Got stuck in the snow, in the middle of the road, during a gnarly storm up in Julian. Winds had to be upward of 40+mph with snow and ice piling up everywhere. Joseph happened to be in the area while all other tow companies were not responding, or stuck at the bottom of the mountain due to all roads being closed. He initially didn't think he could get us out and was about to leave, but it just so happened that a heavy equipment loader came by, cleared all the snow from around our vehicle, and dug us out a place to park the vehicle on the side of the road (my family was able to hike out on foot to the place we were staying, and I was only concerned with getting our vehicle out of the roadway). Speedee Towing was then able to get close enough to hook up our car, pull us out of the underlying snow that we were stuck in/on, and move us to the spot that the loader had dug out. Joseph was awesome. He worked hard for the situation we were in, and seemed to really care about the safety of everyone involved, including other drivers in the area who were stuck. Of course, as the weather picked up, the cost kept increasing. From $200, to $250, then finally $300 (This is not a dig... as mentioned, this situation and weather were both insane. It took a few hours from initial arrival to when we were moved off the road). Joseph had me call in to their office and Evan (sp?) worked to try and get me a reimbursement letter for my particular insurance company... still waiting to see if I get reimbursed. Overall, communication has been excellent. Next morning, all I had to do was spend a few hours digging our van out of the snow and ice... but we were on the side of the road, and not blocking traffic. read more

Apparently they didn't like my answer because they canceled my tow request without even telling me. Worst experience ever. I am sitting on the side of the road and this tow company was dispatched through my roadside assistance. After an hour and some the driver pulled up an said two of my lugs were stripped. He said you see this these are stripped, I said I know what stripped is. What does that mean in this situation? (Opening it up for "we'll need to tow you") He said the tires not coming off. I said so I have been waiting for you for an hour and a half for you to tell me "the tire is not coming off"? He said it's not my fault they're stripped! Got in his truck and took off, leaving me on the side of the road. WTF?? This is the worst customer service ever. Speedee got sent out by my insurance company after another company left me stranded for 5 hours. They were dispatched at 6 PM yesterday with an ETA of 45 minutes. My friend went to see if replacing the battery in my car would work. He arrived around 7pm and had the battery replaced and the car running by 7:30, and the tow truck still wasn't there. The worst part is according to the USAA roadside tracking app, Speedee claimed to have picked my car up. This was impossible, because my friend had already replaced the dead battery and was IN MY CAR driving it back to my house. I'm really hoping that it was just a miscommunication and not an outright lie/an attempt to scam. Unprofessional. Edit: Idk why they claim they couldn't find where my vehicle was, considering it was on a main road at a gas station with the address and exact details provided. Also, why didn't anyone reach out to me? Why was it claimed that my car was picked up when it was not? Speedee quoted 60-75 min ETA. 1.5 hour wait later, I called Speedee, dispatcher said 15 more minutes. 5 min later driver calls and said he is about one hour away and had no idea why his company took the job from my roadside assistance provider as "I was out of their service area." I then got a text from roadside assistance saying Speedee was now declining the job. 2 hours wasted. New company called, came in an hour. Speedee wasted over 3 hours of my time with no apology. Hello people if I was able to give 0 I would give negative. I was stranded on an icy road and here come a tow truck out of nowhere and stopped to supposedly help. A gentleman by the name of Joe approached me and said I can help you. I said I'm stuck in the snow and he said For $200 I can tow you out and I said I have triple AAA and onstar and he said they won't come for a couple hours. I said let me try to get the car out myself and he said if you get this car out yourself I'll give you $200. I do this all the time and I won't lie to you he said, I'll charge you $200 and call the office get you a receipt and file a reimbursement with your insurance and if they don't pay you we will work something out or I'll give you your money back. I said ok that sounds great and Joe did his thing and wenched me out and I paid $200. A month passes and I got denied from onstar and triple AAA., I called the office and gave them the spiel and the guy said I got your number let the manger come in and he will call you. I said what can he do since I got denied and he said we can give you another receipt and you can claim it. I told him that's a scam you can't do that, but I'll wait for the manager. I gave the manager 2 weeks to come in and nothing so I called them and it went straight to voicemail. I found that to be odd so I called from my sons phone and the phone rang but nobody answered, So at this point Speedee blocked me from calling them lol how professional. So since I'm not able to call them I decided let me go to there location off Jamacha and it lead me to a gas station. Second location off of Home ave was a gas station. Third location was an ice company lmao. No tow yards were ever found. There is no way these positive ratings are true. These people are scam artist. Yesterday, as I was driving, I looked in the rearview mirror and saw a huge plume of white smoke coming from my tailpipe. I slowed down and it happened again. I went through Peddle to sell my old junk car. They arranged for my vehicle to be picked up through this towing company. I was scheduled to have it picked up on a Monday between 3 and 8pm. Around 3:30 that day they told me they would not be able to pick up my car due to problems they were having. I rescheduled for them to pick it up that following Friday at the same time frame and they assured me I would hear from them around 3 or 4 that day. I waited until 6:30 and still heard nothing so I called to make sure I wasn't forgotten and I didn't get an answer. I called again and again, about 10 times over the next hour and a half hoping for an update. I left several messages and never heard back from them. I am very frustrated as my car was ticketed for expired tags during the time I've been waiting after the reschedule and this could have been prevented if they had held up their commitment. I really wish I would have heard back from them as the guy who called to reschedule seemed genuinely sorry they couldn't come Monday and tried to be flexible for me with rescheduling. Ultimately I will probably have to go through another company to get rid of my car and I'm really disappointed. read more
