This is the IU Health - Glendale Town Center practice, a practice devoted to primary care and also…read morepediatrics. There's also a lab available in this office. For those familiar with Glendale Town Center, this is located on the second floor of the offices section of the complex on the side directly off of East 62nd Street. There's a small lobby/storefront area directly next to Mattress Firm that has an elevator that will take you to the second floor. There's also a set of stairs available for those who prefer. I needed to establish care with a new primary care physician as my previous one relocated to Shelbyville and is just a bit too far away for me. I'd previously looked at appointments here, however, they were a couple months out and I skipped it. However, because I attend an IU Health clinic elsewhere they were able to get me in within a couple weeks. They do have automatic doors for those who need them. That's a plus. I also noted very quickly that this was one of the better looking and cleaner IU Health clinics I've experienced. I arrived a good 15-20 minutes before my scheduled check-in time and checked in at the front desk. Because I'm an established IU Health patient, I didn't really need to do much else. I waited in the waiting room until I was called. I was taken back in a timely manner. They asked me how I usually got weighed (I don't usually as most clinics are not set up for wheelchair users) and I did note they didn't have any of the modern tech that would do that without a scale. I was taken into an exam room - very small room that would definitely not be considered ADA compliant. It was so small I had to move quite a bit in order for the employees to get around me. I did like that they had an exam bed that was lower to the ground and adjustable. However, this was definitely not an appropriate room for a wheelchair user. My doctor was Dr. Boyce. We had a nice conversation about my needs for the day. She only works part-time in the clinic and we also discussed that. It was a fine appointment - not outstanding, however, there was really nothing wrong with it. I was somewhat hesitant to establish with IU as they are not the top tier of my insurance, however, Dr. Boyce seems nice and this is very close to my home. So, it should work. My hope is that in the future I can utilize a more appropriate exam room. However, overall, this was a solid experience with friendly staff and a warm, comfortable atmosphere.

I've always…read morebeen impressed with the attentive care and kindness shown whether there for a simple blood draw or bone density test to outpatient surgery. The nurses are wonderful preparing the patients for surgery. I'm a hard stick and the nurses always bring in the best and I've never been disappointed in their skill sets. The nurses are friendly, laid-back, informative, take excellent care of the patients and bring calm to nervous patients. Sometimes the surgeons have to push back surgery times but the nurses are excellent keeping patients updated. There is free parking in a large parking area with a few steps to the main entrance. The check-in desk is clearly marked as you enter and takes only seconds. The registration process took less than 5 minutes and afterwards I was walked directly to the radiology department. The staff was fabulous to work with and after my first appointment the tech walked me directly to the next department I had an appointment at. Both techs explained the procedures thoroughly and left me without questions. I was in and out in less than an hour for two appointments. Love how quickly and efficiently they work at this facility. Check if they are in your network and give them a try. I've never be disappointed and I don't think you'll be either.

The practice is located in one of the office buildings directly adjacent to St. Francis Hospital on Indy's southside right on the Indianapolis/Greenwood line. The multi-level building is easily accessible, though as I recall it did not offer the valet services common to Franciscan. There's a load/unload area as parking in the Franciscan parking lot is pretty much a nightmare, though the parking lot is well lit and I've always felt safe there. The doors to the building are power doors, though the doors to the practice located on the fourth floor are not (as is usual for medical offices). I found the door a little heavy, but mostly workable. The practice recently located to this space on the fourth floor of the building. From what I understand, the goal was to expand and better serve. In other words, this was an upgrade from the previous setting. However, as a new patient of Dr. Webb's I had no experience with the old setting. I arrived in the waiting room early - as I'd not yet been released to work, I'd gotten a ride and wanted to make sure I'd arrived on time. We checked in and were seated in the waiting room. If there's a physical weakness to the practice, it's that the waiting room is dreadfully inaccessible. I mean seriously. There's basically one or two spots you can sit if you're in a wheelchair and I could not wheel through the aisles to get out of the way of the door. This could easily be made accessible, but they're not there yet. As people started to arrive, it definitely felt small. I will admit I kind of wondered how this could possibly be an upgrade. Our call back was close to on time - the nurse did the usual check-in activities. She was professional, though you can always tell a difference in the personality of surgeons' offices versus other specialties. I think they like to feel like it's "professional," but it definitely lacks a personal feeling. I was taken into a small exam room - barely room for a wheelchair to turn around. There were no lower tables or anything that would allow for exam. This was especially weird in my case since I'd had an amputation and would have had difficulty transferring if needed. The doctor examined me in my chair and took out the stitches. It is worth noting that five stitches were actually missed - which could be a big deal and would have been avoidable with decent exam equipment. The exam was quick, though I covered most of that in my physician review. As healing was largely positive, I did not require a second appointment but would, of course, follow-up if further complications would arise. My visit to Vascular Surgeons of Indianapolis was perfectly fine. It accomplished the task, but I couldn't help but feel like greater attention to accessibility would be helpful - in both the waiting room and exam room. As I was certainly not in every exam room, I can't speak to whether or not a better option is available - just what I was offered. I appreciated that billing was prompt and accurate. As someone facing a lot of bills due to a recent amputation, prompt processing has allowed me to maintain a clear picture of my responsibilities. I had no issues with the financial aspects of this visit.

I have tried to call and never gotten through to my doctor for weeks. They use phreesia check in system and I always feel the devices are dirty. Discussions for patient check are not personal nor friendly. The receptionist is curt with patients as she tells the to stand in line. The waiting room his clean and remodeled. There is a slim selection of magazines and no television or music. And I just got yelled at for not returning my phreesia. Yikes!! It is a good thing I love my doctor or I would never come here. They have online checkin that circumvents much of the checkin.

The scheduling system is easy to use. And the communication between the Breast Center and the physician's office is great. I had my routine annual mammogram and physical, the mammogram results were with Dr. Hirsch within a day. It's great not to have to wait for results. And mist importantly, Dr. Hirsch has a great bedside manner. I have never waited long in the exam room, and she is engaging. She's clearly very intelligent but in the most friendly manner. She is thorough and careful. I feel like I get great care and I never feel like she's rushing, even though I am aware that her practice is quite busy.

The reception staff is always super friendly and check-in is not difficult. I went today to have my eye looked at. I was seen within 15 minutes of arrival. Alyson was friendly, communicative and took vitals and history. I was seen by a nurse practitioner, who also was friendly and asked about the symptoms and prescribed some meds. In and out in 30 minutes. The waiting area is somewhat dated but spacious. There is plenty of free parking outside. I'll keep coming back and I recommend.
