I ordered delivery from Spice & Pepper through Foodler.com. The food arrived at my Natick office a 1/2 hour earlier than scheduled. (Nice surprise!) There's a $15 delivery minimum, so I ordered crab rangoon, shrimp pad thai, and a green salad. I've saved the green salad for a snack for later but the crab rangoon & pad thai were delicious! I only wish that I was able to order a beverage with my meal. (If I'm ordering delivery at work - it's because I can't leave the office.) So this was a very disappointing order. I have eaten Thai food all over the country and was really craving it tonight. I ordered using Yelp Delivery and it arrived on time even though it's a snowy night. When I opened the bag there was no napkins or forks.... how do you eat take out food in a hotel room without a fork. We came here because reviews were good. But we should've known it wasn't going to be authentic Thai food. I'm sure because of the location , they cater more towards People whom aren't Asian. We ordered the sampler, it was mediocre for $14. Hot & sour soup was the weirdest thing we've ever tasted for "hot & sour" soup. We also ordered shrimp wraps, which was actually decent. The restaurant looks like a diner but it's built inside a house. Bathroom was really tiny, and in the corner of the bathroom were two big spiders. I ordered the Pad Thai with shrimp. Noodles were over cooked and they put too much lime. Overall, waste of money. My brother ordered the Fried Chicken Pad Thai, same. Noodles were over cooked and soggy. And it just tasted like lime. Maybe because we're actually Asian and know what authentic Thai food tastes like, and that's why we didn't like this place. I don't write many restaurant reviews, but after three awesome meals at Spice & Pepper, I felt like I had to take the time to write one. Like others have said, don't let the unassuming storefront and lack of fancy trimmings inside deter you. Make no mistake, this is a casual experience, great for a weeknight when you just don't feel like cooking or bringing in yet another roasted supermarket chicken. But also nice enough to hit with friends before heading into Boston for a Red Sox game. This place is about great food and friendly service. But especially the food. Every dish we've ordered, whether appetizer, soup, or main course, has been excellent. I highly-recommend the Fresh Garden Roll appetizer, which comes with a house sauce as well as a nice peanut sauce, the Spicy Hot & Sour soup which comes chock full of white meat chicken and is almost a meal unto itself, and the Seafood Volcano, which features plenty of shrimp, scallops and squid along with a medley of fresh vegetables. There's nothing really fancy about Spice & Pepper, but the portions are perfect, the ingredients are fresh and never skimpy and the food comes to your table nice and hot. Best of all is that they don't confuse the terms "spicy" and "hot." Unlike some Szechuan cooking I've had locally, there's nothing on the menu (even the 3-pepper-rated Seafood Volcano) that would have me dialing 9-1-1 to bring out the fire trucks. Their spices and light sauces are never overbearing. Rather, they add fragrance and flavor (and yes, some heat but not unbearable) to those fresh ingredients, to the point where I find myself continuously saying "oh, that's so good!" Not many restaurants -- of any kind -- invoke such a reaction from me from the beginning to the end of a meal. The service and staff are friendly. Casual, but prompt and professional. Make no mistake, this is a casual place. Prices are reasonable. I ate there last night with my wife and daughter. One appetizer, three main dishes, iced and hot tea, and the tab was $58 before tip. Not too shabby for a really good meal. OK, they don't serve alchohol, but for me (especially on a weeknight), that's not necessarily a bad thing. Hope you enjoy it as much as we have! read more

Until tonight I thought "there is no such thing as bad Thai food." When I arrived to pick up a takeout order, I noticed the restaurant smelled strongly of burnt oil. Unpacking at home, I realized the food - every item - smelled strongly the same way. When my daughter appeared in the kitchen for dinner she grimaced and asked if I'd passed gas. The food tasted terrible - all of it had the same funky flavor and terrible aftertaste. Since I generally believe the most obvious explanation is usually the right one, I assume they had a kitchen mishap and either burned some oil or used a batch of fouled oil. Either way, everything - literally - was terrible. We barely ate any of it. All went in the trash. An hour later and I still cannot get the aftertaste out of my mouth. Either they made a mistake in the kitchen and somehow didn't notice, which is hard for me to believe, given the smell when I arrived, or they noticed but sold me the nasty food anyhow. Crispy and wonderful Chu Chee Duck Can this be my favorite too Steamed ravioli. I have never had better outside Berkeley California. Beef or chicken satay, perfect marinade, perfect sauce. Butterfly, I don't know what these are but they are yummy in the restaurant but to go they don't travel well. Pad Thai, crispy chicken on top is just supreme overkill but you cannot stop eating. Pad Thai, the perfect gooey texture. Glass noodles: supreme gooyiness. Some type of Chow fun I forget what the name was, mega good. Please Sudbury, if you know what is good for you. The old Benson's coffee shop which became a great hamburger place but this place needs to stay here so order like crazy. The kitchen and woks are right in the store behind the counter. In my opinion, the best Thai food in Boston and I've eaten at many Thai restaurants all over the state. Cozy setting with an open kitchen that has bar stools so you can watch