I called at 1 pm, spoke to Oscar, who quoted $350/hour, and the driver would be there in 45 minutes. The driver took over 2 hours to arrive, yet the total time from the initial phone call to delivery was 4 hours, but the final bill was $2680! I called and emailed the company for over a week, and NO ONE RESPONDED! Use West & Sons Towing or Suburban Towing as an alternative. read more

Complete rip off. When I requested a tow they quoted a hook up price and a price per miles. Most tow firms charge mileage from pick up to drop off. Not Speedy G. Their mileage charge is from their facility, then the actual tow and mileage back to their facility. And they will not unhook the car until paid. If you can't pay immediately they take the car back to their facility until paid plus charge daily storage. read more

We recently called this company for a basic winch-out on an empty semi truck and trailer that was stuck on snow and ice. They never disclosed any pricing before dispatching or performing the service. After pulling the truck out, they presented a bill for $5,572. For comparison, we had a nearly identical winch-out done the day before by another company for $650, which is typical for the industry. When we questioned the charges, the operator refused to unhook or release our truck until the full amount was paid. This experience felt extremely predatory and completely unreasonable. We have reported them to the Attorney General's office in both the State of Illinois and State of Missouri in hopes that they will intervene with this predatory company. read more

Waited over an hour from the projected ETA. Called the driver and he told me he would arrive in 10 minutes. Waited 20 minutes only to call again and be told that he had been dispatched to another vehicle. Finally, over 1 hr 45 mins after our tow was scheduled to arrive a truck came and charged us $400 because they "had to travel 30 miles to get to us". Do not use this company. They excessively overcharge, and when I called and e-mailed them to discuss this, no one has ever returned my calls. Facts: At 6:00pm on a Friday night, vehicle on wet grass in a hotel parking lot and could not get traction to get back on the pavement. My Driver called local towing companies & Speedy G Towing was able to help. Speedy G Driver was on site within 30 minutes and pulled the vehicle back onto the pavement. Total time on site was less than 40 minutes. Speedy G Driver asked my Driver for a credit card and ran the charges on site without telling my Driver the cost. The charge that he applied on my Driver's credit card was $1585.24. Breakdown of charges: 3 line items on their bill. (1) Fuel Surcharge $247.50, Speedy G is located 10 miles from the hotel the service took place. Their round trip to perform this service was 20 miles and they charged $247.50 for a fuel surcharge. (2) Winch/Recovery $495.00 per hour x 2.5 hours = $1237.50. With their drive time to and from the site, their Driver had a hour of time in this job, but they charge 2.5 hours. (3) Convenience Fee of $100.24, really what is this? These three line items add up to $1585.24 that they charged on my Driver's company credit card. The following Monday I called Speedy G Towing and left several messages and no one called me back. I also sent them an e-mail through their web site and no one called me back. Obviously their business practice is to screw the out of town customer, and do not accept calls to question their business practices and charges. If you are in the Chicagoland area or Suburbs and need towing help, do not call Speedy G Towing as you will get ripped off. read more

They absolutely scammed me I should have read the reviews before calling. When we first called and asked about a quote on my car being stuck they said they'd have to get there and see how bad it was, (my car was just stuck in the cement barrier in the middle all it needed was a jack and the thing to pull on it so it would get out) I wasn't expecting it to be so much since it was simple enough to get out, we called at 7:30 or a little earlier he gave us a ETA of 10 mins away he took and hour or a little over an hour to get to me. And I kept calling to ask how far he was because a cop had pulled up behind me to make sure I was okay and to make sure the tow truck came, every time he said 10 mins or 6 mins within that hour/little over an hour. When he finally got their he pulled my car out with easy within 10 mins or less saying I got lucky I didn't break anything from my car then took me to a little parking lot away from the cops to let my car off, then he proceeded to tell me the cost was going to BE 495 INSANE?!!!? ALL HE DID WAS MOVE MY CAR FOR 10 MINS TOPS? A different tow truck company would have been less for even towing it back home. I was to nervous to say anything I just I repeated the number back to him and he said yes i was later told I was way way over charged so then my boyfriend called them asking how much it would be they said starting would be 175 then when he questioned why they just charged me 495 they hung up?! Then we called the cops but they said it was a civil matter and their was nothing they could do that it was between us and the company. The cop even told us they have had multiple issues/complaints with this company before. So the cop left and we went inside and we were met with some guy and as soon as my boyfriend tried speaking to him about the situation he proceed to tell us to get outside and that he was quote on quote 'busy' and that we had to wait outside and he would come out. He never came out and some other guy came up to us that was already outside he said to call the number on the board or to go back at 2 and a manager might be there. Can anyone please help me in anyway to maybe try to get a refund or some of my money back? I understand some company's charge by the milages but that was never told to me and he also said he was 10 mins away the first time it is not my fault he was doing whatever else he said 10 and I obviously agreed to the 10 mins.
