would not even come on.. After multiple calls and trouble shooting ( wich they did try their best) last option was to have a tech come out.. They scheduled an appointment for 5 days later.. 5 days!!!! I'm sorry but that is unacceptable. I understand they are busy but 5 days. Meanwhile today is day 3 and noticed a spectrum truck in front of neighbors house. I have had Spectrum TV/Internet for years... I give them five stars for their service in that period. Recently, I moved out of state and requested termination of my service one week into the four week billing cycle. Imagine my surprise when I got my bill expecting a weeks worth of charges ($77) and I got billed for the entire billing cycle ($310). When I contacted Spectrum... they told me that since they didn't have any early termination fees... this is the way they recouped their perceived losses (I was told that I should have read the fine print years ago when I signed up). So, I am going to end up paying $233 for three weeks of service not provided. Looks like I am screwed... however, hopefully my sharing this story others will either: one, have people avoid Spectrum all together, or two, terminate their service at the end of a billing cycle instead of the beginning. read more

Spectrum's internet here in Tampa is bad. Connection drops almost daily for minutes at a time. It's frustrating to constantly have your internet go out. Their customer service is horrible! One rep will tell you one thing and another rep will tell you something completely different. I'm glad I jumped ship and got internet via fiber optic with another company. The fools that hooked the entire new residence forgot to label and hook up the apartments! What are these people to do. Tv is everything to them. Not even single star with this company. You will find miscellaneous charges on your account. Even I didnt add TV service and they added it by default charged for it. When I called they said they are going to refund the amount. after two months of service. However they refunded only partial. I was told by an agent, there is no contract/cancel and prorated what I used for, but I got charged for full month even I used few day. I came here to pick up a digital receiver. This place is unorganized and under staff. First off they send the customers to the back door (not sure why) so I had to walk around the building after already walking to the front and being told the entrance is in the back. The parking is very limited. I had to sit and wait until someone left to get a parking space. When I walked in there is a lady that takes your name and tells you to have a seat. There were so many other people waiting. The building is small they had the boxes and equipment in the wating room. They tell you the wait is less than15 mins but I waited over 15 mins. We just moved to Tampa bay. Called and ordered spectrum. They came to install the internet, cable and 2 dvrs exactly which is what we ordered. The installer put in internet and said that's the order he was given and he didn't have any more time or equipment to wait while we were trying to call the company. Finally after waiting and going through multiple customer service representatives we were told a 2nd technician would come out to make the order right. The 2nd technician came out and still the order wasn't correct. Again we were told he could not wait while we contacted the company. We have been getting the run around from one customer service to another from 1 pm this afternoon its now almost 8pm and to this minute they managed to raise the rate to $40 more a month than they originally quoted us and still have not resolved the issue. Terrible customer service. Unable to provide help for a simple install. Was told they would arrive between 4-5. No show no call. Called them told it would be escalated and I would get a call in 15-30 minutes no call. Called again was told escalated again would get call within an hour no call. Called again spoke to a supposed manager totally useless he stated he would escalate. I asked for a number for dispatch they don't have one. What kind of company does not have a backup plan for its managers as he told me he does not have a contact. My father is in a hospice center. I wanted to cancel his account. I am his daughter and have been paying for his service for a long time. Spectrum made the process awkward and horribly painful. I had to make repeated phone calls. Even though I am paying for his account on my credit card, I can verfiy all his information, they would not let me cancel his account. I had to wait for visitation, which during covid times is limited in a medical setting. I called with him in the room and we had to go through multiple people with the same story over and over! The last twit argued with me about keeping the service at the house. He was "If your father isn't going home from hospice. What about other people? Is someone moving into his home? You can keep the service for them." Then the guy tries to get me to change my dad's cell phone plan! He gets snippy, when I ask if he knows what hospice is. He knew but he figured dad might still want to change cell phone providers at this point. Made a payment back on 12/20 to Spectrum but bill was not due until 1/01. I asked Spectrum to cancel that transaction the same date it was made. The transaction was pending with my bank until it was removed. Instead of Spectrum removing that pending transaction - they refunded my payment from over a month prior. I decided to give spectrum internet a try because their prices were too hard to pass up, and with the way things are going now in the beginning of 2023, saving money is a priority. That being said, I have been hit with "you get what you pay for." I've always known this, but I thought, why not give them a shot. Omg !!! I am on the phone with them every other day, trying to fix my connection. They sent 2 techs out to change out my router and modem and to fix any wiring that might need it, including the main source, which might I add the wiring at the main source was never even looked at!!! Well while I've had to change out my routers and modems literally changing everything over to new passwords 3 times in total and even to the extent of rebooting my phone (a whole host of other problems with that) still I find myself 2 months later still having to unplug one device waiting 1 minute then unplug the other device and replace the plug in the 1st device and waiting 5 more minutes before plugging back in the 2nd device and then waiting with fingers and toes crossed praying that the internet comes back. It's easily 30-45 minutes before anything happens. I'm sorry but that is just unexceptable, I depend on my cameras and security system to feel safe, we have had a lot of unfavorable activities happen on my property and I need that little bit of security that SPECTRUM INTERNET DOESN'T PROVIDE !!! now I am stuck for a while until I can cancel without any penalty fees. Before you or anyone you know makes the change over to spectrum beware of what you are getting into, this is my warning to you, you will have nothing but problems connecting devices that you already own if your connection is even any good to start with. My bill jumped $55 this month from $187 to $242. Said my "special offer" expired and that i was notified on my previous bill. I was...on page 3 of my 8 page bill mixed in with other crap. I called and cancelled and switched to WOW and YOutube TV saving me about $100 a month. I'm on a fixed income so this was important. They failed to tell me that although I cancelkef on Aug. 28th THEY WOULD CONTINUE TO BILL ME THRU SEPT. 16th. Spectrum is easily the worst service i've ever used. Firstly their wifi service was terrible, ours cut out every few days sometimes multiple times a day, we would have to call them every time for them to reboot it, only for it to go out again either the same day or days later. Secondly, their customer service was terrible. Eery time we called they never seemed to understand our issue and told us it was working when we knew it wasn't. Then when we tried to cancel our membership, not only were we met with lots of attitude, but we were told we were going to have to pay for a whole month of wifi we weren't gonna use. Finally someone took off $50 of our bill for us, after being transferred through about 6 different people, all of whom were quite rude and didn't seem to want to help. I live with my roommate, were both in our early 20s, in our first apartment and we don't exactly have the time to be calling every other day for our wifi to be rebooted or have $100s to spend just trying to cancel our membership. On 4/20/2020, I was laid off from my company due to COVID-19. Because we knew that bills would be very tight, we elected to try to cut costs. After spending hours on the phone with Spectrum Cable and finally being able to reach them to disconnect on 4/25, we disconnected. Now Spectrum is charging us a full month because they will not "prorate" our account. We had the service for 2-1/2 days in this billing period. They want to charge us $224.18 for the three days, rather than prorating our bill. I am unemployed now, my husband makes very little as a part time college teacher. Since I could not get through the phone, I went on chat. It took almost 2 hours to even get an answer with them. I cannot believe a company will do this to people in this financial and medical crisis that we are in right now. read more

I filed a complaint with the FCC and two days later I got a call from a manager and I got my money back.
