I was warmly welcomed , I had told them it was my first time and the two girls explained what their favorites are along with customers favorites. The entire interaction was genuine and wholesome. Good job to the girls making food and drinks, their attitudes were absolutely outstanding. Now the coffee.... Best coffee I've ever had hands down!! This place is 40 minutes from my house but this will definitely be a weekly stop!

Introduction:…read more Finishing up the last 2 of the prior to 2018 to 2024 runner-ups to non-DMV picks in alphabet series. First of two 2024 runner-ups, B is for Bethel Brews. Although this is technically not in the DC-Baltimore area as it's geographically closer to Richmond & Charlottesville areas, I'm counting it for these reasons: 1. It was a good runner-up for the letter B, which my original pick was truly out of town by Smith Mountain Lake, also in Virginia, but way southwest. 2. This place was great, so I wanted to get around to reviewing 3. I had Louisa County, VA work travel twice in March & April 2024 and was rolled into the BAWA (Baltimore-Washington area) work market, perhaps because the Virginia market, which includes Richmond & many areas to the south & west is such a vast land area with many counties, they barely rolled Louisa into BAWA market. Experience here: Staff greeted me and was friendly. On Monday, March 4, 2024, I got a wrap & fries. It really hit the spot. Excellent wrap & fries at a reasonable price. I think I got one of their coffees that day, but definitely did in April as I have photo of the drink. On Monday, April 15, 2024, I remembered it was a great lunch option that I decided when in Rome to go back, got a fruity chicken salad, which was also solid. I was tired from all the driving and got some latte I think; it was delicious. I haven't been back to Louisa County since April 2024 work travel, but if I ever am, I'd try to return.

Everything was so fresh and perfectly balanced. It was so good that we ended up ordering two more to go just so our older teens could try it too! We also had the kale and roasted grape salad, and it was exactly what my palate needed--light, refreshing, and full of flavor. You can really tell they put thought into every ingredient. Overall, such a great spot with amazing food and attention to detail. We'll definitely be back!

Seeing how much looked good and we were tourists, we over-ordered and got to try a little of everything. From the summer menu, we got Biscuit and Gravy, Paradise Parfait, and the Bread Pudding. I enjoyed my biscuit and gravy - pretty solid. Child #1 devoured his parfait (I tried it and I think it may have been my favorite item - they also have a vegan chia seed option - a woman was enjoying hers next to us when we waited in line), and my wife loved the bread pudding, which has a nice maple glaze to it. We also grabbed several of their pastries, including some scones, a muffin, and a buckwheat cake slice. All were great, though the buckwheat pastry was a tad dry. They have a lot of standard offerings of a coffee shop - teas, coffees, lattes, etc. I got a matcha latte and found it to be earthy and not too sweet. The inside is a bit narrow, especially when you consider a long line. The staff are efficient but don't lose their warm hospitality. Broad Porch has an Air BNB "Loft in Luray" located upstairs. I imagine it would be wonderful waking up to the smell of coffee and pastries. I would say if you're visiting Luray, Broad Porch is a MUST VISIT. There's something for everyone. Highly recommended.

Upon entering, you're warmly welcomed by the staff and local goods. We wanted a filling breakfast before a hike and some morning coffee. I got a mocha and my partner got a drip coffee. I also built my own breakfast sandwich and ordered the sourdough, American cheese, sausage, and egg. My partner ordered the same but with an added tomato. He joked about not having it in the coffee, but in the sandwich. The staff riffed along. We didn't wait too long for our orders and enjoyed our drinks and food in a room filled with yummy natural lighting. While I didn't enjoy my iced mocha as much as I would've like to, I loved my sandwich. The mocha was a little more syrupy thank I would've liked. My partner's coffee was good though. And my breakfast sandwich really hit the spot to help me feel full before our hike. When his sandwich came out we realized the tomato was missing. He went to ask and the barista made a very cute joke about it being in the coffee before giving him a plate of tomato to make up for it. I loved that. I highly recommend visiting Maybelle's on Main for yummy food, coffee, and great service.

Well it all came down to the customer service and food delivery time. When we first sat down, nothing was mentioned to us about the service times. We were greeted and just kinda tossed into a spot. I say it that way b/c they weren't very amenable in how they sat us. After sitting down, they did the order, drinks, etc. like usual. The catch - they were MASSIVELY behind on their ticket times. Was it busy? A little, there were still seats around us available though. Now when I say massively behind, it took us nearly 50 minutes for our food to arrive. That's just crazy for a lunch service. In the future, if they were that behind on ticket times, it would help all the customers in the restaurant (allowing tickets to stop backlogging), and set the expectations for the new customers coming in. Maybe it was a one-off, but it definitely prevented us from even considering it when we were looking at places to eat.
