They sold me a 1997 Ford Mustang GT 4.6l engine that supposedly ran great . Well once I finally got it installed and put all new fluids and some gaskets I found out it has 1 cylinder with real low compression and the the other 7 are not to good. So I waisted 550 dollars on this engine. read more

When a customer walks into a business, regardless of what type of business that might be, we have all been led to believe the customer is always right. After paying my dues working in retail I believe this to be true. So when I walked into this business with my father and basically was told no, that's when the business did not receive our business. My father, no dummy when it comes to cars, came here in search of a set of spare rims for his vehicle so he could mount his winter tires. This makes it easier on the owner of the vehicle, and less wear and tear on the seal of the tire and rim alike. It still baffles me that the employee, not sure of his name, was dead set on talking my father out of doing such a thing. The employee kept talking in circles instead of doing a simple search of their inventory and telling us whether they had them or not. After frustrating back and forth jibber-jabber, we left. We made no purchase and I can almost say with certainty that my father will be looking elsewhere for said rims for his vehicle. read more

Darren and Kay In The New Year's Eve Ordeal: Part Four With a doughnut acting as a crutch for Kay's injured car, we called and called and drove about incoherently, desperately, skittishly only to get automated phone messages or to be turned away. There were seemingly so many options yet the garages were either closed, had no mechanics working, or couldn't get us the rim we needed. Spitz Auto: Our Highway Savior. We called them, and they in fact had the rim we needed. They couldn't put it on, but they did have it. As soon as we got there, a burly, bearded fellow joyously pulled out the shining, Christmas-red, correctly-sized (15 inches), rim we needed. So it was back to NTB with the rim where everything was replaced. Before we knew it, we were back on the road, and our holiday was saved. read more

You'd think someone in the salvage business would know that parts can and will work across several model years. Nope. Their website forces you to put in a specific year of the part you are looking for, and you'd assume they'd know what to do from there. Nope, instead I received a rude email saying there's no way such a new vehicle would be found in a salvage yard at this time. Meanwhile, I already know that the part can come from any 2007 through 2017 Jeep model. After I go back and explain that to them, they rudely tell me if I had wanted the part on a new vehicle, I should have ordered it when I bought it. However, I was looking to get a spare one and I did order it with the part. In fact, I didn't have to "order" it as every Jeep Wrangler comes with a spare tire carrier, with a spare mounted right on it. I don't expect someone to know everything about every vehicle manufacturer and model, but Stephen was absolutely obnoxious. I can't imagine how much business they are losing because someone requests a part for a certain year car, and even though that part can be found on several models and model years, they just don't have one from that exact year, Stephen tells them they are out of luck. I grew up going to junkyards with my dad to get parts and looked forward to working with Spitz as they are local for me. I think I'll find somewhere else. Maybe visiting Spitz would be better, as long as Stephen doesn't work at the Irwin location, but it's too difficult to get there before they close, and I can't call while I'm working, leaving their website as the best option to request a part. It's just a shame they don't have someone more knowledgeable answer the internet requests. read more

Since I have to give at least 1 star, then I grudgingly will, but they deserve 0. I made an Internet inquiry for a rear driveshaft for a Ford Escape. Seems simple enough, right? The Auto Parts website led me to these ying yangs. Don't deal with these jackasses, go elsewhere. They tell me they have 2, will put in the order, and they will give me the better of the 2, and I make arrangements to pick up the following day. Again, seems simple enough... But no.. I get there the next day, and get the deer in the headlights look when I tell them what I'm there for. It hasn't been pulled yet, for some mystical reason. So ok, I'll wait, not a big deal. So after 25 minutes I'm told there's a problem. They actually don't have either one they told me they had. I tell them well thanks for screwing me over, adios A holes. If I can find other places to slay these jagoffs I will, they deserve to lose business for their treatment of customers. 2.5 hours of my time wasted because Stephen was too damn lazy to confirm that they actually had the part they promised me. Talk about customer service! Stephen was absolutely awesome! I live in Texas and told him that I just bought a used truck in Texas for my brother who lives in Pittsburgh. The truck was missing the tailgate so I started my internet search of salvage yards near me. The truck is bright red and in great shape so I was hoping to find a matching tailgate, but would've considered silver or black. I found a few non-red tailgates in Texas on ebay and craigslist but none of them panned out. I called a dozen salvage yards in Texas but none of them had a tailgate for the year I was needing. Then my brother told me about Spitz and Stoystown in Pittsburgh. Stoystown had a white one that was overpriced. I called Spitz and Sephen answered. He said they had a few tailgates in their inventory but they weren't quite what I was looking for in terms of color and features (they either had the step or camera and I didn't need either). He also looked up the make and model of my truck and told me the color code of the red that I was looking for. He then searched the inventory for other salvage yards nearby and found a red one. My brother went out to look at it and bought it the next day. Stephen went above and beyond to help me find what I was looking for even when they didn't have it. I told my brother about my very positive experience and recommended that he check with Spitz and Stephen in the future whenever he needs another auto part. read more

(long review, sorry. The entire visit was terrible) I wish it was possible to leave no stars. My brother, myself and his friend drove from Somerset (almost an hour and a half) to get some parts for a PT Cruiser. I understand it's an older building, and an even older business. But when you walk in and you get filthy from just brushing against a display, something tells me that no one has actually looked at their inventory in ages. The older man at the desk had a bad attitude from the moment we stepped up to the desk. From working in retail, this was a bad sign and I was going to say something, but my brother needed the parts. My brother was the only one allowed to go down to see the car to see if the parts would work. While he was gone, his friend and I looked at the tires, and found two somewhat decent ones that would last him long enough to get another check to get new ones. The teen that was in charge of the keys for the tires was rude, rolled his eyes at every question and even audibly groaned when we asked if we could get tires. When my brother came back he was angry as the parts would not be able to be removed that day. I understood the fact it would take time to take the parts off. My brother asked if they could be removed before lunchtime on Monday (It was Saturday morning, and he works in Maryland, he would be leaving for work Monday around two pm.). The man at the desk rolled his eyes and mumbled "I guess we can do that." Then my brother asked the man at the counter if he wanted the money for the parts now, or when he picked them up. The man then answered "Whenever is good for you, I guess." REALLY? Needless to say, we are looking elsewhere for parts. And in our rush to leave the place, when he went to get the tires on the car the man putting the tires on found several holes and two tacks stuck on the INSIDE. Twenty five dollars a tire...I guess you get what you pay for. Hopefully somewhere that's somewhat cleaner and has an ounce of respect. read more

Ordered a headlight 2/23. Part arrived 2/25. I asked if they would also order a front bumper cover for me, they said sure and I never heard back from them. I called today 3/4 (8days after the bumper order) and they said that the parts were returned a few days ago after them holding them for a week. And then asked if I wanted to reorder the parts again. Absolutely not. Won't deal with them again. It's too hard to pick up a phone and call me to tell me my stuff arrived? Then ship it back? No thanks. read more
