Very good smash burgers, menu is fairly simple, portions are great, and honestly you can't go wrong with anything here. The staff were excellent, place was empty when we got there, a lot of take out orders, ambiance is casual, plenty of seating, plenty of options for beverages. Overall very good, I would have ordered mine without cheese had I known prior, my burger was too salty with the preparation of the meat, cheese, and their spread. Other than that, excellent, next time we will order only one order of fries as it was a lot of food for the money and we couldn't finish it (nice problem to have). The food here comes out fast. My burger was pretty darn good and so were the onion rings. Service was friendly and connected. Specifically, the burger was nice and juicy and was well dressed. I'm sure the additional grease helped with much of that.. and that's fine every now and then! I knew this would be a messy affair so sported my latex gloves as usual. What happened to this place!? We spent $41 dollars on delivery last night for two burgers and a side of fries and wow the quality has changed drastically! We were so hyped to come and try Hammys again after one of the greatest introductions to smash burgers i ever had! The burgers then were huge and the meat was flavorful and juicy! The fries then tasted handcut and the buns were buttery and delicious. The experience we had last night was nothing compared to the last time. I understand times change but damn! The meat was under seasoned and dry, the buns were dense and the fries tasted like old K-Mart fries. Ain't no way these didn't come out of a box. It was such a HUGE let down! Especially when you're paying $30 and not getting combos. I will always be thankful for the old memories and try to forget last night, but I don't feel like we're coming back anytime soon. It is on the southwest corner of Shaw and First but you cannot get to it via mall parking lot. On our first visit, the soda fountain didn't have ice which was kind of annoying in this heat. But an employee got us ice manually, much appreciated. They also don't have milkshakes yet - anxious for those!! A co-worker and I are in town for work and we where looking for a smash burger joint and came here on a Friday afternoon. Located at the mall, it was easy to find at the intersection. Place wasn't busy, ordered right away and our food was out in 5 minutes. I went with a Bacon Smash Burger (single patty) with lettuce, tomato and pickles. Burger was ok, needed more salt. Loved how crispy the meat was though. Bacon was a little sad, got some fatty parts that was tough to chew. The fries however were great. Overall, would rate this place a 6 out of 10. Never had smash burgers and I wasn't going to drive all the way to the West Shaw location, so thank you for opening one up close by! Upon entering, the place is spacious and very clean. Not many tables, but the seats were sofa-like! The menu is straightforward and the ordering process is quick. It seemed like their ice machine wasn't working so they gave my friends and me ice in the cup after we ordered. We ordered the double smash burger, triple smash burger, bacon smash burger, and jalapeno smash burgers; all made into combo meals. I ordered jalapenos on the side which cost an additional $1 which is super weird to me. But they have the banana peppers near the drink station for free. Overall, the burgers were really good and insanely juicy. The burgers didn't hold up and it got a bit messy. The fries were probably my favorite, they were crispy and tasty.
