I went to their physical location yesterday for the first time. The place is adorable. The service area is painted like a food truck, it even has a canopy over it like a real food truck. There is an area to wait for your food with a few tablesand chairs. We did have to wait a little while but the food was so worth it. I got the loaded mac & cheese with mild spice. The flavors were excellent. There was a little crunch in the coating on the chicken, a really creamy texture to the mac & cheese, and just the right amount of spice for my taste. There was so much food in one order of mac & cheese that it's going to last probably three meals! The only reason I am giving four stars instead of five is that the chairs and table were horribly uncomfortable, even just to sit and wait for the food to be prepared. I see them regularly at events and decided to try them finally. I should have read the reviews beforehand. The amount of Mac and cheese you get for the price is decent however the Mac and cheese tasted watery. There is literally no flavor in the Mac and cheese the chilly they sprinkle on top was good but once you get past the first layer it was very disappointing. I would have preferred box Mac and cheese at the end of the day. With so many good cheese sauce recipes out there I hope they take the hint from all of the reviews and try another recipe. read more

I've always seen the Spicy Birdz food trucks at many events and finally chose to try them. The customer service is great, but hard to hear them if you're short like I am because all you'll end up hearing is the motor/engine running. I ordered the #3 loaded Mac and cheese with just the spicy level, because I wasn't looking for anything too spicy. Well, when I took my first bite, it had so much of their spicy powder/seasoning that it made me choke. There was SO MUCH of that powder/seasoning that it was nearly unbearable and made me choke. It was also more spicy than just "spicy." Despite having an overbearing amount of powder/seasoning, the Mac and cheese was underseasoned. Overall, I didn't like my Mac and cheese bowl, which I feel is also overpriced. I'm willing to try them again though, because the rest of the menu looks so good. read more

Do not eat here! I ordered the mac and cheese bowl. There was not much flavor. The chicken seemed fake but the way it was pulling apart. It wasn't the tender juicy kind of chicken, it sounded the rubber being pulled. I also found a raw piece of chicken in my bowl which made me lose my appetite. I never usually come here. But the one time this happens to me. There are definitely WAY better places than this place. I would recommend going to Al's Hot Chicken. Went to their restaurant on Herndon and West. Pretty small on the inside, but made to look like the food trucks. I guess its Spicy Birdz and a Boba shop. The girl working told me it used to be Philly Cheesesteak there too, but not any more. I've been to the truck when they're out with Fresno Street Eats, but saw the restaurant while in the shopping center. Ordered the quesadilla with medium spice. It was good and suppppeerrr cheesy! Probably one of the most disappointing meals I've had in a while. Okay, I hate leaving bad reviews. It takes real guts to be a business owner and take that risk. So I have a great deal of respect for them. It pains me to write this, but this place has some serious problems. Let's talk food. I had the single bird which came with fries and a dipping sauce. The single bird is a chicken sandwich with spread, a pickle, and slaw. The chicken was over cooked, dry, and the batter was so thick that it came off the chicken. I chose the medium heat flavor and the heat was good. However, the chicken didn't have much flavor. The only spice I could taste was cyan pepper. The bun was the same bun I used to get in my free school lunches. Also the same time of bun that McDonalds classic burger. It was bland and not even toasted. The sauce was a spicy Mayo, which was pretty good. The slaw was disappointing. Not only did it not have a bright and light flavor that I expect from a slaw, but I probably only got about 2-3 TBs. Much less than the picture on the truck lead me to believe. Lastly, the fries were pretty good. They were cooked well and had a nice seasoning. So I paid about $15 for my meal. Unfortunately, it was really more of a $6-7 meal. There are so many other incredible restaurants that serve outstanding chicken sandwiches. For the price, I was really expecting them to be on par with some of those. It pains me to say, but you can get a much better, tastier, chicken sandwich at Jack In the Box for about $5 less. read more

