I'm so disgusted with the service and pricing. The service for internet is excellent for a maximum of two months a year. Not two months straight but total. We pay so much for internet(just went up $40 a month) and cable and they always have an excuse why it's not working properly. Send out a guy for wifi and he changes the equipment and it got worse not better. Have a DVR that you can't even manage your recordings on. Spectrum has good prices, and I won't deny that. But I'm extremely disappointed with my experience so far. Before switching from my previous carrier, I called Spectrum with several questions because I wanted to be sure I was making the right decision. I don't know if the answers I received were just meant to convince me to switch, but they were not accurate. Maybe the agent was poorly trained, but the information she gave me was not correct. I had three lines with Verizon, all on 36‑month contracts. I originally purchased two Samsung S23 phones and one iPhone 14 through Verizon. Last year, I upgraded my own phone from the S23 to the S25, buying it directly from Samsung's website and financing it through Affirm. I explained all of this to the Spectrum agent and asked if this phone would also qualify for the buyout program. She told me yes--that all phones on the lines I transferred to Spectrum would be paid off, even if they were purchased outside Verizon. I understood that the buyout program was meant to attract new customers, so it made sense. I even told her that I still owed $240 on the S23, which still appears on my Verizon bill, and that I still have that phone with me. But for me, it would be more beneficial if the S25 were paid off, since that is the phone with the higher remaining balance. I made it very clear that I didn't want any surprises after switching. She reassured me that this situation was common and that there would be no problem. After switching to Spectrum, I submitted all the documents to the buyout financial group exactly as the agent instructed. To my surprise, they only approved the remaining balance for the phones originally purchased through Verizon--not the S25 I bought through Samsung. I called, explained everything, and asked them to review the recorded call, since every call begins with a message saying the conversation is recorded. I wasn't making anything up. They opened a ticket, escalated it to a manager, and after days of back‑and‑forth, the manager told me the best he could do was offer a $20 compensation for the mistake. I explained again that if I had been given the correct information, I could have chosen to activate the line with the S23 I still owe $240 on, using the buyout program properly. Now I have to pay that out of pocket. I repeated that I was misinformed by the Spectrum agent with a false promise. Even so, the manager insisted that $20 was the best he could offer. So one star is more than I should give them! I can't imagine this is happening to only me!! I don't have a choice in my neighborhood except to use Spectrum for my cable and internet or I would switch in a second! My cable package is pretty standard, no big upgrades, and my internet is OK at best. The problem is what they charge for their service! In the past 12 months my bill has changed 6 times!! I returned some boxes to bring the cost down and then they brought my bill up for other stuff. I think it is just because I returned the boxes so they had to make up the loss in another way! I have called them more than once to get explanations on these bills but of course they go round and round about the charge and tell me everything is going up! Really!!! Charge to much, bad customer service, no longer let you see rates online, and their technicians get rude and horrible customer service. Let's not forget that there is no first responder discounts, only $9.25 low income discount which Verizon Forward gives an extra $20 on top of that. Verizon has other discount also and all their discounts stack. Fios is also at least 10x fast on uploads on their slower internet speed and almost 50x faster on there 1gb speeds. Verizon will also allow you to use the low income discount on any speed with no restrictions. Verizon includes the router, Spectrum is $10 a month. People need to start talking to their Cable Advisory Committee in the towns / cities they live in to get Verizon Fios if it's not available yet. I gave up Spectrum as soon as Verizon Fios became available and I will never look back.... read more

Spectrum is making me waste hours of my day by refusing to process the payment for my device and getting my phone unlocked. Their evil actions towards customers are taking the payments you make and adding it as "misapplied core payment", also taking a single payment from the customers and sending multiple transactions to the customer's credit card. The final goal of this evil practice is to keep your phone locked so they can send new billing cycles to you. Their mobile service is poor and presents many dead spots. Massachusset's state should have more than one option for Worcester County. Many people are simply forced to sign with this evil company. All we needed was a new router which the service tech on the phone told me we needed a new router. When we got to the store they took people that made appointments online, which we did not know that we could do, than they took the people that made appointments online first. How does that work???? So, all they did was wait for the walk-ins to leave one by one because they were not being fair to the walk-ins. I called Spectrum on 8/3/23 to cancel our service due to a promotion ending and our monthly bill increasing. The rep transferred me to the retention dept and I was given a promotion price of $89.98 for basic cable and internet. I accepted the promotion. On my next bill the price was $94.98. When I called to ask why, I was told there was a rate increase across the board of $5 on 8/4/23. There was no mention of this during our entire phone call, that my bill would actually be $94.98 as of midnight that night. After 6 months the price continuously went up until I was being charged almost $70 a month for internet only. This Charter Spectrum Cable Communications location is an organizational mess, and an extremely disappointing service to use. They mailed me WiFi equipment after I pickup the same WiFi equipment from the store, resulting in an additional trip to this long-lined, long wait time store. The staff don't move with much efficiency, particularly as they ask customers about upgrading their services, when that isn't the purpose of their visit, for example. The store would benefit greatly from tactics to speed up service, such as entering the purpose for a visit at the check-in computer at the front entrance. But to further my negative experience here, the WiFi has gone out several times, and spectrum continues to have no idea why, even after too much time waiting on hold and uselessly speaking to representatives on the phone. read more

Went to the grafton st location and got the WORST customer service I have ever experienced in my life. Sat there for 1 hr and 45 minutes after being told it would be about a half hour wait and still did not get helped. Several customers came in and waited with me but they left after about 30 minutes without being helped. I watched 1 customer walk out the door after being helped. So in 1 hr and 45 minutes they were able to check out only 1 person. Two employees were working and 2 more Were " on there break I was told. So 4 total employees were working and only 1 customer was helped In 105 minutes of me being there. Saying the customer service was sad is giving it too much credit.
