This is a Speedway gemmmm! Such a fun experience and the perfect place to try something new, especially if you've never been karting before! What a random but fun night on the karts! I must drive like Miss Daisy because I came in last place on each round but it was so much fun! Lol Check-in and signing the waivers was a breeze. We had to watch a short safety video before we got started but it was certainly helpful. The only con: I asked one of the employees if the protective head scarves were new and he responded, "yeah, we wash them everyday" lol. Mood: the need for SPEED fun is all i can say. It was heart pumping fun! They really give you a chance to just escape and go fast. We did two sessions and the pricing was good not crazy expensive. You just have to go karting! Really was cool they took our photos, safety info, and made it really easy to enjoy. We did a group Grand Prix race for my fiance birthday and it was a success! They only let you book group events a week before the day you want to come but the process was easy. They ask that you arrive 30 mins before your race starts just to get paperwork filled out. We had friends who got there 10 mins before the race started and they didn't care. You have to watch a safety video 10 mins before your race starts. The race was a lot of fun. For the Grand Prix you do a practice lap, qualification lap and the actual race. After the practice lap and qualification lap you get out of the car and off the track for 10 mins and rest then another party of guest will go on the track. Which was nice because your legs do get sore from racing for 8 minutes. I think they said each time we were on the track was 8 or 10 mins. They give your group 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals. read more

The customer service is terrible, and very judgmental. I have tattoos all over and bc of the owners wife had a problem with how i parked my cart. When I got up she stated that i could leave or be band without no reasoning. I walked away. Then she proceeded to follow me and then started another problem at the desk when I tried to start my second race. I waited to speak to the owner. The next day he stated that I was as banned and was not allowed to revive a full refund. Without giving me any type of reason. They do have nice carts and it's very convenient, I would just say that they need to work on their people skills heavy!! We were looking for something to do with the kids and we had a great time! I think there was an initial Annual fee of $10, which seems like a rip, but what do you do. Kids were in their youth age group, so the only way to race with them was to drive in their youth cars. I fit "snuggly" but I fit, so my wife and I were able to race with the boys. There are two karts, a youth and adult, size and speed are the difference. But being able to race together was worth it. Course was two stories and was a lot of fun. The margs are gas and it was rather chilly, so be prepared. They have a Email they send you with your racing times and the place you finished in your race, as well as it's posted on their TV's. You do get a free race on your birthday, so we will definitely do it again for our birthdays. The kids and my wife all had a great time. Overall, great time. They do staff it pretty well, as I think there were at least three employees around the track, in case anyone spun out. read more

It was a super cold and rainy on the day that we decided to go. It cost $88 for all of us to go around the track once and bowl one quick game. You have to fill out a waiver $10 per person just to play. Staring these cars and making turns is super hard. I was really hurting my wrist. Just trying to turn for the curves. My son said the same thing. The go carts/gentleman was super nice and friendly. It only takes about 10 minutes to ride around the track a few times before you turn it over. Afterwords, we went bowling and had a great time, but had no way to put our actual names in the system or silly names while playing here can add up real quick in this place. But we came to go cart and left doing both on a super icy cold day. read more

This place is a bit of a logistical mess, but i got to do what I came here for... drive recklessly in a "fast" go-cart and race some friends. The carts are quite uncomfortable but didn't really expect them to be. They all do seem to go about the exact same speed, which was nice because sometimes people will end up with an advantage at places like this. The track is fun, do the road course as it's much more interesting. Just don't hit the brakes while turning or you'll either stop or spin and someone like me will plow into you. Guy was upset that I hit him but maybe learn how to take a corner and it wouldn't be an issue. Anyway... As for timing/process, don't expect much. We had a "reservation" for 2 races, but didn't get our first race in until 40 minutes later. Then we got out and had to wait another race before we did our second race. Plan accordingly, and don't plan anything immediately following your time here unless it's something you want an excuse to miss anyway. Safety video is on a loop in a room and no one cares or monitors whether anyone watches it. Maybe the guy I slammed into should've watched it. Overall, it was a good time and I'd go back. read more

