Came for lunch on a Wednesday. Noodles was a big wet and saucy. Very little beef was in this dish however they have a lot of good veggies. Overall noodle dish was just ok. Thai tea was water down!!! Boba texture was overcooked! Drink wasn't worth the price and quality was bad. read more

Great Thai food and service!! We ordered takeout and one of our dishes was unfortunately missing peanut sauce. After we called them, they not only gave us peanut sauce and readily added dishes to our order that we needed, but they also threw in a few spring rolls! As for the food, the yellow and mango curries are always a big hit in our family (5/5). The spicy basil fried rice (5/5) is also a crowd favorite and packs some heat! The panang curry was also quite flavorful (4/5). The zen garden once we got the peanut sauce was AMAZING and so addicting (5/5!!!); cannot wait to order that again! The food was fine but when it came time to pay, they automatically charged a 20% gratuity without telling us and also asked for an additional tip even though it was only a party of four people. When we noticed and spoke up about this, they said this was a new system and couldn't be changed. They also were very rude and argued asking if we weren't going to tip then. We said we obviously were but were blindsided by it already being added to our receipt without any notice, especially as this is only common when there are large parties of 6 or more. Second time visiting this restaurant, the waiter's attitude was very uncomfortable. Ordered roast duck, but it was mostly onion and lettuce, and pineapple chicken was mostly onion and pineapple. Both adults and children felt very uncomfortable after eating. In addition, the mandatory 20% tip was very unreasonable. I didn't read the receipt clearly when paying, and then handed the receipt to the POS machine. There was an option to choose a tip on the POS machine. Since I was not familiar with it, I was forced to tip, which was very misleading. Maybe they thought we were tourists and didn't intend to do real business. food here is very good, what i am all about is first impressions - owners need to maintain rear entrance of restaurant- very dirty, poorly maintained - even kitchen supplies are stored there in hall where any person walking in from the street can see and if curious can open up and poke around. The whole rear entrance area is in need of a DEEP CLEAN AND PAINT JOB - floors are all beat up too - look terrible. Also, outodoor patio granite needs to be POWERWASHED it's dark black and dirty from years of neglect. Lastly not sure what this bamboo stick thing leaning in a planter onto the sidewalk is in front of restaurant. Looks like a good idea for an art installation but very poorly executed. My friend and I had dinner here last night. It was a busy Saturday evening and there were only 2 waitstaff. In spite of this we were served in a pleasant manner and in a reasonable time. I ordered for two people which consisted of Udon noodles with chicken and shrimp extra spicy, yellow curry with chicken and white rice, Tom Yum soup with chicken, and Thai rolls. I'll start with what was good which is the yellow curry over white rice. Very nice flavor with pineapple chunks, crispy veggies and potato. The dish was flavorful and nice sized portion. The Udon noodles would have been better if prepared like I ordered it which was extra spicy. The Thai rolls were bland and mostly crust. The soup had one piece of chicken which was quite tough. There are many good Thai restaurants around, Pan Thai is mediocre at best. read more

Ate here for the first time with my wife tonight The ambiance isn't fancy, and has a bar feel to it. The waitresses wear jeans and dont wear a nice uniform. Jazz in the background. No real Thai feel in this place. However the service was good and quick. I ordered the Ginger Thai and my wife the Thai Basil. Our dishes were abundant and well prepared. Prices were high. Wow. How have I not been here before tonight? Just finished a bomb meal here at Pan Thai. And as a Thai guy, have to share with whoever is reading this that Pan Thai is the best Thai I've had in a long time. Everything is cooked perfectly. Vegetables are fresh and just the amount of tender. Dumplings in the soup are tasty and melt in your mouth. The Drunken Chicken entree felt filling (even taking some home for tomorrow's lunch between Zoom calls!) yet also light and healthy. And it had none of that Thai restaurant saltiness that can often mask the natural flavors of a good meal. As a matter of fact it seemed like you could taste every spice perfectly in every bite. There wasn't one thing that we thought was tasty from very soggy crab rangoons, not very tasty other appetizers, too much onion in the Tom Yum Soup and things in it that were too difficult to swallow, very hard and small things you had to take out of your mouth first and put it on your plate and then drink the soup some more; the main dish was completely bland as well, some kind of chicken dish. Let's start by saying it's local so that's good. The food is .... we've never gotten sick...? Look, all the apps seem to come out of a frozen bag, the fresh spring rolls are mediocre at best, the peanut sauce is low-flavor, the "Thai" sauce for the spring rolls is decent enough. The pad Thai has always been edible but only a few peanuts, little protein, and not very flavorful either. The Curry's actually aren't that bad, so there is something. All surrounding towns have much better Thai, but then again it's 4 minutes from my house... We mostly go elsewhere for Thai, and do so more often than not. A kicker that made me leave this review is that they charge $1.5 extra for white rice when you order a curry! Seriously? If they need the margin, raise the price, but charging for rice with a curry dish is absurd, and it speaks to their integrity (all about profits which I applaud in many ways, but with poor quality food and insulting clients with a ridiculous up charge it's really annoyingly) Anyway, it's local and I'd like to see them survive,, but if anyone there reads reviews, focus on making the best food you can rather than the cheapest way to schlep grub. Hopkinton needs better Restaurants, and I hope they change their ways. read more

