I had the grilled octopus which was delicious and tender with a Mediterranean flair. I took a side of garlic broccoli which could have been cooked just a little bit more but was delicious. My wife had the fish and chips which I stole. A little bit of the chips were the best I've had. The fish was delicious. Of course we had to have a traditional old fashioned smoked which was quite a treat. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very attentive. Funny and welcoming.. but what really killed it was the ambiance and Old Stone building with beautifully appointed decorations. It was a place that I would love to spend more time in. If you're ever in the area, we highly recommend it.

Love the build out in the old mill building…read more It's interesting that they distill their own liquors, but it's not the main attraction as they are all variations of things you easily find a ton of, either at most liquor stores or even from other area distilleries like Bully Boy. We've had fantastic food there in the past. Also some great drinks. There are a few reasons for the three though. One is that food can be hit or miss and I think prices are far too high for both the area and what you get. Example shown in my pic was a $35 "Steak Frites" entree, which was you can see is basically steak tips with tater tots and some random veggies and sauce put together in what was not the most appetizing manner. Unless the tots were handmade with exotic ingredients, this is not how a Steak Frites should be done, and even then Tots are a pretty low end alternative. Cocktails also on the high side, though the presentation of the smoked ones was really nice, even if the taste didn't warrant the price. Inside the place gets very noisy and the seating is too compacted, probably because they use a large part of the original building for the distillery operation. Also we went on a weekday, and their entire lot was filled, forcing us to find a grass strip to drive onto and park on. I think the reason was they had a private party on the second floor - I think perhaps they allowed too many guests there which took up most of their parking. Last thing about the menu .. we like that it changes, but this week there were not one but several dishes featuring Gochujang - an unusual flavor for sure, which I do like, but when I see something like that peppered across a menu it speaks to cost cutting in terms of trying to stretch one key ingredient. Just not that thrilled with where the menu is at the moment. The outside seating area is great and eliminates the interior noise problems. And I'll add we had a fantastic server! We will definitely come back, but if the prices remain as high and the food and drinks continue to be a mixed bag, that may not remain the case. And please don't overbook private parties unless you can take over the industrial business next door and expand the parking significantly.

Is this the most scenic spot in southern Vermont to stop in for a drink or make a liquor purchase?…read more I think so! You've got breathtaking views out the window or sitting in the yard behind the store. There's even a few more breathtaking views looking across the street from the parking lot. I was going to say location is everything, but then there's the liquor. You're allowed 4 complimentary tastes. These are not large, maybe thimble sized, but you definitely get an idea of the flavors. I came here specifically for the maple whiskies (well, it IS Vermont), but I also enjoyed the cherry liqueur, something I definitely wanted for my liquor cabinet as well. I didn't purchase any of their crafted cocktails, but other customers in the store while I was there did, and they were obviously satisfied. Obviously the products here are elevated in both taste and height above sea level.

They then let you know you can sample 4 different spirits, my wife and I declined on this part only due to the fact we stopped at the nearby brewery first. We went right into picking our cocktails. Next time we definitely would do the sampling. Cocktail wise their current menu was broken into three different sections, those being Vodka, Bourbon, and lastly moonshine. An extra category on the bottom did include two mocktails as well. I thought the cocktails were extremely reasonable either being $11 or $13. I got their peach smash which was a really good drink utilizing their honey bourbon and peach liqueur which was balanced so well! My wife got their French martini that utilized their vodka and raspberry liqueur and came in a frosted glass. We loved both of the drinks and even though my wife typically is not a bourbon fan she liked mine. While we enjoyed our drinks inside and appreciated the atmosphere of the inside including the decor the true view is outside. Enjoy your cocktail while taking in the view, you can be on the patio or at a table or chair at the overlook. Can snap some amazing photos that's for sure! To sum it up, friendly and welcoming staff who make delicious cocktails with a great setting inside and out!

