Absolutely the worst service I have ever received, the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing...can't make a simple note on my account for all to see. I cancelled my $93 a month TV service that I have paid for 8 years, TV got fried in a storm so I bought a new 55" streaming tv I Love it...so goodbye Spectrum TV. They are still billing me for TV service, plus they added new 1 Gig highspeed internet they are charging me $20 more a month...I have talked to 3 people at Spectrum about this and still no resolution, even Management made a promise they didn't keep. I live in a apartment complex and we get Internet streaming package. 1 gig internet. A lot of people don't know because they don't game and the gaming console you can check your internet speed very accurately since November 2024 I have not received over 400 mbps. It's now August and still 318mbps. They said in the beginning 7 time I had them out they were going to fix it lol and have a crew come out lol and everything ect. Absolutely Frustrating and Disingenuous Experience The price was already too high, and when I called months ago to see if anything could be done, I was told flatly that there were no options available. Fast forward to now -- I call to cancel my service, and suddenly there are all kinds of mysterious "deals" and "options" that magically appear. Funny how that works. To make matters worse, I was subjected to a 15-minute sales pitch while simply trying to cancel. It felt more like a hostage negotiation than customer service. If these offers were really available, why weren't they mentioned before I decided to leave? I might have considered giving Spectrum another shot someday, but after this manipulative, frustrating experience -- not a chance. We haven't had a stable connection that lasts 24 hours, ever. When we call to ask what's wrong, they says there isn't an outage in our area, but there may be some temporary issues here and there. I have the misfortune to have to use it at work, as well as being suckered in to having it in my house. Both which have to be restarted multiple times a day. I have wifi calling on my phone and have to turn the wifi off in order to call my husband because the call won't go through due to the connection being so unstable. Hopefully Ripple coming to the area will rid us of this nightmare. read more

After spending two days on the phone with Spectrum regarding support for road runner email account I was told they have no record of my account. It's on a list to be purged. It's an active account that I've been getting email on for years. They can't explain why it's inactive nor can they add it back into the system. I currently have spectrum internet. Suggested I get another email account such as gmail to use because my old one with them will be deleted. I suggested I delete their internet service. Service Rep could have cared less. read more

Do business anywhere else. I set my elderly mother up for services. Spectrum Representative promised certain discounts. After some time and reviewing my mothers bills, it was apparent Spectrum had been charging her the full amount. After discussion with Spectrum to try to fix the situation, they issued a two month credit and told me that was all they could do. I ask the Supervisor why Spectrum was not honoring what their representative promised, which she responded, "they as a business cannot honor everything their representatives say, their representative can say and promise anything, and this would not be a good business practice". This is not the first time I have had issues dealing with Spectrum. I have learned to keep notes, dates and names, but Spectrum did not care how much information I had. Supervisor indicated if they do not have it documented on their end, then it does not exist. If you are trap or choose to do business with Spectrum, keep good notes and closely what your bills. I will be looking for alternate services for my mother. She has tv, phone, internet and mobile with Spectrum. There are alternative for her and I will be exploring those options. read more

Without a doubt the worst experience I've ever had with literally any service I've ever received. Where do I start? The advertised bundle price I was sold was $89.99 a month for tv and internet. What they don't tell you is there is a whopping $22 a month in "fees" and taxes on top of that. You read that correctly. An extra $22 a month. It gets worse. They then dropped 23 Viacom channels and refused to lower my bill for the services I was losing, then actually had the nerve to try to get me to upgrade my service to regain those channels. Then there was the process of trying to get service from them in the first place. The customer "care" center has a literal line out the door of people bringing back defective equipment, complaining about pricing issues, or cancel their service outright. And to serve this line, they have 2 representatives that work at a snail's pace, and are about as helpful as the closed car dealership across the street. It took 45 minutes just to talk to somebody who still couldn't help me. I've met shady auto mechanics more trustworthy than this company. read more

