Thai food is always a go to / regular for me and I needed some dinner. Last time I was in the area I tried a different place and I wanted to try somewhere else. I found Coconut Rice via DoorDash and Yelp along with some others and ultimately chose Coconut Rice. It was a great choice and I was happy with the outcome! We ordered delivery via DoorDash and got an order of Pad Thai with Chicken, Red Curry Chicken, and two Thai Iced Teas. The restaurant received the order and confirmed it very quickly. Our driver picked up the food and brought it over on time - and it was still warm enough and ready to eat right away. The portions were huge - I love when I can make more than one meal out of an order! And, the flavors and ingredients were great! I do feel like there were some slight differences from other places in style, ingredients, flavor, etc. but not in a bad way! For the curry you can select your spice level which is nice; keep in mind it's labeled as somewhat spicy (mild), very spicy (medium), and extremely spicy (hot) - so if you're not a huge spice person, that could look intimidating. We went with the mild, or somewhat spicy just in case and it was not too spicy so the "very" spicy or medium probably would have been okay. I don't know if I'd say I was disappointed by the Thai iced teas as I think that is too harsh since they were still delicious, but I could tell they were made differently than what I was used to. I had a feeling though as they have an option for sweetened or unsweetened when ordering which isn't usually a thing. All in all, the food, drinks, and experience was positive and I will definitely keep this place on call for Thai when in the area! read more

First time trying Coconut Rice, we had takeout at my nieces house. My niece and her husband got the sampler, they very much enjoyed it. They especially loved the egg rolls and Crab Rangoon . My sister had the Spicy Pad Thai, She loved it, was impressed by the portion size and that the spice level was what she wanted! I had the Khao Soi, I've never seen this on a Thai menu in CT, so I was intrigued. It was delicious. I will be getting this again. The service was great, very friendly and nice place. I tried the drunken noodle and pad Thai, and both were absolutely on point. The drunken noodle had that perfect balance of heat, garlic, and basil, savory, and full of flavor without being overwhelming. The noodles were cooked perfectly and soaked up the sauce beautifully. The pad Thai was just as good, not overly sweet, great texture, and super fresh. You can tell the ingredients are quality and everything is made with care. I want to preface this review with this--I don't like Thai food. I think I had a bad experience with a couple Thai restaurants in high school and have rarely tried another one since. We decided to take a chance on this place and had a good meal here. It is a little pricey but the portions are also huge. The pad Thai was okay but too sweet, but I think I've come to accept that I just don't really like pad Thai in general. I got the duck soup and it was pretty good. Also a little on the sweeter side but I liked it and the duck was juicy and tender. It is clear the food here is made with care and fresh ingredients. Food is good but the service provided by the lady could use some attentiveness and friendlier approach!

So disappointing. I ordered delivery and while the food arrived hot thanks to the Uber driver, the utensils I requested were not packed in the bag. After asking the hotel for cutlery, the food had grown lukewarm. The pad tai chicken was dry and vinegar sweet heavy. Missed the mark by far! The dumplings were barely edible due to the grease level. So after one dumpling I passed on the rest. All in all I could have picked from several different tai restaurant while visiting the Marlborough area - and I wish I had. read more

This is the new location in downtown Hudson, MA - previously an ice cream shop. Friendly staff, reasonable prices and very fast service are highlights of this place so far. They are newly opened and they are making a great first impression!! I ordered the fiery pad Thai w/ chicken and scallops (lunch portion). The food came out hot and fresh, and packed a lot of flavor. It was just the right amount for me and I was absolutely satisfied. I will totally be coming back for more. This place is definitely the best Thai place in the area. And by area, I mean Hudson, Marlborough, Northborough and Westborough. My personal litmus test for a Thai place is Khao Soi. And this place passes the Khao Soi test by a mile! My recommendations would be Pad Kee Mao, Basil fried rice, Pineapple fried rice, Crab rangoon and any of their curries. You couldn't go wrong. They do have a very limited dine in space. Recommend getting a take out. read more

WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD FRIENDS! They took the place and cleaned it up as it needed to. And its wonderful to see this location back in business with something old, something new, something not borrowed nor blue. Fantastic take-out window through the ole icecream shop where so many times I stuffed my face on the best fried clams in the region... So in order to make up for the dire loss, they come with a fresh take on food. Place is sinfully clean, bright and welcoming. Service is so HUDSON loves you it feels like disney without all the baloney and politics. The food is great. Prices are reasonable. The steamed pork dumplings were great, dainty but a tad TAD undersalted/flavored. I'd still eat them by the dozen, however. We also ordered duck pad thai which the pad thai itself was fantastically balanced. (Some places make it sticky icky sweet because they go heavy handed on the palm sugar). The duck was a generous portion but was unfortunately a little over done, but the skin was chicharron crisp! MMMM. We also tried the fluffy, flavorful and colorful Thai fried rice with shrimp. They don't skimp on proteins and I hope that never changes. I'm looking forward to bringing home some curries and coconut rice! Definitely will be a winter doordash favorite in this house! Welcome! So Coconut Rice Thai in Hudson was pretty amazing tonight. It was our first visit. I honestly had no idea it was there. It's located near downtown minus the traffic. We had the Crab Rangoons, Fiery Pad Thai and the Coconut Rice Hudson special. ALL 10/10. The service was excellent as well! The indoor seating was great. It was super toasty on a chilly day. Disappointing! Ordered the Lemongrass Chicken as my entree tonight - it was like SHOE LEATHER, FRIED CHICKEN SKIN GARBAGE. We sampled several pieces and threw it away. The food here is amazing! Some of the best Thai I have ever had. Servings sizes are plentiful and everything on the menu is excellent. They can do Gluten Free. Service is fast and efficient. It was good at first, but after going here for a few tries, they seem to be cutting corners already. Staff is friendly. No doubt about it, but the last time we ordered pad Thai it seemed pre made and reheated and the appetizers are kind of weak for the price point. I live about an hour from Hudson so I'm not typically in this area but I was last night and I'm so glad that we stumbled upon this little gem. It doesn't have a lot of curb appeal (still looks like an ice cream stand) but don't let that put you off. They do mostly take out but inside there are several cozy tables and they also have some outdoor seating. The service was great and the food was delicious. I just tried this place for the first time and was pleasantly surprised! I didn't quite know what to expect when I walked up to the building, and received my take out via an outdoor ice cream window (the building used to be an ice cream stand). I ordered the Drunken Noodle with chicken, and was not disappointed!! The food was very tasty, and unlike many other Thai places, the chicken didn't taste overcooked and dried out, as if it was pulled from a bin of pre-cooked chicken. We moved to Hudson two years ago and had yet to find a Thai restaurant here that we liked - until today. I ordered the veggies and tofu with peanut sauce, and they were able to accommodate my mushroom allergy with the veggie mix; my partner had basil chicken. Both of our dishes were flavorful with just the right amount of heat, and the portions are very generous. It seems like more of a takeout place than a sit-down restaurant at this point - there is a dining area, but it's small. But this area desperately needs good takeout and I am so very happy that Coconut Rice is here! We will definitely be back. read more

Super fresh homemade food. The Khao Soi was legit amazing and the coconut shrimp and scallion pancakes were legit the best I've had. One thing I will say is that the Pad Thai was unfortunately not my fave, dry and missing any peanut taste. We did order takeout right before they closed so maybe that was the reason.
