I walked in expecting the usual quick stop, but WOW -- the night shift workers turned it into a full-on hospitality experience. These folks aren't just friendly... they're NEXT-LEVEL friendly. The kind of friendly where you walk in at 2 a.m. groggy and half-awake, and suddenly you're smiling like you just walked into a surprise birthday party. They greet you like they've known you your whole life. They make getting gas feel like checking into a luxury hotel. I'm pretty sure one of them offered me life advice AND snack recommendations with the wisdom of a sage. The store was super clean, the coffee fresh, and the vibe immaculate. If there were an award for "Best Gas Station Atmosphere After Midnight," this place would win every single year. If you're passing by late at night, do yourself a favor and stop here. I'm sorry, there is no way that's legal. Anything bought under $5 on debit has a 55cent tax. I use debit and credit cards everywhere and I've NEVER been charged so much. I've seen them charge customers different prices higher prices than what's posted. Most of the items dont have pricing on the so they can charge you 100-400% more. Unfortunately this is the closest local store that I can go to since I dont drive, yet, but weather permitted I will ride my bike to a further store. They have a lot of unhappy customers which is probably why one of their window was smashed out .....I DO NOT CONDONE VIOLENCE OR DAMAGING SOMEONE PROPERTY AT ALL, but I guess karma is a bitch after all. Prices are very competitive and the selection is much greater than some of the other nearby liquor stores. They had a wide range of each varietal with prices ranging from the lowest (5.99) to fairly high quality stuff. The beauty is in the one stop shop nature. The market has a lot of goodies that you can grab as you fill up, and the easy in and out on a busy intersection makes this next level convenience. The store has a cooler with cold prosecco and white options if you're looking to grab something en route to a party or gathering. I will absolutely be back!

First they accept coupons. Both BJ's and Manufacturer coupons, and you can use 1 manufacturer coupon and one BJ's coupon on 1 single item. So if you are really into savings..BJ's is the club where you are going to save the most. Especially when you have a coupon and a product also happens to be on sale(which I find happens often) Those savings really start to pile up. Keep in mind that these clubs sell almost all the same products you buy at any wholesale club(minus the house brand name products) Second They have a Deli where you can get cold-cuts for probably the best consistent price around..I'm talking domestic prosciutto where every deli in rochester sells it for 20 dollars a pound..BJ's sells it for 7.99lb. In My opinion that alone is enough for me to keep a membership. (I love prosciutto) And most of the other cold-cuts they sell do not go over 8 dollars a pound. Third they do not ask for your Membership ID when you enter the store which is a minor thing but it's nice. They also have 4 locations in rochester. Which makes it super convenient to live fairly close to one. Now for the bad part. First their bakery items have gone down hill since the 90s and early to mid 2000's when I used to go here. I guess for me it's not a big deal now as I don't really eat sweets anymore..But if you expect the bakery items to be as good as Costco or Sams Club..You might be disappointed. Sometime in 2010 or so they stopped baking their bakery goods in store..and had them shipped in and I really noticed the difference for the worse. Quality just isn't there anymore. They No longer have a food court(at east at this location) which could be a deal breaker for some..But in my opinion their food court was never very good. Even with these negatives I feel BJ's has enough positives to give it 4 stars.

I'm so used to Wegmans, which is a powerhouse, that I was shocked to see how few registers they had up front. But the lines were not long. They have a good sized produce section, a deli, and a bakery. (Apparently they make the donuts from scratch!) I picked up a few of those to try, and they were delicious. In the back by the bakery is a cute little floral department. Spring gnome decorations were EVERYWHERE, and my daughter thought that was just THE BEST. There is also a pharmacy nestled right in the middle of the store. Prices were a bit more expensive than you'd find at the "big box" stores for many items, but I saw quite a few that were price comparable or cheaper. They've got some great day of the week deals (like sticks of butter on Tuesday, a half gallon of milk on Friday). I also loved the signage - they tagged gluten free, dairy free, heart healthy, and sales were easy to spot. For being a smaller store, they also had a pretty great selection of specialty items! There was a good 4ft sized section in produce devoted to meat free and dairy free right up front. I definitely plan on going back to try out more of the baked goods, and the pizza slices smelled delicious, too!
