At more than $300 for a single short physical therapy session, I found that their charges are outrageous compared to other places, beware.

Both said that I wasn't yet a candidate for surgery because, at this time, my quality of life was not sufficiently diminished to justify surgery. Both agreed surgery would almost certainly be necessary in the short-to-medium time frame. When I asked what I should do in the interim, they both recommended physical therapy to become more flexible and strengthen my core. I asked my internist, a back pain specialist, and the surgeon I consulted in Washington for recommendations. All three recommended Kathy Braun. I started working with Kathy in December 2022, and it didn't take long to understand why she came so highly recommended. When we started, I had trepidations about whether I--78 years old, moderately overweight, having had a sedentary work and home life, and with an MRI showing severe stenosis--could improve enough with physical therapy to keep the pain manageable and possibly delay surgery. Kathy said I could. From the beginning, she gave me the confidence I needed. After reviewing my MRI reports, she explained how this diagnosis would affect my life and what I needed to do. She started by explaining the changes I should make in my daily life, such as how to walk in a back-friendly way, get in and out of a chair, lift heavy objects, get in and out of bed, and even load and unload a dishwasher. Then, she assessed my core flexibility and strength and developed a stretching program. A few months later, she added strengthening exercises. Then, every few weeks, she would change the exercise program to reflect my progress. In addition, she would work on my back muscles and joints at each session. It's been sixteen months, and I have made tremendous progress, thanks to Kathy. She kept me motivated in a positive way, explained how to do the exercises and why each was important, and never made me feel like I was letting her down in any way. This week, I "graduated." I will continue with my daily exercises and check in with Kathy periodically and on an as-needed basis. My quality of life in the coming years will be much better than it would have been without the physical therapy. I am convinced that I have given myself a good chance to delay the surgery for as long as possible and maybe even avoid the surgery if I'm lucky. I highly recommend her. Jack S.

I am writing this review based on a serious breakdown in care and professionalism…read more Dr. Deming treated me for a foot condition that later developed clear signs of infection, including increasing redness. My concerns about the affected area were not addressed. That same morning, after seeking outside guidance online, I was advised to go to the emergency room due to the risk of infection. I contacted Dr. Deming and was seen that morning, after which I was admitted to Suburban Hospital. At the hospital, the area that had previously been ignored was confirmed to be infected, and I ultimately required surgery that included the removal of bone. I then requested care from a different podiatrist. After I informed the nurse practitioner that I was withdrawing consent for further treatment from Dr. Deming, he later entered my hospital room unannounced, closed the door, and raised his voice, asking, "Am I fired?" I told him I did not want to discuss the matter. Despite this, he proceeded to give unsolicited medical advice about my foot, even though I had withdrawn consent. He ended the interaction by saying "good luck" in a derogatory tone and left visibly angry. I found this interaction distressing and inappropriate, particularly given the medical circumstances. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this provider.

She weaponized the cost of her shoes to convince us of her credibility as a customer who knows good taste. I'll do the same--but to uplift the excellent work of this small business, which has been here longer than I've been alive. I brought in a pair of Tom Ford-era Gucci boots in good condition and a pair of custom Golden Goose high-top sneakers in need of a full resoling. The Gucci boots, which I found on The RealReal and date back to the late nineties to early two-thousands, needed a rubber sole added to preserve their integrity for as long as possible. The rubber was perfectly cut and blended seamlessly with the leather of the original sole. As for the Golden Goose sneakers, I was nervous. I've heard horror stories from customers who went with third-party repair services instead of the brand's in-store $250 repair option. I took the risk of trusting this shop--because my family has been using it for years--and it paid off. The repair was excellent, every bit as good as what Golden Goose's own service should deliver. In conclusion, to the woman who complained about her two thousand dollar shoes: my two better, cooler, and more fashionable pairs look fantastic. For as long as my family resides in this city, we will continue to bring all our shoes here. Support small businesses.
