If i could give them negative stars, I would. They billed me for a month of service after it was canceled the month prior to the next due date. They sent my bill to collections. I pay my bills, I had a credit score of over 800 until dealing with them. Their service is HORRIBLE at best. I went on line to read about how they have done this exact same thing to other people I called and was told, they would shut my service down as requested, but I was paid through another couple of weeks. Spectrum was a disappointment from the very beginning. I had been a DIRECTV user for 25 years, but prices went up so I decided to try Spectrum. What a mistake! I bundled internet and a cable plan. The internet was out frequently, and all the pay channels disappeared as my bill rose to $249.00 a month, from the original $139.00. Horrible customer service, mixed with poor maintenance, and probably unlawful, bill raising without consent(I'm sure in small print, they cover themselves somewhere). Now as I return my equipment I wait for over an hour, for the second time. Also, there were charges assessed past the time of my parting ties with Spectrum. What a disappointment. Spectrum has the lousiest internet service . It always buffers and completely loses connection and always have to disconnect and reconnect for service .What a pain in the you know what. Yes, with Spectrum you will pay for NO SERVICE! In case you want to cancel your service with Spectrum - and there are plenty of reasons available to do so - you will be even more "enchanted" to learn that in accordance with the Spectrum Terms and Conditions of Service, Spectrum services are billed on a monthly basis. Spectrum does not provide credits for monthly subscription services that are cancelled prior to the end of the current billing month. So, in case you want to bail on Spectrum 3 days into your current billing cycle, you still will have to pay for 27 days for NO SERVICE. Having to pay for NO SERVICE is fraud and stealing. On May 11th 2024 at approximately 1:30 a.m. I received an email from Spectrum. This email was a monthly billing statement statement stating that I owe $86.99 to set to be drawn out of my account on May 22nd 2024 that I did not approve. I never gave Spectrum permission to automatically withdraw any funds from my CC account after April 22, 2023 and does not have the legal right to do so. On April 17th 2024 a phone call was placed to Spectrum notifying them that it is my intent to cancel this account with them. It was explained to me by the representative that all I would need to do is return the Box to UPS Store and which I did and received a receipt proving that UPS received the Spectrum box. I was told over the phone by the representative that I could not receive an email acknowledging the cancellation however it should be in their system and stated that the reciept from the UPS store was good enough. If that is the case then why am I receiving a billing statement a month later stating that $86.99 will be deducted out of my credit card account? Also the representative made several attempts to persuade me to just temporarily suspend the account so when I'm ready to come back I can do so however it was explained to that particular representative that I was told by another representative that l had exhausted the length of the seasonal plan which obviously was not true. With all this being said and at the end of the day I feel as though Spectrum actions concerning questionable by sending me a billing statement and which I have done all of the requirements they demand in order to cancel the account but yet they're sending me notification about an alleged bill I owe. read more

I had a terrible experience with Spectrum. They charged me multiple times for services I didn't authorize and failed to resolve the issue after numerous complaints. Their customer service was unhelpful and dismissive. I would strongly advise against using Spectrum for your internet or TV services due to their unethical billing practices. Today on the Florida EST time zone, I contacted Spectrum to cancel one of my mobile phones. I was cautious because mobile promotions can sometimes have hidden drawbacks. Therefore, I requested an email confirmation for the cancellation of my mobile phone with the number 941-334-7010. However, as of 5:12, I have not received the confirmation from them. Another significant problem is that they won't let me see my past billing. They have been charging me $30 every month for installation. I prefer to receive a full refund instead of having it as credit because I would rather go without internet than have them as my internet provider. There should be a zero star option, After Hurricane Milton, Internet and Cable has been down a full week. I get it, but a whole week to restore service is just incompetence I have been courteous and polite (so far) speaking to customer service. Yesterday spoke with an Agent in California named