Went to La Jolla Kayak with my mom and brother visiting from Texas and overall had a really great…read moretime. Pricing was decent--around $75 for a single kayak and about $90-$98 for a tandem. Check-in was easy, and they help you gear up with a life vest and helmet. Important tip: wear a swimsuit because you will get wet, and only bring your phone in a waterproof case. Everything else (sunglasses, loose items) can easily get lost. Parking is street only, and you walk about 5 minutes to the beach with your group. At the beach, they give you paddles and guide you into the water. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We did get to see seals, which was a highlight. The only downside was the waves were pretty strong that day, so we couldn't fully go into the caves, which was a bit disappointing. It's definitely a workout, but still really fun overall. I'd give it an 8/10 and would recommend it if you're in La Jolla and want something active and memorable.

Our group of 6 did an early bird special with a 2 hour tour . It was such a great idea .the early…read morebird special was well worth it . 1 hr wouldn't have been enough time to truly see the sights . I thought the demonstration was overwhelming and I would I loved some time to practice before getting out there . But my husband drove so that made it a non issue . The workers were kind , helpful and fun even took our photos. I would recommend if you run cold , wear sunglasses . put a blanket on your lap, wear a jacket and my husband would recommend wearing gloves when driving .There was a missing cup holder in our car so we needed to stuff our water near the back. There is a trunk which was nice and you can unplug the cars gps if you want to stop and walk around but our gps had a hard time reconnecting but when we called they were able to walk us through . The gps was a little delayed sometimes . But those cookies that were listed on the route from uncle Bill's killer cookies was amazing . Mine were fresher from the oven so would def recommend them.

Michael has not been able to schedule a flight for my husband stating that his plane is not in working condition. We have been attempting to get our money back for over a year. On numerous occasions he has promised to send the money back to us yet we still do not have it. He is extremely difficult to communicate with - voicemail box is full, he doesn't answer texts, he doesn't reply to postal mail, and he doesn't respond to his company email through his website. We are completely frustrated and disappointed to have been taken advantage of in this way.

When we first arrived, most of us needed to use the restroom (since there isn't one on the boat), and the girl working at check-in seemed a bit annoyed by that. However, once we got on the boat, she was totally fine and helpful. A few things to note: someone in your group does have to drive the boat, so plan ahead for that. You can bring your own 21+ drinks as long as they're not in glass containers, and you'll need to bring your own ice. Once you're out on the water, it's pretty lively with lots of other boats and people. We played our own music and just hung out--it was a really fun, chill experience. The two hours definitely go by fast, so keep an eye on the time. They're strict about going over, even by a minute, so we set a timer and started heading back 30 minutes before our end time. After some quick research on Yelp, we made our reservations (VERY easy to do) and met everyone on said Saturday at the Black Swan dock. (side note - they want you there 20 minutes early...this does NOT mean you can check in 20 minutes early...chances are very high that the person checking you in is your gondolier, and he/she will be on the water at that moment). We had Conner (VERY traditional Italian name....cough) - and he was awesome. He shared some great details as we made our way along the shoreline, including some of the local nicknames for the houses on the water. He was VERY knowledgeable about when the lake was created, the various depths, and gave us tips on when to avoid being on the water (July 4th was high on that).