This two story track is very fun. I would not recommend doing the slick track. It's definitely for a more advanced driver. The regular course track is a must. Made an online reservation for go karting. Was not able to make a reservation for ax throwing or the $10 license fee. They provide helmets,head bands and neck supports in the few. There are three tracks and we rode the bigger one..I will admit it was rather scary being around other cars on the track but it was fun. My experience was similar to others where we waited quite a while even after everybody arrived and then waited quite a while again as other groups went before we got our second round in. The track facility looks nice but it is a bit cramped and there's really no place to pass. Even the one spot that could be suitable for it on the upper level squeezes down to one car width. As a result, expect to get pretty beat up as the only hope for passing is to take some chances and hit somebody. The cars aren't tuned the same. You can have wildly different results just depending on which car you manage to get assigned. Also, unlike other indoor kart places, these are old school gas powered karts and not the more modern electric karts. It's a fun time but it's not the best indoor karting I've experienced. read more

SI Karting was more fun than expected. While I have been to 1911 Grill, this was my first time partaking the karting portion of the establishment. I had mild expectations since it was an indoor track, but after the safety videos and donning actual helmets, you know the karting was legit. And the karts can go up to 38 MPH. The track featured quite a few turns and a back straightway. It's a fun track but I wondered how much passing you can really do. The kart handled pretty well but you can definitely drift a little bit. The seating position was snug but comfortable. I can see SI Karting as a great place for group events or work outings. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I definitely needed assistance gearing up and strapping on the helmet. And having a bar and grill next door really helped with pre or post race activities. If I can get an opportunity I would visit SI Karting again. read more

Alright, let me explain. This place is so incredibly fun, the facility itself is clean, and the staff are decent. I would love to give this place 5 stars, but hear me out. I'm EXTREMELY disappointed at the complete lack of COVID protocols. There was: *Nothing posted inside about COVID or preventing the spread. *NO social distancing required inside. *NO staff wearing masks. And, most importantly, *NO sanitization of the carts, neck braces, or helmets between races. I mean, what?! People are breathing INSIDE the helmet, leaving traces of respiratory droplets INSIDE the helmet, and they don't sanitize it between use???? One of the staff took the neck braces we already had around our necks because they were "running low", and handed them to other people. Just...really concerning overall. They did have hand sanitizer available to patrons. I guess that's one positive thing. read more

Go-karting is my new favorite thing! Recently had a chance to race the road course here with my colleagues from work! As we had a large group, our coordinator called ahead just to give them a heads up that we were coming. When you enter, you either sign up or sign in with your registered name and number. You can find their pricing packages and requirements on the website. SiKarting does a great job with having everything organized. There are lockers to rent (free) if you give them your driver's license. Be sure to watch the video if it's your first time so you know what to do and what to look for. You will likely have to wait for your racing spot. We had to wait about an hour and a half after arrival to start racing (again, we had a sizable group wanting to race together), but conveniently, the 1911 Grill is a nice place to hang while you wait. There is also a walkway over the track so you can watch other races if you want. There is climate control, but due to the karts, it gets pretty warm inside the racing area on hot days. If you race more than once, you will be sweaty due to the head covering and helmet that you need to wear. However, it's worth it due to the fun you'll have racing around the track at high speeds! I'll admit, it took me that first race to realize how fast we were actually going. If you floor it, you'll be surprised at how fast these are! The rules say not to hit any other karts, and definitely use that brake! Yes, you're racing for time, and it's easy to get caught up in on-the-track racing with other people, but definitely be careful. Getting hit at speed isn't exactly fun. Be safe! I don't know why I've never tried karting before, but I can't wait to go again with more friends! read more