Daniel, No help at all, today spoke with Agent named Ryan also in California, he seemed to take my questioning personal and was getting angry. I just want a "real" update as to when I can expect restoration, according to Daniel, their techs "Don't report progress back to spectrum" That's asinine I know they have a project manager or supervisor, that's the one I wan't the update from. Even if it is "Hey it's a mess water and fire damage, I don't expect internet for four or five more days" Great. it's a time frame, I can get Starlink or a Cellular mobile hotspot. Just tell me the truth. "We are working as fast as we can" is a childish answer, demand better from your Project Managers and Techs. I just ordered Starlink, as my back up, so this never happens again, if it proves to perform well, I'll be cutting Spectrum loose. And will augment Starlink with a Solis Cellular Back up. Spectrum as a company has become increasingly incompetent and money hungry within the last year and I am really deciding on switching to a different fucking provider. From not having internet access, thought both my router and modem report being online, to billing issues with the plan I signed up for, while they incessantly calling me about a plan I did NOT sign up for, I've had it with this fucking company. I'm tired of waking up, getting ready to do work for my job and for grad school, only to find that my goddamn internet doesn't work and NO ONE can explain why. Getting into chats with agents that only try to fix the problem temporarily, with a new agent every time I chat with spectrum support, is incredibly unhelpful and gives off the tone that spectrum only wants their internet services to work when you call them on their bullshit. On top of that, why is it taking an arm and a leg of fucking effort to simply get a fast internet service from you all?! I don't need a fucking phone plan and I don't give a flying fuck about your tv streaming or whatever the fuck else you have. I only need internet and that's never fucking changing. So why am I having connectivity issues when I share with agents that I'm not interested in a phone or tv plan on top of internet??? Y'all can go to hell after this year is over. We have had spectrum for over 20 years. The service has always been spotty. Last September after hurricanes it has been horrible. Service goes out every day. We have had multiple service appointments and get the same response and results. We are at the end of a service line and they don't seem interested in doing what needs to be done. With 29+ year old lines, multiple breaks, and constant price increases Spectrum refuses to give the service they claim and we pay for. This is just one service request being pushed off to another with no results. At this point they owe us money. read more

I'll start with the positive - I have had the most expensive plan and my service at my home has been generally good. The price has gone up and up and up. They are the only service provider in the area, so they can get away with extremely high prices. Fortunately, they agreed to knock the price down $30 a month to $59.99. I have been using Spectrum Wifi for the past 4 1/2 years or more. I have not had any trouble paying my bill. Recently, my bank card number changed and I notified the companies that did automatic deduction, but I forgot to call Spectrum. I apparently became 2 and going on 3 months overdue. I learned this on 5/25. I figured out the problem but could not figure out how to change my payment information online. I called Spectrum within 24 hours of learning I was overdue. When I came home from work on 5/26, the first thing I did was went online and changed my payment information and made a payment for the whole balance due. After I submitted it, the message I got was that it would be automatically deducted on 5/29 (the next business day). I considered deleting the transaction and trying to get it to deduct immediately, but I decided not to. Today is 5/28 (Sunday). Since Friday evening, I have been getting excessive numbers of texts, phone calls, and phone messages from Spectrum telling me I am overdue. I just got another one a minute ago. It's constant. I called Spectrum to complain and tell them I had submitted a payment for the full amount and would they please stop the calls and texts. The lady kept telling me, "You have to pay your bill". I asked her to look at my account, where she would see a pending transaction. She just continued to say something along the lines of I was getting harrassed because I didn't pay my bill and when I pay my bill it will stop. So after all of this time of being a good customer, and after fixing the problem immediately after having made a mistake and become aware of it. I was treated like a criminal. Isn't that kind of harrassment illegal? Again, they have a monopoly in the area, so I can't switch to another company. No wonder they get away with such bad practices. read more

