I booked a complimentary 30 min session online and received a reminder text the day before our session with the time and location to meet our photographer. They have photographers all over Maui but we figured it would be easiest to do our shoot near our hotel. Your photographer will have your photos ready to view and purchase within a few hours, so fast turn around! They also give you a nice wooden flash drive when you purchase the digital package. Our photographer was Saray and she was amazing! She was professional, kind, patient, prompt, and had a great eye for memorable pictures and poses. I researched several photographers' websites, but many of their family photos seemed a little tacky. When I came across Wendy's portfolio, I was impressed by her more artistic and candid style. She uses film, which is extremely rare these days! She agreed to meet us early in the morning, and she suggested a beautiful, secluded beach nearby. She was very responsive and straight to the point. I like that I was able to book her immediately because she provided the contract & deposit instructions in the first email. She made it incredibly easy for me. When we got to Maui, Amy was able to help us choose a location and time to shoot. We ended up shooting at a beach 5 min away from our hotel in Wailea. Amy took really beautiful photos and even asked us if there were any specific shots that we wanted. It was a smooth shoot from beginning to end. They are very easy to get along with, and they worked well with all the adults and my five year old. My son loved them instantly, and despite waking up grouchy from a nap on the car ride to the beach, he almost instantly turned into a ham for Lucky. He had a lot of questions too, and Lucy and Lucky were very good with answering all of them. I chose Mokapu Beach for our session, and I loved it. The fallen tree, rocks with vibrant green algae, palm trees, the beautiful sand and waves all offered a great (and a wide variety) of backdrops. It was easy to find parking in the lot Lucy and Lucky direct us to, and there were not a lot of people on the beach. Lucy and Lucky offer you great photographs and a great price. Their 48 hour turn around time is great as well. If we decide to get photographs taken again next time we are on Maui, I won't hesitate to book with Blue Maui Photographers again.
