The whole place feels like it's straight out of a storybook--up the hill sits a big farmhouse overlooking the land, with the fresh smell of grass after a rain and two friendly farm dogs greeting you as you arrive. Carole taught us so much about the beautiful animals on the farm and walked us through how to care for them. We even got our hands dirty in the best way--grooming, feeding, walking, and exploring everything Miles Smith Farm has to offer. It was fun, educational, and truly memorable. I know what you're saying "Oh, Mr. B, you're just anal retentive!" No, it's not that. You buy a cooler bag at the store so the frozen stuff can be protected on the ride south, back home. You bring a few cloth bags so they're easier to carry and not prone to breaking like plastic bags. So the bagger. There's the issue. They put crackers, pasta sauce, and dry goods in the freezer bag. And toss frozen items in with bread in the cloth bag. The other cloth bag gets more frozen items, the hot rotisserie chicken, and all the yogurt. Did this happen once? No. Twice? Hoo boy, no. It happens every time. I have given to re-bagging all my groceries when I get back to my car so my frozen items aren't stuck with hot chicken, and vice-versa. I might take some photos next time. Train your baggers! Dammit!

I always remembered Markey's being known for generous portions, but this time the portions were extremely skimpy and honestly pretty surprising for the price point. When you're paying seafood prices, you expect to leave feeling like you actually got a meal. The atmosphere and quality were still good, but for the money there are much better options out there now. Hoping this was just an off day because I remember this place being much better.
