This place deserves much higher rating! What a great late night find for drinks, dinner, and music! Recommended to try from a local bartender and loved it! Some of the best wings I've ever had! Also tried the Denver dip which also was moist and delicious! Fries excellent! Music and service were great! For a high tourist traffic area I was surprised with how great this was even late at night! Will definitely be back!

So the wife and I wanted a snack and drinks. So we stopped by and gave this place a try. The bartender was really nice the place has a cool vibe. The building is really cool. We get wings and sweet potatoes fries. The food was really good and came out really fast. They have a really good beer list. We were out late that night and there were still open so we stoped in again for dinner. Also had live music. I got a buffalo burger with cheddar cheese and it was really good. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of it.! We definitely recommend this place. Cheers !

We decided to try Appaloosa Grill, as it was within walking distance of our hotel. The staff were very nice and welcoming as they seated us took our drink orders. Taylor did a great job of answering our menu questions and taking our specific food requests. She did a great job of being there without being there too much. The food was delicious! My wife had a cheeseburger and fries. She ordered it medium with provolone. It came out perfect. I had a Buffalo burger cooked medium with smoked Gouda and fries. It was cooked perfect as well. The fries were hot and fresh, and salted perfectly. I tried the Pilsner Urquell Czech Lager. It was an easy, refreshing drinker, as pilsners are, that went well with the burger. Appaloosa Grill was a laid back, nice place to hang out after our flight to grab a bite and drink. We would love to come back someday when we visit Denver again.

Overall it was average. The food was good but nothing exceptional, I did really enjoy the side salad. They had some good options for drinks but mine was too sweet. The service was also average (not the most expedient). The bathroom was frustrating. I was told to use one in the main building. It was all the way downstairs and then all the stalls were locked!? Then when I came back up there was a bathroom upstairs after all that they let me use. So that was odd. Overall, I'd say it's an average experience typical for restaurants on 16th St. mall in Denver. However it was very convenient to the Paramount theater where we were going to a show after.

I put in a pick up order for a Green Chili Bison Burger and broccoli. The order was ready when I arrived and it was a smooth pick up. The burger was unfortunately much drier than I thought and could have used for seasoning. The broccoli was good but too salty. I also wasn't given any utensils or napkins for the order. I probably wouldn't return with so many other choices in the area.

The food scene in down town Denver is happening! This spot was recommended three times and I see why! Cool vibes in this upscale bistro style eatery. Great bar, cost seating areas and inviting staff. They make a righteous Manhattan! The Carpaccio is legit, but that Baked Goat Cheese app. Steals the show! The house roasted Turkey Melt is fantastic with Pablano peppers, Gouda Cheese and Bacon Jam.

If there is one place in Denver I would recommend to anyone visiting it is Appaloosa. My husband and I both agreed that this was the best meal we had over the course of our 5 day visit. We stumbled in during happy hour, so I indulged in a couple of drinks. I don't remember all the specials but rail drinks were $6. I also ordered the bison chili fries from their happy hour menu and HOLY *UCK they are INCREDIBLE! They are a must try. I also had the lobster roll which comes packed with lobster and is served with delicious butter on the side. It does not come with a side like fries or a salad, so you may need to order a couple of items to get full. Don't hesitate to dine here. The staff are friendly and accommodating and the food is 1000/10.

The 20% service charge is in BOLD when they bring the check but they don't inform you and keep it hidden in small print before you eat

DO NOT EAT HERE, unless you like paying the operating cost of the restaurant for the owners. This restaurant operates on communist/socialist principles, charging a 20% service fee calculated from the after-tax amount, to pass on their operating costs to the customer. This charge is hidden and they do not tell you up front when you sit down or before you order. I enjoy a good Bison steak which is why I chose to come here. I looked at the menu online before coming so I already knew what I was going to order without looking at the menu in the restaurant. No where on their web page does it say in bold, on the main page or anywhere you would easily find it, that they charge 20% on the total bill including the tax. I am fine with tipping FOR GOOD SERVICE, AFTER. I have a problem with mandatory hidden fees to pass standard business operating costs of the owner onto the customer. I also do not pay 20% across the board on alcohol. If I order a $30 bottle of wine or a $300 bottle, the server performs the same action to uncork and pour. I do not pay/tip 20% on alcohol just because the bottle cost more. If the owner wants to pass the costs on to the customer, then RAISE THE MENU PRICES and let people decide if they want to pay versus deceiving them with lower listed prices when in fact, the prices are actually 20% higher than what's listed on the menu. DO NOT include hidden service fees that are only brought to light after eating when the bill comes. DINE AT YOUR OWN RISK. I however will never eat here again and will patronize establishments that are open and honest with their customers from the start and do not demand a service fee before any service has actually been conducted and then have the gall to ask for additional tips on top.

