I just moved to Redding and I was looking for a hairstylist that would cut my hair once a month . I came across Spice Hair salon where they advertised Alyssa who was the stylist who had the experience in short hair cuts. Everything went well and we booked another appointment for next month. I was pleased now that I found a hairstylist I could count on getting my hair trimmed each month. This the reason why I am giving one star is what I thought was unprofessional was she called me back a week later stating that she wasn't excepting any new clients but could refer me to another hair stylist. My question is why did she accept my 1st hair appointment and secondly why did she schedule for next month. I am 71 years old and never had a hairstylist treat me that way. read more

Unfortunately I received very poor customer service and the lowest quality work I've ever received. The hair dresser did not hear me out when I described what I wanted and was unhelpful when I asked if we could change a few things. The place itself was cute inside. But the unprofessionalism may lead me to go elsewhere unfortunately. Would have loveddd for this to be my regular salon. read more

After taking the time to text photos of my hair and going to the salon on my lunch break and showing her my hair and everything was fine. I had the appt for 10:30 this morning. She calls at 10:10am and advises that she is not 'comfortable' with doing my hair the color I requested. She advised that, "my hair would be unprofessional at my job at the State Disability" WTF does she care about how MY hair would look for my job and WHY the HELL would she think I worked at State Disability? VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND POSSIBLY RACIST. It is a person in the service industries job to do the job requested of them, not to offer career advise. Do the job you are being paid to do. By far the best shop in town. Very clean & classy salon. All of the girls are very friendly and very good at what they do! They are up to date on all the latest styles. They also have a Barber to pamper the men.