I cannot speak to the service because I always order it, but I always get everything I ordered and the food is still hot when I receive it! Which is huge! I do look forward to going in store soon! Tried them for the first time at the Luke Bryan concert food wasn't bad, my issue was the cashier. Before ordering our food a lady in front mentioned to watch your change she was shorted.. Thinking it was possibly just a mistake after we ordered our total was $42.32 we paid with $100, I had done the math with my calculator and realized we were shorted $10. We told the gentlemen and he looked confused and I showed him my calculator. He apologized and corrected the amount. After we went back to thank the lady and mentioned our experience her friend said she was before her and she was almost shorted $20!!! Mind you the event had just allowed guest in and lines were short.... Three people in a row is too much of a coincidence for it to be a mistake!!! Wouldn't go back for this reason! Tried Spicy Birds (the food truck) at Hobb's Grove and was hugely disappointed. As I was ordering my burrito, I began asking for the things I wanted inside my burrito and the guy taking my ordered laughed at me saying," Hold up, this no MEXICAN restaurant!" However, the menu shows burritos and quesadillas. (Like what???!) He didn't take the time to explain to me what type of food they served or their specialty . I decided to order a quesadilla instead. Just had the loaded birdz fries and they were...okay. I ordered the "spicy birdz hot" and was hilariously questioned about this choice. I get it, I'm so pale I could be mistaken for a ghost and that often equates to a low spice tolerance, I'm not new to this reaction. Once I assured the lady taking my order that I was positive in this choice she asked me if I'd ever had it before and I let her know I had not but this conversation wasn't going to sway me, her final attempt was to say "interesting". I was intrigued and excited now. The food came pretty quickly and I was offered sauce on the side which I'm glad I opted for. At first glance it was clearly well coated in the birdz powder. On to the components! The fries were delicious and very well seasoned. They stayed warm and unsoggy to the bottom. I'm not really a cole slaw person but this was a pleasant experience, slightly sweet and creamy. Not overly dressed and gives a nice reprieve from the spice. The pickles were good but not great. Your basic jar pickle chips. Yes, I'm a pickle snob and I won't apologize for it. The house sauce (on the side) was a very thick aoli type of sauce. I tried it but wasn't really a fan. The flavor was light but the consistency just didn't get me excited. The lady who served me seemed to imply it has the effect of cooling the spice when she said "you might need it"... but I didn't. Saved the curiosity that was the chicken for last. The chicken itself was tender and juicy but I felt like it was way over breaded. The real confusion was how little chicken there was. I was really disappointed with the amount of chicken that comes with this. This alone is what killed the meal for me. Besides this being a food truck that specializes in chicken but for $15 I'd like more than a few bites. Because of this I almost gave it 3 stars but it was a lot of food (that I couldn't finish) so I left it at 4. As for the spicy birdz spice level... it's comparable to a Thai #4, slap ya mama spicy, or a shin bowl black. It has a short lived burn that hit me mainly in the upper throat and tip of my tongue. Slight tingle and localized warmth with very little buildup. Definitely more burn than flavor so it's more for the experience than anything. As a fan of spicy chicken sandwiches i am not sure there are many restaurants that cater to just this food i have not tried. And i have to say this one has been the best so far. The size of the chicken tenders is a plus but the juiciness of the tender was spectacular. Perfect amount of slaw and pickles. And the tender did not want to slide out of the bun when taking a bite. Mac and cheese could use a pinch more salt but the fries were on point. Will def be back read more

I got the Birdz (I only wanted one but I didn't see that option). Each sandwich came with a large chicken breast, some coleslaw, a pickle, and was on a very generic white bun. They asked what I wanted as a spice level, (can choose from: original, mild, medium, hot, and spicy birdz hot) I got hot. I can definitely handle my spice, but good lord, it was so spicy I couldn't even taste the seasoning! If I give this place another shot, I'll be getting medium or mild. Tried the food truck tonight at the River Park Farmer's Market because our go to, TakoBBQ, wasn't there. We're always open to try new things, but weren't impressed (sadly). We had the number 1 (two burgers) and the burrito, but both lacked a flavor. Don't get me wrong, the chicken was incredibly tender and crispy, but the hot "spice" was hot and didn't leave much flavor for anything else. The coleslaw didn't have flavor and the fries were crispy, but nothing special. The same could be said of the burrito - delicious, tender and crispy chicken but nothing special. The sauce is mayo based for the fries sort of like a thousand island type dressing. it was good but the fries were find without it. The buns were buttered and had not too much slaw. The buns the chicken tender comes with is very soft, not to my liking for a sandwich. If it was soggy, the bread would not hold up at all. They skimped on the coeslaw and hardly and sauce or pickles. To most people, the spicy birds spice level will be a bit much. To me, you can taste the spice, but it wasn't spicy to the point where it stays in your mouth. Kind of disappointed when the ghost pepper samyang noodles is more spicier than this (I have a high spice tolerance, so the noodles didn't do much damage to me either, but at least it stays in the mouth for a bit). The spice level is a bit higher than the spicy chicken at pacific fried chicken. Or maybe it is the same. Both spice flavor are different. read more

This place is so not professional, the boss is always rude to customers and always has negative attitude. The Mac and cheese is always cold when I get it and the French fries are always soggy.
