I have had a fairly good experience with my Spectrum internet over the last year +. That is, until this week. Our new neighbors that moved in behind us got connected to Spectrum on Tuesday. By the end of that process, my internet service went down. So apparently the technicians successfully hooked up our neighbors, yet simultaneously wrecked our service. I called Spectrum about this and you'd think any good company would provide a quick turnaround for loss of service that was 100% THEIR FAULT, right? Nope. I needed to change some account information and swap out some equipment. I read online that you can swap out older equipment at their physical locations. My Internet has been acting up at home for awhile. It might be a spyware/adware issue, but I figured changing out the equipment might be a place to start. I visited their location in town 2x in two days. The check in kiosk at the door is easy to use and fairly obvious (not to everyone though, I didn't realize it on my first visit and on my second visit I cut in front of someone via checking in, someone who had been there before but hadn't checked-in via the kiosk. Am I the a**hole?, yes, yes I am. Staff were helpful and efficient. Getting everything plugged in and connected once I got home. I just reversed what I had unplugged when I swapped out the old stuff. I still had to call for help, but I didn't have to spend $65 to have a technician come to the house, so that's a win. Pardon my essay. read more

I recently went to spectrum with an established plan, simply requesting to add an iPad to our service. Waiting in line without a scheduled appointment was not a concern, I knew the number of customers in the spectrum store did not adequately reflect my wait. I was prepared for a wait. They were busy but I was able to accomplish what I needed to. The only issue was the condescending behavior of two of the associates. No need for names. I was critiqued on my comments numerous times. Kind of odd. Once for stating that the customer they called aloud had already " went". Now, obviously my choice In phrasing that was poor, I felt it extremely rude to correct in front of several people. Unfortunately when I met with a woman about my age, 30-35 I must've used a quiet voice because she mockingly whispered to me making a remarkable different face multiple times. The condescending remarks and demenor continued. Honestly, yeah I could get a life and not go into detail about peoples poor attitude or how I am soooo important I deserve respect etc however I found it quite disheartening individuals in customer service could be so thoughtfully cunning with her rude remarks She referred to me as one of " those girls". Wearing glasses but being tech illiterate, along with a comment of me behaving like I didn't know my 5 year old daughter. Boooooo. read more

I ordered internet and landline service in October 2022....... after many, many phone calls to customer service and no one ever showing up when they were scheduled..... it is now February 2023 and still no service! Charter has its ups and downs. My family uses charter for phone and internet. The phone is good. I have not had any problems with the phone going down or breaking however the internet is another story. It crashes constantly and I don't mean once or twice a month I mean every stinking day. It is the crappiest internet ever. Whenever it crashes I have to go down stairs and unplug two cords from the router. Wait five minutes. Then plug one in first, wait for it to say it is ready and then plug the other one in. It works good for about a day and then crashes again. Like all families mine is hooked to their phones and computers. Even I bring my work computer home when I have some extra things to get done. When it goes down no one is happy. My children get frustrated because their phones won't let them do some things without wifi. My wife and I can't check emails or do work from home. It is terrible. The worst internet I've ever had. But hey you can get a decent phone! read more

Worst customer service, internet speed, and prices in all the land. I've been paying for 60mbs since I moved into my current house in 2010. Now, 8 years later i still only receive around 5mbs. I've called and called yet the speeds remains. I'm only receiving 5%-10% of what I'm paying for. Spectrums solution to this is to offer me 100mbs for an extra $20 a month. They basically are hanging me or a window my by ankles and asking me to pay them more or they'll drop me. Spectrum is the Donald Trump of the internet sector. read more

The TV service is pretty good, but unfortunately the WIFI is constantly going out at my place. I moved from my previous apartment to a new place across town and the service got no better so it wasn't a location issue. The service is overpriced too. read more

For four months jan-May our cable went out for at least five minutes every single night. Took Charter months to admit it was their fault. Finally the problem got solved...unfortunately it lasted only a few months. Now, the problem has returned. Every night around 9:30 p.m. (was 10:30 before the clocks were turned back) every single cable station goes out. EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. only stations that remain are ABC, CBS and NBC. I called Charter and again they have absolutely no idea that this is going on. I don't understand how they charge us 155 bucks a month and it is impossible to watch a TV program at 9 p.m. at night without it being interrupted. 7-3 9:30 at night my Internet goes out. call spectrum they tell me there's issues in the area but it hasn't become a full-blown outage yet. until they get enough calls nobody will be coming out to fix it. An hour goes by. I call again and I'm told no outages reported in my area so it something wrong with my stuff. So this person doesn't do any of the testing that they can do and says I will have to have a tech come out. The soonest we can get one out there Is 7-10 in the evening. SEVEN freaking days! I detest this company. I have lived at this address for 17+ years. My bill goes up every single year, one year increasing by $11 a month! As a consequence, I have steadily reduced my package until I'm now down to 3 major networks, Fox, PBS and two useless shopping channels, plus internet service. For this I now pay over $100 a month! I have had problems with my screen pixilating, what Charter calls "tiling" for many years. The first time I called about it, they sent out a repairman who replaced some connections in the box outside. That helped for a little while. The next time I called, the repairman replaced the cables inside the house. That too seemed to help for a limited amount of time. I called again and was told if the repairman came out and didn't find anything I would be charged $60. I came unglued--if he can't figure out what's causing this it's MY problem?? Are you kidding me? This new repairman said unless the tv acted up while he was here, he couldn't fix it . . . of course my reception was perfect. He then proceeded to spend an hour of my time talking about how his wife got pregnant at age 50, blah, blah, blah while playing around on my computer and then kept me standing at my front door talking politics for another 20 minutes. I didn't think I'd ever be able to get him out of here. I've since replaced my television and now I'm back to having the same issues again--and as you can guess I'm reluctant to call for service. I'm going to start exploring the possibility of a digital antenna. I am so tired of dealing with Charter and paying for their lousy service. read more

This has been the most confusing buisness to deal with, they give you a intro deal of 39.99 to get you in the door then a year later they say thanks for being a good customer we are going to raise your bill to 59.99 a 50% increase. Asked if there would ever be a deal in the future and was told if anything they will INCREASE said bill in future each year I am with them 1-2 dollars. I will not be paying this much ever for internet, and hope in the future there is a competitive rate for there service. read more
