Once I gave them all of the specifics of the windshield, they then upped it to $1222 plus tax. They gave me 3 options of their facilities. All were no where near my address, even though they have an Etobicoke location, I would have had to drive out to Thorhill, North York or Scarborough. In the meantime, I called another company and that company told me they would come to my house the next day to do the replacement. That company arrived as scheduled, completed the replacement in less than an hour and charged me $399 plus tax in total. Needless to say, I will never call Speedy again.

They quoted $180 taxes in to replace the cracked windshield on my 2009 Kia Rio5 when everyone else was charging $200+ excluding taxes. On top of that, they offered to come to my workplace to do the job on site. I thought I grabbed an amazing deal. Long story made short: you get what you pay for. Later that day at 5:00 PM, I'm finishing up my shift at work and the workers still didn't show. Tank, the person who answers the phone and the owner, tells me to go to a private body shop near my workplace that they commonly use as a service site and his workers will meet me there. I go to said body shop, and the shop owner is closing up. I advise that my windshield is going to be replaced by Aurum Auto Glass and asked if he was notified to stay open. The shop owner had no clue about what I was saying. The time was 5:30 PM and I call Tank to update him about the situation. He offers to have his workers meet me at my home in 30 minutes to complete the job. It turned out that his workers were 3 cities over and weren't even headed to the body shop. 7:30 PM rolls around and I am still waiting for these workers. Tank has no explanation about the reason for the delay other than his guys being caught up at another job. If it was not already evening, I would have paid more elsewhere to get this job done. The workers finally show up at 8:15 PM after receiving constant calls about directions to my home. They complete the work in an hour. All the while there was no apology or even offer for a discount. It wasn't until I spoke up about the inconvenience did they offer some sort of compensation. The workers then take the cash, and leave. Cut to this morning. I have another vehicle in need of a windshield replacement. Since budget was an issue, and I did end up getting a minor discount during the last fiasco, I thought I would give this company another try. Low and behold, another endless chain of delays and excuses. This time, I had the day off and I only waited an hour before going to a competitor. Stay away. One bad experience may have been a fluke, but the same situation two times within 5 months is just poor management.

The job itself only took about 45 minutes (as scheduled), and I was able to work on my laptop in the waiting room in the meantime. Initially, I was a little skeptical given the really affordable price point, but the work was professionally completed and my new windshield has held up well (1 month later and so far so good). The owner even accidentally misquoted me $20 less than what I should've been quoted (due to a miscommunication re: a rain sensor), but he honoured the price he initially gave me via RAQ given our conversation / text receipts.