I terminated my internet service with Spectrum after signing up with one of their competitors (Windstream). I ended my service -- and turned in all of their equipment -- on April 15, 2021. I had never missed a payment -- or even made a late payment -- during my 12 months with their service. However, they continued to bill me, beginning with a bill for service from 5/19/21 - 6/18/21 -- which is long after my account closed. I explained the error to customer service and was subsequently told that my account balance was lowered to $0.00. THEN I got a letter stating that I owed $74.57!! For some reason, Spectrum still regularly sends me correspondence about "Special Offers" that I "qualify for". I'm not coming back and neither should anyone else. I advise anyone considering Spectrum to stay far away and to go with the competition. Even if the competition is more expensive! They are rude here, unknowledgeable and inefficient. Also, they are disrespectful and sass you when you ask a question. I've never seen a place where shrugging and saying rudely "I don't know" is an acceptable way to treat a customer. Be sure to allow lots of when visiting to switch out your cable box because they will take their time, question you about basic information and never believe your word. -Spectrum just made four of my TVs unusable -the by appointment on their site suggests you should be able to make one over the phone or through chat but there's no contact info other than the main call center - how can we know what the line ups are like to get the now necessary equipment? Sounds like we need a reimbursement for the days we have to wait for the mail out option - one month notice that your TVs will be unusable unless you buy more services is insufficient time to make decisions about whether an additional 6.99/tv/month is worth it. Horrific experience. We had TWC at my home for years and then when I moved and set up a new service in my name, I got talked into TV and internet (even though I really only needed internet). When I got to my apartment the modem and router were here but no cable box, so I called. The representative told me that they signed me up for streaming, which I assure you - NOBODY said anything to me about on the phone. Well apparently I don't have the right devices to make streaming work so I asked them to cancel that part of the service. Anybody want to guess what happened - that's right - the promotional price for internet disappeared and now my bill was going to be $80. I hung up with them got on the phone with WINDSTREAM and I now have faster internet for half the cost. In less than a week I called Spectrum back and now they want to know why I am cancelling - um, let me see, because I am not a fool and I don't fall for bait and switch tactics. read more

Cancelled service on the 29th of the month, was told it was ok to leave the equipment as the new homeowner had signed up with Spectrum and could use it. I was told there was a zero balance on the account. Imagine my surprise when, a week later, I received a bill for $143. They billed me for a full month of service and unreturned equipment ($59 for a 4 year old modem). Called them and was informed they don't prorate service, so I'm paying for 30 days when I was only there for 5. I have already moved and am 300 miles away, and have an hour to try to obtain the equipment, or pay the fee. I will never use Spectrum again. I'm going to have to ask my realtor to remove the modem, Spectrum can deal with the new owner when she discovers the equipment is not there after she was told it would be. To be told there is a zero balance and then been charged-the good old bait and switch! I'd give a zero star, but that is not possible. read more

And low and behold, I still received a bill from the visit and now they claim there are no notes and the bill cannot be removed or waived. I am in Orangeburg and the CS, what I was promised, and tech. support are if they are from a small indepedant provider. I spoke with a level 3 tech to address my issue with email and he hung up on me. I didn't get services until the 25th but got my bill that day. The bill was for $124 but when speaking with a supervisor it went up to $289. They charged me for cable runs and sending a tech out to do them. I got it knocked down to $178 but I'm going to look into Verizon. UNACCEPTABLE read more

Their AI assistant is terrible to report a service problem. I tried to tell it that one of my cable boxes died - not from power cords or anything else, but I was talking to a dumb machine that evidently had no understanding of anything outside of the process it wanted to take you through. It thought I was having a communication problem and took me to a number entry system only. They will try to take you through a never-ending repair sequence. I finally just kept on entering 0 about 10 times and it finally sent me to a real live service representative. If this is any indication of the future of AI, I fear for the survival of humans. I have been on the internet since Windows 95, and this is by far the worst ISP I have ever had! The internet connection is always slow, no matter the time. Not only is it slow, it randomly goes out for no reason. I have had numerous representatives come in and check the connection, and they have not done anything to fix it. They would always say "we will have our engineers get on that", which translates to "We will not do anything". I cannot wait until my family is able to ditch them for a better one. They do not even deserve 1/5 stars. read more

Worst company, worst service, worst customer service. I recently called to cancel my service after approximately 10 years. Everything started out fine, but in the past year service has been down repeatedly. I was paying for fast internet service, 20 mbps. Some days it was 1.5 to 4 mbps download. Two hours later it would be 24 mbps for a little while and then deteriorate. Our Roku box would be unusable during those times, must less trying to download any file of any size. I canceled my service on December 18. Immediately our premium channels and internet service was turned off. For the next three months, we will still have basic cable through our homeowners association. I asked the service representative if I could keep the cable box for a while so we could continue to see our basic channels. She said sure, we would just be prorated for the time we used it (around $6 per month). Today I dropped off the cable box and was charged the full amount for internet and premium channels for everyday we didn't return the box, even though our services were off. The representatives only response was "I don't know why you were told what you were told." read more
