PROS: Lots of washers and dryers of various sizes and counter space to fold. There are also a couple of carts if you need something to transfer your stuff from washer to dryer. (Helpful because I forgot to bring a basket). All the dryer and washer doors lock once you press start -- so I felt comfortable sitting out in my car while my things were washing/drying. The prices are reasonable -- I washed a King sized comforter, 2 king sized throw blankets, a Queen sized mattress cover, a Queen sized fitted sheet, and 4 king sized pillow cases. To do this I ended up using 2 large washers ($6.00 each) and two large dryers that I added steam press and reversible rolling to for 60 minutes ($3.75 each) for a total of $19.50 for it all. I paid using quarters I brought with me but I saw there was a quarter machine and a QR code to pay through an app, if preferred. I could have probably fit everything into 1 dryer to save a little money -- as the big one is quite large -- but I didn't want to risk slowing down the dry time by over stuffing. If I compare this to other laundry mats that I've been to in the area, I would say it's on the cheaper side. I was in and out in under 2 hours. CONS: I agree with the other reviews -- this place is filthy, the floors especially. I set down a garbage bag I was using and when I picked it back up, the bottom was covered in dirt. While there are lots of washers and dryers, I would say 1/3 of them were broken or out of use. There's a bathroom on-site but it requires a code to use and there's no attendant there to provide it to you. The rinse cycle on the washer was okay but my pillow cases got tumbled into the comforter so when I took them out they were still very wet and I had to ring them by hand before putting them in the dryer. There's a very underwhelming sign that says the last wash is at 9:00pm, but with the door propped open you could easily miss it and walk right past it -- so just be aware of that. Parking can be challenging and the spots are mostly compact. OVERALL: If I was pressed for time I would come back here because it's the closest to my home and ultimately, I got what I needed washed and dried. That being said -- if I had more time to drive a little further, I would choose somewhere that's cleaner, has accessible bathrooms, and an on site attendant. Vending machines would have been nice here too.

Although there are much closer options to my house than Fresh Folds, this one looked the cleanest and it isn't coin-operated, so I decided to go with it. I am very glad that I did, because I had a very pleasant experience. No randoms hanging around causing trouble, no foul smelling washing machines (I read a review that complained about such at a different laundromat), a fairly clean interior, and decently priced options for what you get. In order to use the machines you load or reload a card specific to this business with a minimum of $10 (at least at self-service). Then you wave the card over the designated area on the machines to start them up. It's pretty much all self-service, but there was an attendant at the register who helped people. They also sell laundry essentials such as detergent, fabric softener, laundry bags, and they also have a vending machine to purchase food at. They have a gender neutral bathroom that appears to require their laundry card, but it says "$0.00", so I assume it's to make sure only customers gain access. Something else I noticed is that the washers and dryers have Spanish translations! (Price Range): $15+ (Machines): I used the mid sized machine ($8.59 a load) to wash all of my regular clothes, which I estimate to be about 3 loads. It states that it can hold 4 loads. For the smaller machine ($4.25 a load), I washed two heavy coats. The clothes came out smelling and looking great. The dryer is $.75 per 8 minutes, which isn't bad in my opinion. The second largest machine is $10.58 and holds 6 loads. The largest machine is $14.10 and holds 8 loads. (Location): It's located within a small business center in a fairly decent part of Tacoma. Good amount of parking spots. It's a decent sized establishment on the smaller side, and there are 6 regular chairs and 4 barstools for people to sit and wait. Both the machines have dispense areas at the top where you pour your softener, detergent, main wash, pre wash, and 2nd main wash. There are wash settings for heavy or soiled loads, adding an extra rinse, delicates, warm, cold, hot, etc. (Service): There was an attendant, but I didn't interact with him at all.

The location is convenient for me but kind of tucked away in the plaza it's in, easy to miss. Reload your laundry cards there, they even have a snack machine that you can also use your laundry card to get snacks from. I can't get away without spending $11 on a wash load because I only come with king sized bedding but it's nice to do it all at once and I can't get it into my own washer at home. The dryer runs me about $8, it's .75 for 8 minutes and you load up from there. A warning - if you are only washing a large blanket like a king sized comforter you may error out the dryer. This only happened to me 1 out of 5 times. But I guess when the blanket fluffs up it covers the vacuum holes and causes the dryer to emergency shut off. I had to keep an eye on it the whole time and it added a good 30 min to my cycle. Very annoying but better than not being able to wash and dry my bedding !! By the way I went to the location on 72nd because it's near my work and the card I purchased and have always used at UP did not work there. So the same card will not work at both locations and you'll have to buy separate laundry cards and your balance won't transfer. Other than that I would tell everyone to use this place except for I don't want to have to wait my turn if you all come.
