Also, if I could casually borrow their interior designer for my own home, I would! For those who don't know, WeWork provides shared workspaces for startups and services for other enterprises. They have locations world-wide and each one differs from the next. This is my first time at the Circa Building location and it's definitely my favorite of the ones I've seen. As you enter, there is a huge communal area filled with plenty of varied seating, beautiful decor and a large kitchen-area (stocked with all the goods). There are many membership options, and from what I understand, you can rent the use of just the communal area, otherwise there are tiers to fit the needs of all businesses, big or small. Both the first and second floor are lined with offices that are filled with so many different companies. I think the community vibe is real cool in that you can have your own private work space, or you can mingle and connect with other local workers. Yesterday, there were tacos, wine, and pizza on offer by the end of the day in the big shared kitchen. Things like this aren't an every day occurrence but the point is that WeWork also partners with many other local spots for neat special events and collaborations. Not only is this place a great co-working spot, but a fantastic networking one too! (Consider this my plea for a WeWork to open in my city... Milwaukee!)

Took my girlfriend here for Valentines Day and we ordered Shishito pepper Brussels sprouts, pork belly bao buns, Xiao Long Bao, and the cheeseburger dumplings. Man, I'm already wanting to go back. We also had some Valentine's Day themed cocktails that were pretty good. The waiters and bartenders were so great at giving recommendations for cocktail preferences and were attentive to us. Great experience and always one of my faves.

The shumai and pork buns came out first and really heightened our expectations. Both were delicious. The sauce that came with the shu mai is one of my favorites that I have ever tried. The pork buns are served with a spicy sauce which my dad liked but I decided to pass on. After that, we continued to get more and more disappointed. The Kung Pao Shroom Trio was not our favorite. The sauce on top was lacking and this dish really needs some protein. We also did not enjoy the cheeseburger dumplings. They did not have any cheese in them and the spicy mustard on top did not go with what we felt like the theme of the dish should be. I will say that every dish has great presentation. When we went, it was late. However, none of the servers seemed extremely interested in helping and they would drop items and quickly leave before you could say anything. They do have an online order and pay system which is really nice and the food comes out quickly. They do keep your sodas filled. The ambiance is definitely more bar like (again, makes sense since it was late) since they have a bar upstairs. Not a place for kids. We would come again for some shu mai and pork buns, but that's all.

After leaving a concert downtown, hoping to wait out traffic and the ride-share pick up craze- my husband and I wanted to get a quick bite and a drink. There were not many places open past 11pm on a Sunday, let alone serving food. I also came to the unfortunate realization that many of the late night places I use to frequent downtown have closed permanently since quarantine. While walking, I spotted Appaloosa from the corner of my eye. Lo & behold, not only were they open, but the menu was posted on the door with their late night hours going until 1 am. Though I had been before, I was not sure what the hours were, or if the kitchen was open late. We walked in and were greeted by live music and a friendly host. No cover charge, just a quick peak at the I.D. We sat at the bar while the band played jazz that added to the ambiance. Our bartenders were attentive and gave great conversation. We were immediately given menus and asked what we would like to drink. Katelyn took our food order promptly, and she was also funny and charismatic. We ordered the birria tacos, and they were absolutely amazing. The consommé was flavorful and bright, and the birria itself was tender and juicy. The food was so fantastic we forgot about our drinks! Appaloosa was the perfect way to wrap up the weekend, and we will be coming back very soon!

I had the eggs Benedict with duck, which was savory and tender- would get again, even if it was a little small for a $22 meal. I also got a mimosa and a raspberry beret- the beret was delicious and served with the coolest presentation- they used dry ice to create smoke! The decor is very maximalist mid century- love it! Great for a date or if you are impressing someone. Don't let the location scare you off- everything around it looks closed but once you get inside it's absolutely beautiful. I can't end this review without gushing about the staff. I had a weird fainting episode and scared the crap out of my friend- our server and the rest of the staff were on it, so sweet and helpful. They got me a cold towel and an ice bucket so that I could recover. I was so impressed by how they handled everything! Ultimately, I would come back just for the service, but the food and drinks were excellent as well. Definitely worth returning for!

A Wednesday 430pm - wasn't crowded. My husband told them it was my birthday before we arrived so they made me an ube martini. Purple and fantastic! I ordered the tiramisu, my husband got a classic espresso and my best friend got the Dubai chocolate. All of them were beautiful! I think my favorite was the Dubai chocolate. We also ordered appetizers of the burrata and the sweet potato croquette. Burrata is always fantastic! The croquettes were good. They were doing Star Wars themed drinks for May the 4th so Star Wars was playing in a screen (that you could barely see due to the sun). They both got the red velvet espresso martini topped with whipped coffee. It was cute but very sugary. Service was fantastic! The staff was so nice!! Maybe I'm just not used to inflation yet but the prices for everything just felt so expensive!!
