Each item is marked with their seller's booth number, the size, and the price. While some people may not like this approach to consignment shopping, I thought it was kind of nice to find booths that had roughly the same size and a similar taste in fashion rather than shuffling through a rack of one hundred pairs of pants. I will say that there was quite a range of prices with many pieces listed for $5 or $10 but also some items listed for $40+. I did expect to find more higher end brands but was overall satisfied with the condition of the clothes. The store was clean, well lit and organized during my visit. They have three dressing rooms with large mirrors so you can make sure items fit before purchasing as all sales are final. They could however do a better job posting more information on how the store operates. When I checked out I mentioned to the woman behind the counter that it was my first time visiting and she shared that items sometimes go on sale later in the week when sellers are getting close to the time that they must rotate their inventory around the weekend. I've been wanting to get back into walking for exercise and knew I needed something FAR more supportive than my adored Skechers Step-Ins. After some consultation with ChatGPT about what my current physical issues are and a brick and mortar store I could shop at, I was given a list of specific brands and styles: Brooks Ariel GTS, Hoka Gaviota, and ASICS Gel-Kayano. The icing on the cake was being referred to Wild Pear Running, where each of the models were in stock. Almost from the second I stepped in the door, I felt like family. I was greeted by Renee and after a quick size check, she brought out an enormous stack of boxes of shoes to test-drive. She checked the fit, how my toe felt in the toe box, and had me walk around a bit to see how they moved. After a brief size correction, we had it narrowed down to two models. One was a Brooks model, and the other was the Hoka Gaviota 6. I'd already decided that price would not be a factor, as I was more than willing to pay more for the best quality shoe I could get. At this point, her mini-me/daughter (please forgive me but I've forgotten her name) had joined us and we discussed adding Lock Laces so they would be easier to get on and off without having to lace up every time. She helped me pick out the best colour once I'd decided upon the Hoka model and put in the Lock Laces for me. I've done a fair amount of walking since last Saturday (including 45 minutes of physical therapy during my usual weekly visit). I can't even describe how amazing these shoes feel and how much my feet and ankles DON'T hurt after walking around for a while. Before physical therapy, I couldn't be on my feet for more than about 15 minutes without my lower back, ankles, and feet starting to hurt. Not anymore. I never thought I'd be able to say that a shoe was a life-changer but that's really what this whole experience has been. I highly recommend Wild Pear Running, no matter WHAT your goal is. They have been servicing the Clear lake area for about 15 years! So back to the shoe experience. I was able to tell Sheryl my needs , what my problem with my current shoes (average lower tier brand running shoes) and how I keep having or needing sports message or chiropractic adjustment on my lower back. She asked me to take off my shoes , measured my foot (width , height and arch support needed) , asked me to walk up and down the store and she immediately knew what kind of shoe would be best for me. It was so refreshing to know that she knew what I needed out of a shoe! She looked at my old running shoes to verify my step. She went to the back of the store and came back about 5 min later with 3 choices of shoes. She had me try on the first , walk in it and then try the next pair. One by one I would talk about how they felt and in moments she gave me her recommendation. I was really impressed with the owner and the store. You can tell the running gurus come here for a reason. They seemed to have several folks in the store helping people and I paid about $125 for the running shoes. They do have a rewards program so if you buy seven pairs of shoes the 7th one is free. After using the Brooks shoes on my first run it felt immediately different. No longer were my feet killing me getting off the treadmill or my feet and legs feeling just used up and sore the next day. My knees didn't hurt and my lower back felt fine. The cushioning and support on the shoe was what I needed. I can't say enough how happy I am with them. Thank you On the Run!!! I ended up losing a bunch of weight and they were patient with me as I tried on pants later last year. I do suggest if your starting your nursing school program at a peak time like I did (I started in January 2025), get your scrubs ordered as soon as you have your nursing school orientation and you confirmed what your school wants which is very important if your required to get your scrubs embroidered. It took me a few weeks to get my stuff in but that was because everyone in my program and everyone at surrounding nursing schools were also getting their uniform ordered. There was a small mishap where the wrong jacket was ordered but they made things right and ordered me another jacket that fit me like a glove at no extra charge which is wonderful customer service. I plan to return to them once I start working in nursing for my uniform needs. Chose small business over scrubs and beyond.