The atmosphere and service are fine. The Tom Kha Gai soup was very weak and watery compared to others I've had. I would buy a quart of a good coconut soup, but this is not it. The pork fried rice tasted okay, but the pork was pulled (not char siu) and came in 3-4" chunks, which had to be chopped into bite-size before eaten, a major fail. I called in a To go order. The gentleman who answered the phone leaves a lot to be desired. Okay, because it was a phone call. When I walked in the restaurant, He didn't even acknowledge me. There was 2 people at the bar and 2 people at a table. He needs to look up the definition of Hospitality. I ordered Basil fried rice with tofu. It was delicious! Far better than I expected! Downtown Hopkinton is a little sparse when it comes to dining options. However, Pan Thai is a really nice place with good food and great service. If it is a warm afternoon or night, sitting on the front porch overlooking downtown to enjoy your cocktail or meal is a cool experience. Inside is small but they don't overload it with tables so it is open and quaint and the wrap-around bar is a fun place to watch a game on the TV. The food is fairly standard Thai but the flavors are perfect albeit not that spicy. I'm a huge Tom Yum and Coconut soup fan and Pan Thai nails them. Both are loaded with veggies which is a big improvement over many other places. In fact, all of their dishes have a bunch of fresh and robust vegetables. I believe I've tried every Thai place in a 20 mile radius and this is my favorite. read more

My boyfriend and I went here for Valentine's day so I write this review assuming that this place was busier than usual. The restaurant had plenty of street/lot parking around it and was a good mix between casual but still romantic and intimate. It had a full service bar with beers on tap as well as cocktails. The hostess/waitress was super nice and made everyone feel like they were her house guest. We ordered the appetizer combo and tom yum soup to begin. The combo gives you two each of various appetizers so it's great for dates and sharing! Tom yum soup was pretty good! The broth had good flavor and it had a lot of different vegetables in it. For our main course, I ordered the chicken penang curry and my boyfriend had the drunken noodles. This is where (in my head) the hecticness of the restaurant started becoming more apparent. After our appetizers, our entrees took about 30 minutes to come out. To be fair though, there were a couple of big parties that were there first, so we were understanding. When our food came out, my boyfriend's drunken noodle was piping hot and absolutely delicious. The flavors were super rich and everything was cooked amazingly. My curry... was a bit of a disappointment. Instead of a bowl of curry and vegetables and chicken as I had expected, it was a plate with curry at the base of the plate, chicken placed on top filling half of the plate, and seemingly raw vegetables filling the other half. The raw vegetables is what threw me off the most. I don't know if they were just undercooked because the kitchen was swamped or it was meant to be more of a salad. The highlight was that the curry was delicious. So as a whole given the circumstances of it being Valentine's day, four stars. I'd come back here again on a less busy night but probably get the noodles (or just tell them to cook my vegetables for longer lol). read more

Waited 30 mins and then found out that she noted down only tea as our order. second time we ordered vegetable and tofu option for noodle and Thai curry. They got us only vegetable dishes and said tofu wasn't told. We had to pay for tofu separately even thought the veg option clearly mentions tofu in it. We have been ordering take-out from Pan Thai for 8 years. When I called them to let them know that my husband had terrible food poisoning from our order (and I had a lesser case but was also sick), the manager, Jackie was unempathetic, defensive, and argumentative. As someone who has worked in the restaurant industry and has seen how understanding and accommodating managers can be with customers it is clear that Jackie never received any formal education/training on managerial and customer service skills. We also asked to speak to the owner twice, who refused to speak to us. When we said we wanted to be reimbursed for our meal, Jackie was noncommittal in her response. It wasn't until my husband went to the restaurant in person (when he was still very sick) and began to raise his voice (with other customers around) that Jackie finally conceded but then told my husband that we were not allowed back to their restaurant again (which is comical because we already had no interest in returning)! The lack of customer service and human decency at Pan Thai is appalling!!! read more