today spectrum lost my trust. Their new policy is bad. And they would not help me. Let me explain. I've been a spectrum user for years, when I travel they put me on a $10 pass. This provide unlimited everything for $10 days. I've been using this automatic service for several years. Now. Recently this appears to have changed. Although this was a surprise to me. Their policy now is a one day unlimited pass. You have to MANUALLY request it EVERY SINGLE DAY. Yes. So for example, if you go on a trip for 10-21 days, you would have to everyday ask for 10,11,12 passes etc. One per day. You cannot just request them in bulk. They are preying on the fact that you won't work to click that daily. So that ultimately, you wake up with charges you didn't expect ranging from $25-$45 per day for normal usage (social, google, regular use). This policy is clear to have been created to generate more "evil" fees. They send one text regarding the roaming fees. And hope and pray you didn't see it, but then bank on that like it's some contract you signed and like it's in print to protect them. Ultimately, bad policy. On 5/11/2024 my Spectrum service was down for hours. It finally cones back up, buy no connection to my ROKU I hate calling Spectrum, so tried the usual reboot, etc. Nothing. Called, go automated service, they rebooted, Nothing Called back, got a tech who had me go through the same reboot process and reset ROKU about 6 times. Nothing He gives up, transfers me to a higher tech. He goes through the same thing again Nothing Now he tells me it's my problem and I need to call ROKU??? At this point I have been doing this for HOURS. I told him everything was working fine before their outage, why os it now my problem? I then told him thanks for Nothing and hung up. Went to some 800 number that tried to sell me 10 different products and then gave me a new number to call for Spectrum. That number also went to the same service. Finally Googled Spectrum and got a local number - and the only answer is to make the change on-line. I have no clue what my login is so that too is a non-starter. Long story, spent over 20 minutes and still not able to make the change. We are tired of Frontier "1 gb" fibernet which is only 1 gb to the garage, so I order Spectrum Streaming. The self installation package came the next day. Unfortunately, there was an outage. We have a new 65" LG. Could not find it in the app store. Used the browser and the Frontier network to fond it on Google Play/ However, there IS NO APP for LG. It was suggested we buy Roku. Guys before last left cover hanging off the house with the cover off. Up on the phone pole they left a jumble of wires hanging there(have pictures to prove it). I was a customer for 30 years and moved away. I called to cancel my service and they refused until I provided the security code. By the time I unboxed my records from moving and found the statement it was too late and they whacked me for another month's worth of service despite that I wasn't using it anymore and despite the fact that I actually did call them in time to cancel before the next billing cycle occurred (had the accepted my identity with out the darn security code.) This is a big corporation that just sticks it to the little guy any way they can. I hope they go out of business as they are unscrupulous and unfair in their business practices. I had disconnected my Spectrum Cable because my Bill was over $350.00 a month. The employees working in Spectrum are not professional and especially Renee in Billing. I was told from Customer Service Reps that when I stopped my service on November 15th, I was paid through December 15th. Now I am being told I owe them $158.48 in past due charges for the month of November. I had returned their receivers, remotes, cable to the UPS store as I was told. At first Spectrum was good with their services, but once your bill is way too high and you find another provider, BEWARE of charges that you are responsible for. I was told the Customer Service People are not trained in letting a Customer know you'll be charged as Spectrum is pro-rated. Buyer Beware. This is not a good Company to deal with. Other than the indescribably obnoxious character Spectrum has in its noxious TV ad, my dismal rating is based on pricing. Our internet/cable bill got up to $295/month for 2 TV's power boxes & 2 DVR's. I found such an amount (3 times our total electric bill) to be most excessive. We went to our local store & were able to adjust the $295 down to $175. However, there's a catch, Spectrum doesn't prorate, so we still got charged our old $295 for the entire month because we made the change THREE(3) DAYS INTO THE NEW BILLING CYCLE. The customer service person said their "no prorate" policy is posted on their bills, etc., & I suggested that her company needed to be REGULATED. One needs to fire(switch) their cable/internet at the end of the initial "bait 'em" period, just to keep them honest. read more