We arrived around noon w out a tasting reservation but got lucky there were spots available. We were greeted by a very friendly staff member outside and told us they had a jazz fest going. Music later and complimentary Mardi Gras necklaces etc! We went into the shop for our tasting. Gift shop and wines etc so nicely done arranged available for purchase.. We had a seat at the tasting bar and had a wonderful time choosing and tasting wine and spirits. I love how u can mix and match and try wine spirits beer and canned mixers. $16 pp including a wine glass. We added a cheese cracker plate for $8. Cheese was yummy! Loved it. Attentive and knowledgeable staff. The pours were once ounce and they did feel on the smaller side, and would have preferred a tasting w a bit more but that's just me! Highly recommend, will do the wine tour next time. We had reservations at J's Restaurant which was excellent. Afterwards we sat at a table to listen to the live jazz music. There was a QR code to order food and drinks. Will definitely give that a try next time. Beautiful location and staff always smiling.

I was pleasantly surpirsed to get seated with no reservation for a party of 2. I do recommend having a reservation though as it can get busy. The atmosphere is great for people who like sitting outdoors on a nice day as there are a ton of tables with umbrellas to keep people cool. You are able to scan a QR code to order anything off the menu and the service is great as the staff brings you the drinks to your table. For food they will text you when to pick up from kiosk. As for the drinks my friend and I both got the sangria, raspberry bellini, and fall sampler. All of the drinks were really refreshing and worth the price. The charcuterie and pretzel bites we got were also great for a nice winery day and the menu is pretty expansive so I want to try some other items in future visits. There were a lot of bees at some of the tables near where I sat and they often crowed the drinks and food so that it something to note. I definitely plan to come back next summer!

Watercure is a locally owned distillery that uses locally harvested ingredients to craft small batches of vodka, rum, whiskey, gin, bourbon, and brandy. Their website lists 20 different spirts, so they get pretty creative in the distillery. Everything is made on site, and when I asked to take a look at the sparkling silver tanks where the magic happens, our host happily obliged. They sell Apple Spice Flavored Rum, Vodka Flavored with Cucumber and Mint, Vodka Flavored with Strawberry and Rhubarb, Corn Vodka, Apple Vodka, Wheat Vodka, Shiitake Mushroom Flavored Vodka, Connecticut Corn Whisky, Barreled Aged- CT Corn Whisky, Connecticut Wheat Bourbon Whisky, Barreled Aged Gin, Gin, Rum, Brandy, McIntosh Apple Brandy, 1686 American Bourbon Whisky, Wolf Den Rye Whisky, 1701 Single Malt Whisky, Connecticut Bourbon Whisky, and Connecticut Barley Bourbon Whisky. Pretty impressive, eh? You can get a flight of four samples, or a mixed drink at their bar while you enjoy the super chill atmosphere in an old barn. We had a $14.99 flight of Cucumber and Mint Flavored Vodka, Apple Vodka, Apple Rum, and Strawberry Rhubarb Vodka (which we loved and was clearly our favored sample). As for my bourbon loving buddy, we picked up a 200 ml bottle of CT Wheat Bourbon ($59.99), and when we mentioned it was destined to be a birthday present, our host lovingly wrapped it in plastic and tied it with a pretty white bow! We had a wonderful experience out here in Pomfret Center, CT, and I bet you will too.

You have to walk down an access road that goes to the back parking lot to get to the entrance. They did have some banners at the entrance but that was odd. They have some food offerings that were pretty good and we tried a flight of most of their drink offerings. There were a couple of good pours, their New Medford rum and Addendum B whiskey were particularly good. Ambiance was lacking. The place caters to the late 20's - early 30's grunge crowd (or at least it did when we were there) and that's not us. The loud metal music and non-stop cursing by the bar staff and most of the patrons ensures that we won't be back. They do sell many of their spirits online, so perhaps check them out.

Once we were dropped off by our ride share company, it looked a little sketchy, but the entrance was in the back. It has a really nice intimate dark feel. Good for date night or small group experience. We had sips of different spirits, I personally couldn't finish them all. Some because of taste that didn't mesh with my tastebuds, other reason was it's straight up liquor- I wasn't trying to get get wasted. It's a decent amount of liquor. Overall, it was something different and something to do while visiting friends in town. The staff was really nice and informative, overall, I probably won't do this again, as tasting liquor isn't really my thing, versus a wine tasting, but glad to have tried it nevertheless.