Delicious food and good local beers on tap! Very friendly staff. Only reason for the 4 stars is they automatically add a gratuity charge to your bill that gets shared by the staff. The best of me hopes they're still paying their staff a fair and competitive wage...

My wife and I got there about 3pm in time for happy hour. We ordered a couple of sandwiches, turkey and a bison reuben. They were very good. Great local bakery bread and the marble rye for the reuben was spot on. Service was slow and sloppy. We had told her that we would be interested in ordering happy hour drinks and appetizers, but she never came back until we had finished our lunch. She let the bill and after 15 minutes I had to find the manager take the bill. FYI - everyone is charged a 20% service fee so I can see why service is poor.

As Texas transplants, we've enjoyed some incredible steakhouses over the years and have traveled extensively, but this was truly one of the best dining experiences we've had. We started with the wedge salad, which was fresh, crisp, and packed with flavor--easily one of the best wedge salads we've ever had. We were so excited for this, but SHEEP was incredibly disappointing. The "main" portions were very small (2 small-ish prawns as a main) in a 4-course menu. None of the dishes were standout. I thought the tomato starter was interesting; my husband said the bread was the best course :/ . Dessert was really weird - beautiful, but it had such an off-putting taste. I only ate a few bites and the rest was trashed, untouched. (Same with most of the prawn dish.) One was the biggest issues was that service was lacking overall. No one checked for dietary restrictions or allergies at the start of the meal, which definitely should have been done. After the starters, service got very slow (without anyone coming to explain the delay) and silverware sat uncleared between the main and dessert course. It was difficult to hear the explanations of each course and the server, though friendly, quickly ran through a laundry list of ingredients and sometimes seemed to struggle to remember all of them. After the first course, I'd also asked for flowers to be left off future dishes (though beautiful, it was a dietary restriction that I needed followed), but the prawns came coated in blossoms, so we barely had any of that dish. No one explained until it was cleared that they were chive blossoms. I'll also note the flower garnish is present in every dish and prominent in many dishes, and not included on the menu. After all of this, a hefty bill arrived with a mandatory 22% tip and a service fee for dining on the rooftop, where the restaurant is located. Really disappointed. The experience has put this once-longtime fan off this restaurant group.

After a brief walk from the hotel around 12PM on a Sunday, we found ourselves in a nice section…read morewith shops and eateries. Outside, there appeared to be some construction going on where there'd be outdoor seating, but it was too hot anyway so we wandered on in. It wasn't busy when we arrived, 1 party visible (later I realized there was another section with customers.) Cute decor with plenty of seating. Our server immediately greeted us and seated us right away. The brunch menu wasn't too overwhelming and she went over the specials. Ultimately, we ordered the following: Artichoke tortelloni Eric's bao-nuts Gabe's chronic chicken salad sandwich Rioja Benedict Colorado lamb burger From beginning to end, all the dishes were exceptional! Everyone loved their meal! The artichoke tortelloni was enough as an appetizer for a party of 4. Apparently, we ordered a "desert" with the Eric's bao-nuts to start everything off. This in itself was so good, I'd go back just for this if I had the chance. I personally had the colorado lamb burger. I generally tend to eat light and don't finish my meals in one sitting. This definitely wasn't the case. The presentation for the burger caught my attention as well. We were so happy with our meals that we decided to get a "2nd desert", the flourless fudge torte. Man, I'm impressed. Chocolate was not too rich or sweet, loved the cherry compote. This is was a winner! Overall, it was a great lunch dining experience to start off my mother's birthday. The service, presentation and food were on point! I'll be back in the future to try out their dinner menu. Thanks Rioja!

Drew was a great server, very attentive and made great recommendations for a solo diner. I enjoyed a glass of Grenache rose and the half portion of Goat Cheese Gnudi. The Gnudi were the fluffiest pillows of yum and the lamb ragù made it the perfect amount of filling for a late evening meal.
