Nice family place. Not that far from Grenada Lake where we were stayed. A lot of ice cream options from sundaes to shakes and a whole list of soft serve flavors. We got burgers and shakes. Burgers were good. Reminded me of a Sonic burger but little smaller. They had a lot of employees. They brought us our food and checked back with us. Very courteous. They were younger people and nice to see that.

Great little hometown drive up place with inside seating along with tons of outside seating and a pretty cool little play area for the kids. They have a walk up window on the outside and an ordering counter inside. Both move really quickly and the staff will come out from behind the counter to take your order in line if it starts getting too long. This is a smart way to keep things flowing and gets the food into the kitchen and being made before you complete your check out. That way when you get to the table your food flys out. We have eaten a couple of times when my kid has Lions Band Camp here in Grenada. It's been very busy both times we came but their efficiency is off the charts. They get you in, get you fed, and out of the seat quickly. Burgers are good. Fries are good. Chili pies are good. It's all good man! Don't forget dessert while you are here. They have tons to choose from and I am sure they have something you would like. The chocolate covered bananas are made to order and darn tasty! They even have pistachio soft serve, YES!

Bae waiting on his burger wondering why they asked him if he was ok because he kept walking in and out waiting for me to come in.

This is the cutest shop. The girls were super friendly and the ambiance was like an old school ice cream shop/McDonalds play land/Dairy Cream back in it's hay day.

This place is almost a road side attraction. Driving thru Grenada around lunchtime, it also was a standout in that it was open for lunch. The menu selection is quite large - milkshakes & sundaes, sandwiches and lots of yummy sounding fried appetizers. The place was already filling up when we arrived. The kids at the service counter are friendly & efficient, plowing thru orders for a decent line in no time at all. The interior looks like a 50's diner, and outside is a decent sized playground for kids, as well as walk up counters for ice cream. I'll bet this place is packed in the summertime. My husband had a burger and buffalo chicken sandwich, both of which he said were quite good. I had a really good grilled cheese, nothing fancy, it was just really tasty. We shared an order of Cajun fries that had good flavor, but boy, were they salty. I would definitely stop again for lunch of a treat should I find myself down that way again.

We stopped while on a road trip. My husband was hoping for a good old-fashioned malt. Spencer's did not disappoint! He got a chocolate peanut butter malt, and it was delicious. I got the Elmer Fudd shake. Chocolate, caramel, coconut, and peanut butter may sound like an odd combination, but it's amazing! This was a nice stop for a sweet treat and a chance to stretch to break up the travel. Bonus: there's a Walgreens next door, so if you think of anything you forgot, you can pop in there and pick it up. Not that I'd know anything about that. We'll stop in at Spencer's again! And if you've got littles who need to burn off some energy, they've got a playground out back. Oh, and a Little Free Library with kids' books.

What a treat! Spencer's is a wonderful, old-school burger joint with window service outside, as well as counter service and a seating area inside. There's a playground too. About the food: first off, I must say that the French fries are the fat, crinkly kind, so if that's not your jam, try the onion rings... or tater tots... or sweet potato waffle fries... so many choices! I don't know how they manage to keep so much food in stock, and train staff to make so many different foods, but I'm glad they do. Portions are generous, the building is clean, and staff is friendly and helpful. I love everything about this place.

Always good! My favorite is the BLT on toast. Always the best. I'm lactose intolerant so I love the banana dipped in dark chocolate. Yum

Very good diner food. Also, good service. You order at the counter but the staff bring it to you and check on refill needs.

Food was great, service was great, always checking on you. The setting remained me of my old home town ice cream shop. The Dairy Queen.

    Pappy’s Burgers & Barbecue - Rib tips...freaking AWESOME!

OK, this is a long one but you'll see why...so my husband and I were traveling back from St. Louis…read moreMissouri passing through Granada, Mississippi when we stopped to get some gas for the last leg of our trip. While we were standing outside filling up our gas tanks, a deliciously, smoky scent wafted our way. When we finished gassing up, we actually followed the scent to the front door of Pappy's burgers and barbecue! There are a couple of things that I associate with good barbecue: for one, there's was this huge grill standing out just outside the front door. The SMELLS coming out of that thing were ridiculous! It made our mouths water! Since the grill was closed, I couldn't see was actually cooking inside of it so I hurried inside to get a view of what we might be potentially eating. We were not disappointed! The ribs and brisket on customer's plates look amazing! They were large cuts of brisket, (including the fatty side, which I personally LOVE), and the ribs were thick and meaty! We were ready to order and dig in but then we were told they were out of brisket and that the ribs were gonna take another hour to an hour and a half to fully cook they had sold out twice already! Mr. Bobby likes the meat to be ready to fall off the bone before offering it his customers. We tried to get him to pull the ribs early since they were cooked and we informed him that we were had been driving for over eight hours and were just passing through. We still had another 4 hours to drive at that point. He apologized, but insisted that the ribs wouldn't be ready for another hour and a half because they had to soak. We had a decision to make: did we simply move on and head home or wait an hour and a half for what we were hoping would be a delicious and rewarding experience? We decided to wait even if it meant that we were gonna be getting into New Orleans at night. We gambled, and decided to stay. Boy, am I GLAD we made that decision! During our hour and a half wait we met the owners of the establishment Mr. Bobby and his wife Mikki...(sorry Miss Mikki if I'm spelling your name wrong)! We also met many of the other staff members, as well as their grandson who was a kick! They were all the nicest people, and Mr. Bobby explained his process or (at least some of it), about what makes his food so great! it was a fascinating conversation! To put delight, they had smoked wings available, so we ordered a tray of six and shortly afterwards another tray of 10! They were so very good and moist! Meat falling off the bone indeed! For the record, I don't really like chickens drumettes. They tend to be a little dry for me. Can I tell you that I devoured seven of them and didn't look back? Even though we had to wait time passed rather quickly because the whole group were entertaining and fun to talk to! After eating the chicken wings, we were fillec with even more anticipation for the ribs. Mr. Bobby was completely out of brisket, but believe me, we will get it the next time we go! He also offers three barbecue sauces, all of which were very good, including the mustard one which I generally don't like. You could easily tell they were homemade, though he told us about some gentleman on Google review named Tim that tried to insinuate that the sauces were out of a bottle. I don't know where Tim is from but he has no clue what a homemade barbecue sauce taste like, apparently. Tim, you SERIOUSLY MISSED THE BOAT, BUDDY! if, for some all godly reason, you didn't like his food that's you're right, but to insinuate that the man didn't make his own sauce is just downright disrespectful! (and it shows a serious like a knowledge on your part). Anyway, the ribs delivered! They were moist and meaty, and the flavor was fantastic! They were full of smoke, and yet there was a sweetness about them at the same time. I don't know how to describe it; I just know I ate it all! Because we're were waiting for so long Mr. Bobby sent us home with some free drinks and some more of those dang wings! I think the only way they made it home was because we were both so stuffed from our meals. My grown children DEVOURED them once we got home! It's a four hour drive from Granada to New Orleans, but we are already planning to come back with our kids and some of their friends. This is one of a few places that I would make that 4 hour drive for. If you live in Granada, don't sleep on them! Thank God I don't, I'd be broke every month! Looking forward to seeing them again soon! Thanks, Mr. Bobby and Miss Mikki for the wonderful food and a wonderful hospitality! Our next project takes us in the other direction, but when we're on the way home, we're going to tell everybody to meet us at your spot! Oh! I almost forgot! He makes homemade cakes too! We had the red velvet! It didn't last too long...