What a fun place to come especially if you have out of town guests. SIK is only a few blocks from Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Main Street. Its close enough you can walk from IMS/Hall of Fame Museum or drive to Main Street. Main Street has car or bicycle parking in front of the building with additional parking in back of SIK/1911 Grill building. This is a family friendly experience as long as you're 8 years old and at least 48", plus signed waiver, to ride the Centurion Mini go kart. SIK also has the Centurion Big Foot go karts to accommodate the Big & Tall customers. They have a 2-seater go kart but it's a special request and you have to schedule. Oh, and an SIK employee is the driver. First get checked in at the desk. There is an annual license fee of $10.00 which is required to race. When you're selecting your package you have the option of three race packages pricing; single - 3 races on the Road Course, Oval Course or Road Course/Oval Combo. The prices are cheaper for 3 races than the singles. Monday - Thursday before 5:00 pm is the cheapest time to race. After 5:00 pm the prices go up a few dollars. Friday thru Saturday is the higher pricing regardless of time of day. A single race before 5:00, Monday - Thursday is $15 and after 5:00 is $20. The three race road course package before 5:00 is $40 and after 5:00 is $50. They take safety seriously here. Once you're checked in you view a short safety video narrated by Sarah Fisher and Andy O'Gara. Next you're fitted for a head sock and helmet then your neck support collar. Once you're dressed then it's off to the go karts. The employees are very helpful and will answer any questions. Note the course rules as they are strictly enforced for those of you who enjoy intentional bumping. Here the race is timed, 7 minutes, and each driver has scoring times available after the race. No guessing who was fastest on the course. If you're coming for a special occasion or have a large group be sure to check out the schedule on their website (www.sikarting.com). It will have the dates and times closed for special events. The information to schedule your own special event is located on the website. By the way, several tall top tables and sofas are located in the waiting area or go next door to 1911 Grill where you can watch the drivers or dine afterwards. I was there this past Saturday for my granddaughter's birthday party. We paid for a total of 13 people to race (2 heats). During the 2nd heat, 2 employees ran with us. I would not have an issue had both of them not spun myself and several others out. I have a HUGE bruise from where I was hit by an employee. During the training video it says not to hit/bump other cars...I think this needs to me addressed with YOUR employees before someone gets hurt. I paid a lot of money to race, not get spun out and HIT by an employee. I was told by an employee (who was 17 at most) that it was a part of racing! The manager who came out did not try to understand or "manage" what had happened. I got the blank stare from him, so I had to walk away, so I could calm down. Hold onto your seat -- these karts can move! From my very first visit, SIK has far exceeded my expectations for a go-karting experience. The multi-level, indoor course is so unique and a great challenge. There's often a wait for the road course during peak times, but it's absolutely worth it to go full throttle through the ups-and-downs, twists-and-turns. There's just a few spots where I wish the track was a bit wider to make passing a little easier, but the staff does a great job of prepping drivers for a safe experience. Indoor, 2 level track with gasoline karts in a modern warehouse. Karts are not particularly fast, track is mostly tight turns with few places to pass, not a very good flow track. Surface is slick and transitions are abrupt which makes it easy to spin out. Karts we're newish, but not in great shape as mine had several broken fairings. Expensive at $30/5min race, plus a $10 driver fee. The whole building smells like partially burned exhaust and made my eyes water. Head socks provided, but shared helmets and neck braces maybe cleaned once a day? Pluses are that it is close to the Indy Speedway, and the upstairs has a bar/pizza/gaming center. They also have a slick track which is banked but tiny, and a tiny oval for very junior drivers. It was still somewhat fun for karting, just not a place I'd want to go back to, and not a good value for the cost. read more

The road track was fun. Just a little bit of instruction on the road course would have been nice. The place has potential, but I wish the staff had better communication. I would not waste money on the oval course or slick track again. I think the road course would be cool after the first time since you have to figure it out yourself. I was happy with this place until as of recent. I'll try to keep this as short as possible, but I am mainly focusing on my last experience here. Some friends and I came here on 1/6/18 and had a pretty bad experience all the way around. First, the track was very cold (as they do not heat the building) and it was pretty much was not drivable and dangerous. Secondly, we were lied to by the staff. They said they would let us have our own heat so we waited and extra hour, to only have the staff shrug their shoulders and act like there was nothing they could do when we found out they put 7 other people in the heat we waited for. What really really upset me personally, was the way Sarah Fisher handled the situation. She emailed me to try and resolve this over the course of a week or two, to only leave us high and dry and never respond back. From the top to the bottom I am more than disappointed in this place. read more

I'm bummed! We came to have a fun morning of go karting. I checked Facebook and they said they would be open until 11am but then had private events the rest of the day. I was cool with that as we were going to just make it .. and we did, at 10am. There was a sign that said, now, they'll be closed from 10a until 6p! I wasted gas coming all of the way down here and I checked Facebook before we left and there were no new updates. The one thing I could have changed is calling ahead of time to double check. When in Indianapolis you must drive a race car, right?! Well we squeezed in a little time for this since it was across from a restaurant we tried. There was a wait so we didn't get to go around more then once but boy do we wish we had more time because it was so much fun! Once we watched the safety video & had to put one our lovely helmets I was excited to get into my 'Indy Car' but my husband was like a little boy ready to speed away.
