sent by BAR to help with my smog. refused to replace my oxygen sensors . I asked if they did a diagnostic on it. He said no because they would need to charge me for it when it says right on the Bar assistant form that the diagnostic is paid for through them. told me to drive my car another 500 miles they were no help to me at all. The mechanic was rude. They didn't even pull my car into the bay to inspect. I had to take it to a mechanic that was not on the BAR list to replace my oxygen sensors. Not happy at all. read more

He immediately made me feel super confident about the service that was going to be performed on my Audi Q7. My wife brought her car in to get an oil change and tire rotation today. The manager/owner tries to tell her that it's not necessary, that the tire tread was fine. She called me and I told her to insist that they did it. This fella says, oh well it will take an hour or so. She told him that it was fine and had her sister pick her up. They called her about 5 minutes later and told her that her car was done. She paid and looked at the receipt, it didn't list the tire rotation. These guys are untrustworthy and simply lazy. You will not have a return customer from the 4 of my family members due to this fact. If you simply didn't want to do the rotation, you could have just said so, not make up some bs answer to a woman. Any mechanic worth their salt knows that tire rotation is a necessary maintenance task, especially on an all-wheelndrive vehicle. I'll give 2 stars for completing 1/2 of the job. read more

I would ask yourself of what matters most to you quality or value. Because I made the mistake of taking my 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan for an oil change. Mind you an oil change is a simple job or am I wrong? I knew the shop was at wrong when the owner started saying the always have back up parts for Volkswagen drain bolt. Why would you have have spares anyways and if you say that you deal with Volkswagen vehicles all the time should you not know how to do an oil change and know the parts are plastic. They may have seen many customers coming back with a leak in their oil pan because that happen to mine. Now I'm stuck with high cost of repairing the oil at the dealership, plus I'm out of work because I don't have a car or take my daughter to preschool. So ask yourself, do you want the job done right and save future big repairs or save money at the time for something that may not be done right. The picture attached is the oil in my car. Wait, there's no oil in it because if the leak but this place couldn't even find the leak until I went to another SpeeDee in Stockton, which I would recommend because they found the leak and told me I should have not driven my car from Modesto. My whole back car had oil residue. To top it off the owner is asking me to keep him in contact of my car and for the rest of the week he's on vacation. I had an engine light and some electrical system codes on my truck. So we replaced a bad tensioner and belt which fixed the electrical codes. Naturally, we reset the codes. SpeeDee failed my truck because the codes had been reset recently, then charged $50. They said drive it for a 100 miles and bring it back and they'll only charge $25. Why not ask customers if there's been recent work before charging them. Waste of my time and money. Won't bring any of my vehicles back to SpeeDee again. read more

The used car inspection was cheap enough. But I would honestly suggest to go somewhere else to do pre-purchase inspection. Yesterday I went into Speedy's in Turlock for an oil change. They recommended a transmission fluid change and a rear differential fluid change. I told them the rear differential had been worked on less than a year ago. Then they came back and said it's okay, the fluid looks clean. Then they came back and said we can't do the transmission fluid change because we don't have the right tool. What? That doesn't even make sense. You're in the business of changing oils and fluids and yet you don't have the right tool for my 2006 Ford Mustang? The guy began to stutter and I asked for his Supervisor. The second man came out and explained it a little better, but when I got on YouTube, it said all you needed was a socket wrench. I don't understand this behavior. I don't think I'll be going back to Speedy's, as it seems to be going downhill. Sad, because I used to always get excellent service at Speedy's in Modesto, until that went downhill too. read more

This should have been posted months ago! Lol I have never had one single issue at this location. In fact, I refuse to take my car to any other speedee location. My boyfriend and I have brought our vehicles here multiple times for 3+ years now for oil changes mainly and they have even done small checks on other things for us as well. im always given a receipt (which I keep all records on my vehicle no matter how small or big), and I always get a quick service on my vehicle and a 1on1 talk with the tech after just to get a run over on everything which is SO APPRECIATED!. I always get a techs name if I see a new face. 2, which was Prestin and I believe Jacob. They were both so nice and treated me like a valued customer. If im correct, the manager is Noah and he always gives us a "Hey!" Or a wave even if he's busy when he sees us come in and acknowledges that we're regulars. Just all around great customer service. Went in for an oil change on a Friday and there was absolutely no wait time--the guy told me it would be a quick 15 minute wait. After my service, Prestin approached me and told me what other services he recommended for my car. He explained them in detail and even showed me the dirty air filter in my car, which he swapped out for me. I needed an oil change before Christmas. Came in to SpeeDee, because my mechanic was booked a until after January. Drove up on a Wednesday morning and was greeted immediately. The service was fantastic. Prestin helped me by explaining what he did to my car and asked if I had any questions. He also explained what to do if my tire pressure light didn't turn off and gave me coupons and $10 off next time. I will definitely be coming back to SpeeDee in the future. Forewarning, NEVER go here! I came to this location back in April of 2019 for an oil change. With the oil change, they are supposed to top off fluids, vacuum the floorboards, and to clean front and rear windshields etc. as advertised. NONE of that was done on my car. This made me question whether or not they even changed my oil, so i decided to check. Boy am I glad I did, because they left my 2-3 year old oil filter on! It was yellowed and stained with carbon and was barely even on! You could twist it off with 2 fingers. When I called the shop about it, they guaranteed me it was a new filter and that they performed all the services as advertised. All lies. I called the shop and got my new oil filter and had a friend install it and check everything else. The only thing they did out of their 17 point inspection, was change just the oil. I can only imagine how many other cars they left old oil filters on and didn't do the full 17 point inspection! Or even worse, not change the oil either! Buyer beware. read more

I've been taking my cars here since 2019 for oil changes/ brake replacements/ tune ups, everybody is very friendly and fast, but carefully. They always meet my expectations with everything, the even changes my broken oil pan that I didn't know about for free with an oil change. And fixed my front liscense plate that was broken as well. Typically come here for oil changes as it tends to be a pretty speedee process. I have asked before if they do some pretty tough stuff such as fuel filters and such and theyve said as long as there master tech was there during the week that they would look into getting it done. For $89.99+ theyll give you a full service oil change and check your fluid levels and tires and stuff. They tend to be pretty busy first thing in the morning and especially on weekends but theyll always do the job fairly quickly. No longer than 30 minutes for some basics and 2 hours for any heavy duty stuff. If you ever need to wait its nice to have a taco bell down the street or a park to go sit at locally. read more

Update from my last review from 2 years ago. Went in today around 11 on a Sunday they were busy and I pulled up behind a car in the oil change lane. NOAH immediately gave me a wave to acknowledge that he seen me (which I appreciated instead of just sitting there waiting awkwardly without knowing what to do lol) he came up to me and asked me how I was doing and asked what I needed. I have been coming to this shop for years and always been pretty happy with their oil changes. Unfortunately, I was not so happy with my last experience. One of the reasons I come here is because in addition to the oil change the technicians are supposed to top off car fluids and inspect the battery. It gives me piece of mind knowing they're providing this service. I had my oil change at this location about 2 weeks ago. The next morning I opened my hood to see if they had "topped off" the car fluids like they're supposed to and was not happy to discover that radiator fluid, windshield wiper fluid were low which leads me to believe none of the fluids had been done. This discovery was disappointing, but what bothered me most was that my battery had severe corrosion around the cables which had spilled over to the top of the battery and no one had informed me of this. It's obvious they did not inspect the battery. In the end, I ended up needing a new battery. Thank god I decided to check under the hood the next day, but I think Speedee oil should have inspected it. It is important for a business to provide the service they're advertising. read more