as your food gets cooked right in front of you. Diverse menu selection, where you'll find dishes here that you won't find anywhere else. Try the scallion pancakes with coconut curry dipping sauce for an appetizer, then mango fried rice, and the sizzling jumbo shrimp for entrees. My husband and I were craving Chinese and after looking at the lack of good options in the area, we decided to try Thai from Spice & Pepper. We ordered online from their website and decided on the Grilled Jumbo Shrimp in Prik-King Sauce and Savory Noodles - both "hot & spicy" heat level. Both meals were DELICIOUS and very flavorful. The portions were also great. My savory noodles were large enough for me to enjoy for 2 (very generous) meals. My only negative is that when you order from their website there isn't any estimate on how long it will take to be delivered. They send you an email after you order and it states the time of delivery. With that said, our order arrived 5 min early and we will absolutely order from here again. Also, I did just notice on the yelp page that it states an estimated delivery time and the delivery fee is only $3 compared to the $5 on their website, so maybe next time we will try that option instead. I was seriously underwhelmed with their pad thai during my first lunch order, bland with either chicken or shrimp, no lime on the side and no bean sprouts. It was sad. It wasn't bad but for the $8.50 I spent for it I had high hopes. My coworker, on the other hand, got the beef macadamia and loved it. So this go 'round I ordered the beef macadamia. It's good but not great. I found it to be a little too salty. the beef was well done and tender, veggies fresh and sauteed just right. The interior of the place is SPOTLESSLY clean and the staff is enthusiastically friendly. The tables and chairs are cute but cramped and it's not really the kind of place you'd want to sit down and eat anyway as there is too much take out traffic. The hubby and I have been to Spice and Pepper twice now, and both times have been fantastic. The restaurant space is very small, with an open kitchen so you can watch the chef preparing your yummy Thai food. Good service, but they should have real menus printed up instead of giving you the takeout menu to order from. The food prices are reasonable enough, and typical for this area. We tried the summer rolls, our favorite Thai app, and they were delish with 2 different dipping sauces. I had the glass noodle pad thai, which was delicious. I have had both glass noodle and regular pad thai now, and both dishes have been very lime-y and flavorful. I would really go for the glass noodle though, as glass noodles are just about the best-textured noodle ever. Overall, this is a great new 4 1/2 star Thai option. Great for takeout, and to eat in. This place has been losing business for years...well before the pandemic hit, their sit down business had vaporized. Why? Because the seating area is a dump. Torn seats, dirty tables, floors covered with dirt. So they stayed alive with their take-out business. But now this is a disaster too. This is what just happened: I ordered takeout abs was told that now they will charge extra for white rice due to Corona, which made no sense. My translation-they're price gouging. Then I was told 20 minutes to pick up. When I got there after 20 minutes, they hadn't even started my order! Meanwhile, every one of their cooks was not wearing a mask! And no gloves! Talk about a health hazard. 40+ minutes after placing my order, they handed me my food, so they forced me to waste 20 minutes waiting around for nothing. Way to go Spice and Pepper. You guys may survive until the pandemic ends because there are few take out options near Wayland, but after the pandemic dies off, the same will happen to you: you'll be dead. read more

Whenever I visit home I always have to get takeout from them. Although I don't mind eating at the location I like to enjoy Thai in the comfort of my own home. Their Glass Noodle Pad Thai is my go too. A lighter take on regular pad thai that doesn't make you feel so heavy after eating it. The service is atrocious. We put in an order at 5:45. They told us it would take over hour. At 7:25, we called to check on order They told us it was out for delivery. We called again at 7:50 (over 2 hours later) and the woman on the phone was laughing saying that she did not know when the food would arrive, but it was out for delivery. Then, we called again at 8:10 and they said they realized the food was still there. We had to cancel the order on Mother's Day! We will not be ordering again. I was optimistic after reading the great reviews here, but as much as I wanted to love this place it fell short of my expectations. This place is tiny, if you blink you'll miss it. In fact, we did miss it and had to turn around to go back. We saw the "parking in rear" sign, but ended up in the Verizon parking lot. The sign should have been before the turn to get into the lot, not after it. We ordered Pad Thai, hot and sour soup, Thai rolls, and a seafood dish. The Thai rolls were very good. The Pad Thai was bland and seemed slightly oily. My husband said the hot and sour soup was extremely heavy on lemon and overly sour as a result. The seafood dish he ordered was ok he said. The service is excellent. The people seem very nice and eager to please. I asked for an adjustment to my Pad Thai due to a food allergy and they happily accommodated my request. It's nothing fancy, but very clean and comfortable. Seemed to be kid friendly too. I think if you like your Thai Americanized this place is a good choice. If you're looking for a casual place to take the family, it's also a good choice. Perhaps their other dishes are better, but it just wasn't for us. read more
