DO NOT USE this business!!! Horribly managed!! I absolutely agree with Lindsay C.'s post. I was told that my son would be rescheduled when our therapist left and no one contacted me. I called and left messages over TEN times and never received a call back or an email response. A few months later, I began receiving a bill for an account amount that was ALREADY paid and I had proof of payment. I AGAIN spent my valuable time calling and calling in hopes to speak to someone regarding the bill and AGAIN never received a call or email in return. My hope is that Speech and Voice Experience be put out of business!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE please, please please avoid them at all costs!! read more

I worked with Brooke Goldstein for several months in 2020. It was a fantastic experience and Brooke was top notch. In late October 2022 I emailed and called to schedule a refresher session. I waited three weeks for a response and was told Brooke no longer works here. I was told that I would need to be seen by another clinician for an evaluation. I was offered an appointment for early December. However, I never received a confirmation or telehealth link for that appointment. When I contacted the office on 11/30 to inquire about the logistics for the appointment, it would no longer work. I was offered another appointment on January 5. Again, I received no confirmation and no telehealth link. I emailed and called the office on January 5 and have yet to receive communication from them. Needless to say, my January 5 appointment did not happen. So, what should have been a simple refresher session has turned into three months of me trying to secure an appointment. Additionally, all communication has been via email since no one ever answers the office phone or returns calls. I am very disappointed in my current experience with this office. It should not be this much of a process to get an appointment, particularly as an established patient. I am not sure what has happened in the past year, but things clearly went downhill quickly. If you have other options for providers, you should pursue them first. Update: It's is now 1/16 and I have heard nothing from the office about the fact that they blew off my appointment. No response to my emails or voice mails. So, they clearly are not concerned about their patients. read more

I was referred by another speech therapist after it was suspected that my 2 year old may have childhood apraxia of speech in March 2017. We were working with the Montgomery County Infants & Toddlers program as well (until 8/2017), but felt he was not progressing & decided to seek out more direct, private services to supplement the parent-coaching model utilized by the County. My son has been working with Rodney since March and we could not be more pleased with the progress he is making! In the past five months, his expressive communication & language skills have gone from primarily grunting & pointing to now being able to repeat multi-word simple phrases! While it is still difficult to sometimes comprehend the words, he now has the confidence to at least attempt the modeled words/phrases vs. his previous MO of shutting down completely and walking away when asked to try a word. The county's speech therapist was so impressed with the progress he was making that she even said she has never seen a child respond to private therapy and the PROMT method as well as my son. As a parent, it has been difficult to grasp the fact that this was/is not simply a severe developmental language delay - my son would not wake-up and simply have the "language explosion" associated with the 18+ month period. We know that we/he will have to work extra hard to elicit specific [verbal] sounds, but it gives us so much hope when we see the tremendous progress he has made over the past few months. Tino in his delivery as a top notch speech pathologist is gentle, firm, kind, playful, intelligent and warm. 10/10 recommend! I went to Speech & Voice Experience after being referred by an ENT to see a speech pathologist. I had recurring voice loss issues, and saw Marcos over the course of a few months. Throughout our sessions, Marcos provided the physiological context to speech, exercises to slowly build up my own vocal capabilities, and a constant reassurance throughout the process of the progress we were making. I cannot highly enough recommend both Marcos, and the entire Speech & Voice Experience team! read more

My 3-year-old daughter worked with Kristi Ash and looked forward to seeing her for every appointment. Even though we went twice a week, she would ask if we could go see "friend Kristi" almost every day. We saw a remarkable improvement in her speech and would wholeheartedly recommend Language and Voice experience. We switched insurance companies and had an issue with the new insurance which meant we would need to pay out of pocket for a good number of appointments, but Language and Voice Experience worked with us to lower the cost of what we would be paying - and the owner himself called me to work it out. I'm grateful that the whole experience wasn't as painful as it could have been. Great providers and responsive administrators. Definitely a good choice. read more

I'm quite disappointed at the service and providers . I'm glad I have move to another service provider but I would like to let you know that its not your best option. As a parent I believe the safety and health of my child is the most important thing in the world. This year the temperatures were under 20 degrees and the wind made them worst. Due to my child having asthma and being prone to get sick , I email the therapist on Thursday to cancel our 6pm Friday appointment . The response was that they would charge me a $50 dollar cancelation fee for not calling before noon. I decided That because I do not like the way they handle their cancellations I will send their fee and close the case. " Dangerous weather conditions for young children should be part of exceptions to the policy" And so I moved forward until on my child discharge plan, instead of being discrete and simply state the reason for discharge as mother transfer to another provider, they noted that I have close the case for disagreeing with their cancellation policies. Which is a lie because I followed their policy and even offer to pay the cancellation fee. The reason why I close my case is that they don't care about my child wellbeing or health and pretend for me to go in the coldest day. They just want my money and that's it. So be careful as this provider twist the parents words to its own benefits. read more

Angela Rivera is an expert speech therapist. She has worked with my toddler son for over a year, during which time he went from making only sounds to speaking in sentences. She focuses on oral motor development and comes up with lots of creative ideas and games to motivate and engage my son. She is pleasant and patient with parents and kids alike. My two boys have seen Jennifer Rodney Hsia for speech therapy over a number of years and we couldn't be more pleased with the experience and results. Not only is Rodney very effective, she manages to make the process fun and engaging for the kids, who are always happy to work with her. read more

My rating is based on the difficulty in getting an appt. I've called several times to schedule an evaluation for my daughter but can't get a live person on the phone. The office is closed from 12 to 12:30 for lunch and I'm calling at all other times and still can't reach anyone. I left a message for a return call and haven't received one. read more

My child received speech therapy from this group for the summer and it was a disappointing experience. I used this group because they were in-network with my insurance. I was seeking help with augmentative communication because my child is completely non-verbal. I had some limited knowledge of Aug Comm and wasted my summer teaching the speech therapist how to use the device. I should have been charging them for my services, not the other way around. When I saw how much they billed my insurance for their (or rather, MY time) it made me sick. ****The office manager has subsequently contacted me in attempt to get me to retract my review. Believe me that there was no mistaking. My child was seen in this practice and I have old bills signed by Marjorie Shrinsky to prove it. Sorry they don't like my review, but perhaps better damage control is better done on the front end. read more

If I could rate this place in the negatives, I would. I was not only advised against using their services by other speech language pathologists (who freely recommended other providers unrelated to them) but I found them to be unresponsive and inflexible in terms of contracting and billing. They do not answer the phone...ever. They do not respond to emails. It is impossible to do business with someone who refuses to communicate with you. read more

Called numerous times until a receptionist answered. Took two weeks to schedule an appointment. No list of fees available. Appeared to have fuzzy business practices. Client care was not a priority. Unusual garb worn by therapist. Would not take me as client even after lengthy evaluation because I refused to sign agreement to pay collection fees despite signing agreement to pay all fees over and above insurance coverage. read more
